David DePape has already been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for the hammer attack on the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
“What is the point of crowing?” one Democratic aide said of the news. “As an important fact, it makes its own point.”

David DePape admitted during trial testimony that he broke into the Pelosis’ home Oct. 28, 2022, intending to hold the speaker hostage and “break her kneecaps” if she lied to him.
David DePape was convicted last year of attempted kidnapping of a federal official and assault on the immediate family member of a federal official.
The former House speaker snapped at an interjection by Katy Tur in a chat about jobs creation.
"He believes in his political survival," the California Democrat said of Trump's new statement on abortion.
