The Best Luxury Bedding Sets, According to Editors
It's all about the material and the feel.
We love to save on anything home-related, but if there is one thing we are willing (and excited) to splurge on, it’s a luxury bedding set. Why, you might ask? Well, as you may have heard, we spend at least a third of our lifetimes in bed, according to the National Institute of Health, so making sure it’s an enjoyable place to be is paramount. Now, when we say “luxury,” we’re not just referring to price. A duvet or sheet set does not have to be exorbitantly expensive in order to be considered luxury. For us shopping editors, luxury means it’s durable, long-lasting, and silky-soft. The options on our list check off these boxes, and are well under $300.
Shop Our Top Picks
So, if you’re ready to upgrade your bed, check out our list of the top contenders when it comes to luxury bedding sets. Yes, of course, everything is available à la carte, but why buy each piece separately when you can buy them all at once for less? Keep scrolling and check out all of our favorite options, some of which we have and love. Go ahead and get one (or several) of these luxury bedding sets before they're gone because, trust us, they do sell out!

Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheet Set

Pros
Available in 17 colors
Breathable and moisture-wicking fabric
Enhanced weave prevents pilling
Cons
Prone to wrinkling after use
"Cozy Earth was kind enough to send me a set of its best-selling bamboo sheets, which include two pillowcases, a flat sheet, and a fitted sheet. The sheets are marketed as being cooling, which I am always a little skeptical of, but these really are extremely cooling. It's actually one of the side effects of bamboo," Associate Shopping Editor Jessica Cherner says. "I do tend to run pretty warm, so slipping into bed feels so nice these days. As far as feel goes, they're somewhere between classic cotton and jersey. I know the word 'jersey' may bring you back to college—and not in a good way—but hear me out: They do have a little bit of stretch to them and they're not crisp at all, so if you like the feel of something a little more pliable, these are a great fit for you. I truly love them and consider them in my top three favorite sheets I own...and I own a lot of sheets."
Sizes: Twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, California king, and split king | What's Included: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases
Pros
Option to customize your set
Available in five colors
Breathable weave
Cons
Flat sheet not included in bundle
L.A.-based Parachute quickly became a household staple when it hit the scene in 2014. You can rely on this brand for its effortless, understated elegance that redefined the California-cool look. All of Parachute's sets are great, and you can choose between several different materials and neutral color options. The sateen is a crowd-pleaser, so opt for that set if you aren't sure where you start, but if you want something lighter for a warmer climate, go with the percale, and brushed cotton for chillier regions. Back to this set, though. It's a great bundle for anyone moving into their first home or looking to totally revamp their bed because it includes literally everything you'd need for a cozy night in: a duvet insert, two pillowcases, a fitted sheet, a duvet cover, and two pillow inserts. Feel free to tack on a flat sheet too. You can also customize the set: Choose between down and down alternative duvet inserts, pillow densities, pillowcase styles, and more.
Sizes: Full, queen, king, and California king | What's Included: Duvet insert, two pillowcases, fitted sheet, duvet cover, and two pillow inserts
Pros
OEKO-TEX Standard (no harmful chemicals)
Deep pockets for mattresses up to 16 inches thick
Free shipping 45-day free returns
Cons
Prone to wrinkling
Available in white, ivory (pictured), and gray, these crisp linen sheets, which come in a set, are some of the best on offer. For starters, they're made of 100 percent Belgian linen that's OEKO-TEX Standard, meaning they're free of harmful chemicals. If you're thinking all linen, no matter where it's made, is the same, think again. Belgian linen is the best there is because of the quality, comfort, and durability. Belgian linen products are made from flax grown in Belgium and woven in certified mills in the country, meaning every manufacturer follows the country's strict guidelines surrounding sustainability and safety. There are never chemicals or toxic dyes in any Belgian linen products, which is why we love these sheets so much. We wouldn't expect anything less than perfection when it comes to Saatva, though. The set includes a flat sheet, a deep fitted sheet, and two pillowcases, so you may want to score two, you know, just to have on hand.
Sizes: Twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king | What's Included: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases
Pros
Handmade in Portugal
Available in two colors
OEKO-TEX Standard
Cons
One of the most expensive options on our list
This duvet cover may be more than $400, but hear us out: It's worth it. The cotton sateen duvet, which is hand-tailored in Portugal, is reminiscent of luxury hotel bedding that's as crisp as it is coastal, so if you're looking to bring a touch of island living vibes to your bedroom. The double matte satin stitching adds a moment of dimension and frames the bed, which, in our opinion, makes the room look more organized and tidy. If you are looking for more of a contrast, the Southport comes in three additional shades. Just be sure to grab the matching shams along with your duvet to finish off the look.
Sizes: Twin, full/queen, and king/California king | What's Included: Duvet cover (shams sold separately)
Eucalypso Classic Sheet Set
![Classic Sheet Set Classic Sheet Set](https://cdn.statically.io/img/hips.hearstapps.com/vader-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/1718657374-screen-shot-2023-02-28-at-12-32-21-pm-6670a14f50d5c.png?crop=1.00xw:0.747xh;0,0.200xh&resize=980:*)
Pros
Available in nine colors
Derived from sustainable eucalyptus wood pulp
Antibacterial and hypoallergenic
Cons
Elastic may stretch after a year or so
"Eucalypso touts its offering as 'the world's softest and coolest sheets.' Not only are they antibacterial, hypoallergenic, and antimicrobial, but the brand also claims that these cooling sheets are 70 percent more moisture-wicking than cotton," Contributor Kelsey Mulvey says. "As someone who always run hot when they sleep, I have to admit this was a big draw. After my first night of sleeping on Eucalypso's tencel sheet set, I noticed that, while I could feel the heat from the vent a few feet away from my toes, my body wasn't sweaty. Convinced it might be a lucky coincidence, I tried again, feeling just as comfortable the next morning." Read Mulvey's full review of the sheets set here.
Sizes: Twin, full, queen, king, and California king | What's Included: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases
Pros
Available in 21 colors
Microfiber material feels silky
Shrink-, fade-, and pill-resistant
Cons
Fabric may wear over time
"Mellanni may not be a household name yet but with over 351k ratings and a 4.5/5 stars on Amazon, they're arguably the crown jewel of the site's bedding section," Mulvey says. "When I took this set out of its packaging, I was amazed by how nice they felt. These sheets didn't feel flimsy or cheap: They felt thick and sturdy. Expensive. (Honestly, if I didn't know any better, I would assume they were some fancy bedding brand.) Don't just take my word for it: Even my husband, who isn't as bedding-obsessed as I am, noted that they felt really soft." Plus, it doesn't hurt that the whole set is on sale for less than $50.
Sizes: Twin, full, queen, king, split king, and California king | What's Included: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases
Pros
Available in 31 colors
Made of 100 percent breathable linen
Sustainably made
Cons
Select sizes sold out in various colors
Cultiver, an Australian company, crafts its sheets using 100 percent linen from European flax, which is breathable, moisture-wicking, durable, increasingly soft, sustainable, and ethically produced. All the sheets are pre-washed to give them that soft, worn-in vibe you'd get from a vintage sweatshirt or well-loved tee. Cultiver also offers a wide range of colorways so you'll be able to find that specific shade, no matter how specific. The bedding is also highly breathable, a must for hot sleepers. The only downside is that there are only a few colors available in all three sizes, so if you see a shade you like in the right size, grab it before it's gone. As a proudly sustainable brand, Cultiver doesn't make hundreds of each colorway because that, the brand says, would be wasteful. Instead, a few are made in each color and size, ensuring that every product made does, indeed, get purchased, and nothing is sitting in a dingy warehouse.
Sizes: Queen, king, and California king | What's Included: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases
Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheet Set
![Signature Hemmed Sheet Set Signature Hemmed Sheet Set](https://cdn.statically.io/img/hips.hearstapps.com/vader-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/1718659000-img-1751-6670a791e2455.jpg?crop=1xw:0.9989806320081549xh;center,top&resize=980:*)
Pros
Available in multiple colors
Sustainably produced
Requires no ironing to maintain crispness
Cons
Very expensive
"As much as I love high-quality sheets, I refuse to take care of them for the sake of aesthetics. In other words, I am not ironing or steaming my sheets after I wash them, but I still want them to look good on my bed," Cherner explains. "These require no extra TLC to stay stylish. I can take them out of the dryer, fold them when they’re still warm, pop them on my shelf for a month while I sleep on another set I enjoy, and put them back on my bed without a single crease.
Secondly, I like the look and fill of thick hotel-like sheets, so you’ll never see silk on my bed. All of Boll & Branch’s sheets are made of long-staple, 100 percent organic cotton that’s manufactured and woven sans harmful pesticides, GMOs, or toxins like formaldehyde. The attention to detail definitely shows. These are somehow both very soft and crisp, which is my perfect combination when it comes to bedding." Read Cherner's full review here.
Sizes: Twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, split king, and California king | What's Included: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases
Pros
365-day return policy
Available in 15 colors and patterns
Good for hot sleepers
Cons
Corners of fitted sheet can pull up
Brooklinen brings luxurious comfort down for a more budget-conscious sleeper. The classic core collection is a great starter set, as it includes all of the essentials and it's designed to strike the perfect balance between lightweight and cozy, and they have plenty of positive reviews to back them up. If you're not convinced even after you try them, Brooklinen has a generous 365-day return policy. Plus, if you sleep hot, these breathable percale sheets will definitely do you some good.
Sizes: Twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king | What's Included: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases
Pros
Both shams and duvet cover are on sale
Shams come in three sizes
Machine washable
Cons
Low in stock
If you're going with a duvet color that features a unique color or pattern, make sure to complete the look with matching shams. One of our personal favorites of the moment is this West Elm set, which made of 100 percent cotton. Though you should get the duvet cover to fit your bed, feel free to get any size shams that speak to you most: standard, king, or Euro.
Sizes: Full/queen and king/California king | What's Included: Duvet cover and two shams (sold separately)
How We Chose These Luxury Bedding Sets
![line break line break](https://cdn.statically.io/img/hips.hearstapps.com/hmg-prod/images/house-beautiful-line-break-2023-656f3be020e13.png?crop=1xw:1xh;center,top&resize=980:*)
Several of my fellow House Beautiful editors, writers, and I tested the aforementioned sheet and duvet sets in our homes for a period of at least a few weeks to give us enough time to review them properly. Some of us, however, have had our beloved bedding for more than a year, so you know they're good. It's also a real testament to their durability and longevity. Like we say in the introduction, what is "luxury" to me may not seem so for you, depending on what you tend to like, so if you want to get a real sense of feel, make sure to look for the material used, which will give you better idea.
We also did not hold back on pointing out some pros and cons to each set for shoppers to consider, as this is the most realistic way to purchase products. It's up to you if the pros outweigh the cons for you and vice versa. Luckily, we just so happened to love all of the sheets and duvet sets we tested and plan on keeping them in our rotation for, well, as long as they'll last.
What to Look for When Buying Luxury Bedding Sets
![line break line break](https://cdn.statically.io/img/hips.hearstapps.com/hmg-prod/images/house-beautiful-line-break-2023-656f3be020e13.png?crop=1xw:1xh;center,top&resize=980:*)
Material: The material is arguably the most important element when it comes to buying luxury bedding sets. It will not only indicate softness (if it's really good, it will get softer with each wash—especially if it's linen) but also durability. Cheap sheets and duvet sets will degrade with each wash until it begins to tear at the seams when you dress your bed. The best materials are 100 percent of one material, like cotton or linen. When you see blends, that's an indication of a cheaper material. Anything that says 100 percent cotton, linen, silk, or anything else will hold up.
What's Included: Buying each piece of your bedding collection separately is definitely an option, but if you want to be economical, buy them in a set. With that in mind, pay attention to what's included. If you're buying a sheet set, does it include flat sheet? If you're going with a duvet set, are shams included? If not, that's not necessarily a dealbreaker, but you may not get the most bang for your buck.
Price: We've mentioned this a few times, but the price is not necessarily indicative of quality, so there's no pressure to spend a ton of money. Some of the best bedding we've tested is well under $100. Our advice is to read reviews, learn the material, and do some research before making your purchase.
