Design Around the World

For the past 125 years, House Beautiful has covered the best of American design. But any design lover knows that, when it comes to creative inspiration, there are really no borders. And, in an increasingly globalized world, it's never been easier to find inspiration from—or shop something from!—continents away. So, as we prepare to travel once again, we asked contributors, designers, and experts for the styles and traditions from outside the U.S. that everyone should know (plus a dose of context on how forces like appropriation and colonialism have shaped these styles and how we view them). Here is our World Tour.
