H3 welcomes all! Our schedules are designed to be tailored for each Individual. Whether you are a college student looking to learn how to live a healthy lifestyle on your own, or a full-time professional who needs a change of pace or a retired professional who needs a healthy refresher, we have got a program for you.
Hilton Head Health weight loss programs address the reasons for weight gain and unhealthy habits, not just the result. Our weight loss programs guide you to adopt new healthy eating habits, incorporate exercise and movement into your daily routine, and change the behaviors that can lead to diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and a host of other health problems. At Hilton Head Health, you will lose weight and learn to keep the weight off for the rest of your life.
Hilton Head Health has a 3 day minimum stay. Each program experience is dependent on the guest’s individual needs, fitness and health goals. For weight loss, we recommend one to six weeks. On average, most guests stay 14 days at our resort. Please call our Reservations Team for help determining the program length that best suits your needs.

Our goal is for you to establish a realistic fitness regimen that you will be able to continue at home. We offer a wide variety of fitness classes and activities for each fitness and ability levels. Those with physical limitations find that our individualized approach meets their needs.
Yes, If you are participating in one of our Weight Loss Programs. As a part of the experience at Hilton Head Health, each Lose Well and H3 Jump Start guest will receive a 45-minute Health Habit Review session focusing on goal setting, motivation, and individual screening results. Our Health Specialists are easily accessible and we encourage questions during seminars and group sessions.
Hilton Head Health weight loss spa provides vegetarian and vegan options on each of our True dining menus.
No. Hilton Head Health is not a medical facility and does not have a medical professional on staff. However, baseline blood tests (including cholesterol and fractions, triglycerides, and fasting glucose) will be provided to all guests participating in our Jump Start or Lose Well 4 programs. A comparative test will be done for those staying a minimum of 2 weeks. Guests in our wellness programs (LivingWell and Healthy Getaway) can purchase an assessment for an additional cost.
Yes, if you are participating in one of our Weight Loss Programs. As part of the experience at Hilton Head Health, each guest will receive a 45-minute session focusing on goal setting, motivation, and individual screening results. Our Health Coaches are easily accessible and we encourage questions during seminars and group sessions.

Yes. Both men and women attend our program. In fact, we encourage couples to come together.
You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in the Hilton Head Health programs.
Hilton Head Health has a 28′ x 56′ heated outdoor pool. The temperature is set to 85 degrees year-round, as recommended by the Arthritis Foundation.
Program fees are all-inclusive – everything you need for a great weight loss spa experience. Starting with transportation to/from local airports (SAV and HHH), our programs include accommodations, three healthy gourmet meals and snacks, and access to a wide variety of fitness classes are offered daily, as well as unlimited use of all fitness and recreation facilities.An array of participatory/educational sessions covering nutrition, fitness, disease prevention/management, cooking demonstrations, body image, emotional eating, stress and more are offered throughout the week, in addition to group sessions on stress management, motivation, support, and self-discovery.Not included, but available for an extra charge: Personal Training. Private consultations with our Registered Dietitian, Chef, or Behavioral Counselors. Cooking lessons with our executive chef. A variety of spa treatments, fitness excursions, and enhanced assessments. Specialty workshops. H3$ can be applied toward private services or special events. H3$ is nonrefundable and nontransferable.
LivingWell, LoseWell, JumpStart, and ReNew Programs start on Sundays. Healthy Getaways can begin on either Sundays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays.
Hilton Head Health’s accommodations are reserved for program participants and cannot be booked by outside parties. If a family member or friend, who is not participating in the H3 program, wishes to stay with you in your accommodations, they must be registered as your visitor. Contact reservations for full visitor policy and fees.
Yes. Should you decide you want to extend your visit, you must notify H3 and remit payment by noon 4 days prior to the intended extension. In-house extensions are subject to the current rate. Participation in the program is subject to availability and we cannot guarantee you will be able to stay in your original accommodations, but we will do our best to make your extension as seamless as possible.
The atmosphere of Hilton Head Island, as well as that of Hilton Head Health, is very informal.  Therefore, we recommend very comfortable, casual clothing.  Shorts and t-shirts are fine for summer months; sweatsuits for the cooler months.  Casual attire is also appropriate for our dining room.  Please come prepared for a rainy day or a chilly morning or evening. Well-fitting and comfortable exercise shoes are essential.  We even have a shoe-fitting expert available.  Exercise shoes are available for purchase. Please bring whatever you think might make your stay with us more comfortable.  Many guests enjoy having a favorite book, a writing journal, and a favorite music CD or iPod and headphones.  Also, remember your medications and the refill number.  Items such as expensive jewelry are unnecessary in the casual resort setting of the Island and the facilities.  We recommend that you leave all such items at home.For your convenience, our retail shop carries a variety of sundries, clothing and gift items. And note, towels are provided; however, if you have a favorite beach-size towel, feel free to bring it.
All stays are all-inclusive. However, Guests may choose to bring extra money for island recreation (golf, tennis and bike rental), spa services, consultations, shopping, movies and much more.
Yes, there is wireless access throughout the main facility. There is also a computer available in our Guest Business Center where you have 24-hour access. In addition, all accommodations have wireless internet access. We do not have a computer consultant on staff to help guests troubleshoot their computer settings or connections.
Depending on the dates of your stay and size of your dog, we may be able to accommodate you. Speak with your Program Consultant for details. There is the option to give your furry friend a vacation of its own by boarding him/her at Evergreen Pet Lodge, located here on Hilton Head Island. About the Sweetgrass Inn/Accommodations

Guests attending Hilton Head Health programs have the option to stay in our on-site Sweetgrass Inn (30-room private building with 3 room types), or a private 1-3 bedroom villa. All rooming options are smoke-free, and are available to program participants only – rooms may not be booked by outside parties.
The Inn is a 2-story structure that offers 3 room types and a total of 30 rooms. The rooms are spacious 325-650 sq. ft. and more than half will have washers/dryers in the room for your convenience.
The Inn features the following common areas:
  • Rocking Chair Porch overlooking H3’s pool deck
  • Gathering space for game nights, movie nights and more
  • Lobby/lounge to enjoy conversation with fellow guests
Rooms in the Inn are designed with 1 king bed per room and have a maximum occupancy of two. The Inn will not have adjoining rooms. Friends attending together are encouraged to share a 2- or 3-bedroom villa that provides a common space along with your own private bedroom and bathrooms.
Room upgrades may be offered based on availability.
The Sweetgrass Inn will have a ramp entrance and an elevator option for the second floor. There are also 2 fully handicap-accessible rooms on the main floor.
Hilton Head Health’s nutritional plan expands beyond flavor and nutrition – we promote mindful eating and enjoying the community around you. For this reason, room service will not be offered at the Inn.
While we will not accommodate pets in the Inn itself, we will continue to offer a dog-friendly accommodation option for those looking to bring a furry friend.
Guest rooms will be serviced twice per week – a tidy on Wednesdays and a full clean on Sundays. Guests will have the option to request additional service if needed.
Our Signature King rooms and Sweetgrass Suites will have washer/dryer units in the room for your convenience. Guests staying in a Comfort King Room will have access to a washer and dryer on their floor.
The Inn will not be staffed 24/7 – requests for clean towels, housekeeping service, etc. can be made during business hours to our Concierge team.
Guests planning to have visitors during their stay are required to register their visitor through Hilton Head Health’s Concierge team. All rooms in the Inn have a maximum occupancy of two and will not accommodate children. Guests who plan to have more than one visitor can reserve a Private Villa. While visitors are not granted access to Hilton Head Health’s campus amenities, they can participate in meals and spa services for an additional fee.

About the Island

Hilton Head Health, 14 Valencia Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928By Air: Hilton Head Island is served by two airports, Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) and Hilton Head Island Airport (HHH). Hilton Head Health’s drivers will provide you round trip transportation to and from Savannah International (SAV) or Hilton Head Island (HHH) airports between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm on Sunday and Wednesday. Additional taxi services and rental cars are available at both airports.By Car: From north or south, take I-95 to US 278 (South Carolina Exit 8). Follow US 278 east for approximately 17 miles until you reach Hilton Head Island. Continue on US 278 (William Hilton Parkway) for 10 miles. Turn left at the traffic signal into the Shipyard Plantation gate. Identify yourself as a guest and follow the signs to Hilton Head Health. (Note: On Hilton Head Island, the Cross Island Parkway offers an alternative to US 278, but requires a toll.) See our separate travel information and map.

Although a car is not a necessity, it is a convenience. Our accommodations are up to 1.2 miles from the main building. When staying in our accommodations, we offer complimentary morning and evening transportation to and from the main facility and your room. Most shopping, movies and various tourist attractions (including Beaufort, Savannah, and Charleston) are only accessible by automobile. Car rental is available locally at daily or weekly rates. There is local taxi service, but no other form of public transportation. A car pass for Shipyard Plantation is required. Simply mention that you are a guest at the security gate to receive a temporary pass. You will receive a pass for the duration of your stay upon check-in. Hilton Head Health weight loss spa provides transportation for sponsored group outings and to select locations on Hilton Head Island upon request.

Personal and business calls should be placed from and received at your villa.  Your villa phone number will be available upon check-in.  In addition, phones are available at the main building for personal calls.  All long-distance calls must be made by cellular phone, calling card, credit card or by placing a collect call.  We will be happy to take messages for you should callers not reach you in your villa.  We will post your messages on the message board in the main building.  Of course, in an emergency, we will locate you as soon as possible. Guests may take advantage of wireless internet in our main building as well as the Business Center, including computers available for Guest use.

Payment, Cancellation, and Check-In/Out

A $1000 deposit per person for each week reserved is due at the time of booking. A $500 deposit per person is due at the time of booking for H3 Healthy Getaway. The balance remaining is due at check-in. All fees are payable by cash, check, or credit card. All guests must present a major credit card for incidentals upon arrival which will be charged prior to departure.
Reservations can be changed or canceled at no charge up to 21 days before your scheduled arrival – deposit is fully refundable. For requests made within 8-20 days of arrival, the deposit, less a processing fee of $500 per week plus any Room Request fees, will be placed on file for use within 12 months. The deposit is forfeited for changes or cancellations made within 7 days of arrival.
There is no refund for early departures less than 7 nights. Special Program fees and Room Request fees are non-refundable. H3 Cash is non-transferable and non-refundable. For reservations longer than 7 nights, an early departure fee of $1000 per week will be applied to any additional full weeks that were previously booked.
Check-in any time after 11 AM on your day of arrival, and your room will be available at 4 PM. Check-out from your room by 10 AM. You may be at Hilton Head Health as late as 2 PM on your departure day. Lunch on the day of your departure is included in your package price.
Hilton Head Health is a private pay facility. We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and personal checks.
To see if a residential weight loss program is covered by your health insurance, you will need to check with your carrier. If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA), then all or a portion of our program could be a qualified medical expense. Our program is not covered by Medicaid or Medicare.
By viewing this website, requesting information or purchasing goods or services from Hilton Head Health, you:(1) Agree that the exclusive jurisdiction and venue for any and all disputes, claims and other actions between or by you, your heirs, successors and anyone else claiming by or through you, and Hilton Head Health, its employees, members, manages or affiliates (“Dispute”), shall be the state or federal courts sitting in Beaufort County, South Carolina;(2) Consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts and waive any objection to venue in any such Dispute; and(3) Agree that the laws of the State of South Carolina shall govern any such Dispute, except to the extent such laws would require another State’s laws to apply.
