EASTLEIGH will face League One side Exeter City in August as they aim to gear up for a successful season.

The Spitfires will make the trip to St James' Park on Saturday, August 3 with kick-off due to take place at 3pm.

It will be a tough test of Kelvin Davis' side ahead of the National League season which is due to commence a week later.

It will also be a return to the Grecians for Eastleigh's Jake Taylor, who played for the club 293 times across two spells.

He first turned out for Exeter during a loan spell in the 2011-12 campaign before re-joining the club in 2016, where he went on to captain the side between 2018 and 2021.

Fellow former Spitfires players Nigel Atangana, Luke Croll, and Aaron Martin - all released this summer - also spent time at the EFL club.

Exeter left-back Vincent Harper played for Eastleigh for two seasons before he joined his current side in June 2023.

The Spitfires have also announced pre-season games against Wimborne Town on Saturday, July 13, and National League South side Weymouth on Tuesday, July 23.

Chippenham Town announced they are due to face the Spitfires on Tuesday, July 30 at 7:30 PM, before taking on a Southampton under-21s side a few days later.

It will be the first pre-season in charge for Davis, who signed a three-year contract on April 23 to remain as Eastleigh boss after his successful interim period.

Speaking after signing his new deal, he said: "It is really important to understand that the project at Eastleigh FC is a big one and one we are really excited to get our teeth into.

"Myself and Danny (Butterfield) have seen the potential since we’ve come into the club.

"Every time I have been coming to the club, it’s taking steps forward each time.

"It is great that we can be part of the future of the football club and hopefully build something that can progress in the years to come.”

A National League fixture announcement has yet to be scheduled by the division.
