A POPULAR Turkish restaurant in a Hampshire village has closed its doors for the last time ahead of its relocation. 

Anatolian, in Winchester Road, Waltham Chase, is relocating to 24 High Street Southampton in September. 

The building in Waltham Chase was recently put on the market by Flude Property Consultants at £695,000 for the freehold. 

In a Facebook post, the restaurant said: “Exciting news! We’re relocating in September. We deeply appreciate all the support we’ve received and look forward to welcoming you to our new location, where you can continue to enjoy our authentic Anatolian cuisine!”

On the property consultant's website, it said: “The property is well located being directly on Winchester Road between Bishop's Waltham (1.2 miles north) and Wickham (3.3 miles south), while Junction 10 of the M27 is approximately six miles away.

“The property comprises a two-storey detached building which occupies a prominent position on the main road. Internally, the accommodation is configured as a large restaurant providing around 100 covers on the ground floor. There is a self-contained three bedroom flat on the first floor.
“Externally, there is a further 50 covers and parking for over 30 cars. There is also additional land on the south side which is currently not in use.”

It added: “We understand the restaurant use is established, but alternatively the site would lend itself to redevelopment as residential. Interested parties are advised to make their own enquiries to satisfy themselves in respect of planning issues.

“The property is currently let to a private tenant on a full repairing and insuring lease at a rent of £63,000 per annum exclusive, but they can leave if required.
