A shop with two successful branches in Romsey has moved to the unit of the former Casa Fina business near Salisbury Cathedral.

Kit and Caboodle has been open in Romsey for 16 years and has now opened a shop in the former Casa Fina unit on High Street.

Owned by Debbie and Adam Clemett who live in Stockbridge, this will be the third branch of Kit and Caboodle.

This isn't the first time Kit and Caboodle has been to Salisbury, as they opened in another part of town eight years ago but decided against renewing their lease.

Debbie, 56, said: "We did open eight years ago in Butcher Row but there just wasn’t the footfall. We decided not to sign up for longer but we wanted to come back to Salisbury.

"We’ve always loved Salisbury, it’s friendly and we love The Close, we come in and literally just have coffee and walk around the grounds."

The shop opened on Saturday, June 29 and has so far welcomed customers old and new.

Debbie added: "Lots of locals come this way, we've had nice mix of people. On Saturday we had some really lovely people in and local business came to say hello.

"We’ve had quite a few people in who recognise us!"

Casa Fina was owned by Susi Mason who closed the shop to retire.

The gift shop specialised in home accessories and had been trading in Salisbury since 1983.

As a friend of Debbie and Adam, Susi was said to be glad to be handing it over to somewhere with a similar style - Debbie said Kit and Caboodle shares the same "essence" as Casa Fina, as well as keeping some of the brands.

The new shop has a large range of toys, gifts, mugs, homeware, clothing and accessories, including some Salisbury souvenirs. Brands include Emma Bridgewater, Maileg and Miffy, with more to arrive at the branch soon.
