HOMEBASE has said that it has no plans to close its Winchester branch.
The DIY and home improvement chain has a shop in Easton Lane, Winnall.

Rumours of the branch’s closure began circulating on social media following the announcement that the nearby Halfords, in Moorside Road, Winnall, will close next month.
A Homebase spokesperson denied the rumours, saying: “These are just rumours – we have no current plans to close our store in Winchester.”
As previously reported, Halfords will close for good on July 5. This news came more than a year after Currys announced its closure due to rising rent costs.
