Cool off and kick back with summer fests, live music, local fare, cooler temps, and an all-around good time on Beech Mountain.

With seven feet of annual snowfall a year, Beech Mountain, North Carolina, may be best known as a favorite destination for skiing and other winter sports, such as snowboarding, ice skating, snowshoeing, sledding, and tubing. But during the summer months, music lovers head to the slopes for cooler temps, low humidity and live music events. Here’s your guide.

Annual Summer Concert Series

One of the most sought-after tickets is the Beech Mountain Resort’s Summer Concert Series. Performances are held at the base of the slopes, providing a natural outdoor amphitheater, so bring your camping chairs and blankets and enjoy a lineup of concerts that headline some of the biggest names on tour. This year is no exception with talents like Needtobreathe, Dispatch, Greensky Bluegrass, Yola, Maggie Rose, Sylvan Esso, and Soccer Mommy.

Dinner is $90 per person, which includes lift transportation and nonalcoholic beverages. Space is limited, and advance purchase is required.

Music on the Lawn

Beech Mountain is much more than just a ski resort. In summer, the town comes alive with musical events.
