More than 100 vendors, and music, dance performances at Black Pride March and Festival

Downtown Greenville will showcase the 2024 Black Pride March and Festival this upcoming weekend as Upstate Pride SC will host a celebration dedicated to freedom of gender expression and sexual identities along South Main Street on Saturday, June 29, beginning at 11 a.m.

Celebrating its fifth year in downtown Greenville, the Black Pride March and Festival will feature over 100 vendors, including food, beverages, and merchandise. It will also feature music by the ALLturnatives Band, comedy by Jas Gil, and various dance performances near 301 S. Main St. at Graham Plaza.

"This event is an opportunity to celebrate Black culture, something we can all experience and engage in a healthy way," said Caroline Caldwell, executive director of Upstate Pride SC. "It is an event that is open and welcoming to the entire community, just like all of the other wonderful festivals in Greenville."

The Black Pride March and Festival is part of Black Pride Week, which runs from June 23 through June 30. Events include a party, cookout, fitness session, networking event, and more.

Here is what visitors can expect to see at this weekend's 2024 Black Pride March and Festival:

Where is the Black Pride March and Festival happening?

The Black Pride March and Festival will take place on Saturday, June 29, along South Main Street in downtown Greenville.

The march begins at 11 a.m. near Main and Broad Street and will travel across Falls Park Bridge, and end near Falls Park Drive. The festival will kick off at noon near 301 S. Main St. at the Graham Plaza.

After the march and festival conclude, an official afterparty will be held at the Judson Mill Social Innovation Center, 701 Easley Bridge Road, Suite 6070.

What time is the Black Pride March and Festival?

The march will begin at 11 a.m., and the festival will start at noon and lasts until 6 p.m.

What roads will be closed during Black Pride March and Festival?

Court Street to Washington Street along Main Street will be closed from 8 a.m. until noon due to the TD Saturday Market.

There are no scheduled road closures for the Black Pride March and Festival according to the city of Greenville; however, expect heavy foot traffic around South Main Street, inbetween Main and Broad Street all the way to Main and Falls Park Drive.

What else is happening during Black Pride Week?

The Black Pride March and Festival are part of Black Pride Week festivities, which began on June 23 with a pride party and cookout and continued with two fitness sessions on June 25.

On June 26, a speed networking event and religious service will be held for Black Pride Week participants.

Black Pride Week will conclude with a drag brunch on June 30, after the Black Pride March and Festival on June 29.
