The Emmys is the small screen’s big night. Television’s equivalent to the Oscars, winning an Emmy is second to none for stars of shows such as Game Of Thrones and Pose. Last night the biggest names in acting were out in force, hopeful that they wouldn’t be going home empty-handed.

From Kit Harington in Givenchy and Alfie Allen to Andrew Scott and RuPaul, the purple carpet was awash with some of the best-dressed men in the world. Without further ado, here are the men who got it right on the night...

Andrew Scott

Frazer Harrison

Wearing Dior by Kim Jones (and styled by our very own Style And Grooming Director, Teo van den Broeke), Andrew Scott was every inch the sexy priest you know and love him as.

Kit Harington

VALERIE MACON

You may be used to seeing Kit Harington wielding a sword and looking deeply worried on screen, but off screen he was all smiles (this was prior to Game Of Thrones’ big win) - we assume because he’s perfected the ability to pull off an air tie and that he's in head-to-toe Givenchy.

Alfie Allen

John Shearer

An the award for the shiniest and arguably the best shoes on the red carpet goes to Alfie Allen. They’re a Dunhill creation, by the way.

Mahershala Ali

Steve Granitz

Wearing Ermenegildo Zegna XXX and Giuseppe Zanotti, Mahershala Ali proved that he’s still the coolest man to grace the red (or, in this case, purple) carpet.

Logan Shroyer

Steve Granitz

With the best hair going at the Emmys, Logan Shroyer was picture perfect in a Saint Laurent tuxedo.

RuPaul

VALERIE MACON

With RuPaul’s Drag Race UK hitting screens in just over two weeks, you’ll be seeing a lot more of this queen. We’re hoping his suits are as good as this one.

Billy Porter

Steve Granitz

Stealing the show as ever, Billy Porter served us gender-bending realness (as well as made history by becoming the first openly gay black man to win the Outstanding Lead Actor award). A scarf as a tie? Why not.

Antoni Porowski

Matt Winkelmeyer

Wearing Ralph Lauren and a superb Omega timepiece, Porowski traded in his kitchen attire in favour of something a little more Jay Gatsby-worthy.

Milo Ventimiglia

Axelle/Bauer-Griffin

Sure, the Brunello Cucinelli velvet tuxedo is working for us, but it’s really that perfectly slicked side parting that earned Milo Ventimiglia a place on this list.

William Jackson Harper

Kevin Mazur

*Puts in an order for a chocolate-brown Brooks Brothers suit*.
