This is a rich, rich dinner. But altogether delicious and the young servers clearly enjoyed working there and the atmosphere was convivial and fun. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a restaurant experience as much. And dinner for two that left us stuffed (with delicious wine), the bill came out to barely over $100.

Unfussy and uncomplicated, the cuisine prepared by the skilful young chef using top-quality ingredients makes this one of the best trattorias in Italy. House specialities include Milanese risotto with grilled marrow, vitello tonnato and, of course, the ever-present tripe!

The restaurant is acknowledged as one of Milan's finest trattorias, and as the name suggests chef Diego Rossi is not afraid of a bit of offal, keeping its eponymous tripe on the menu at all times, alongside grilled bone marrow.
