sj I don't know why I only picked 100, I know I'll up it. I think it's because I just want to exceed my own expectations.

Ashley Yeah, I'm actually hoping to read more than 125 and this way I have to do it.

You know what's super annoying? If you re-read books and set the date to the latest re-read, they take it away from your previous years. I actually completed the 2011 challenge with 125 books, but because I've since re-read 5 of them, they took my badge away from me :( Ever since that happened, I decided I would just have to exceed my goals so I could keep my badges.

They really need to figure out how to take re-reads into account.

sj You can get around it if you select a different edition, but it's kind of a pain in the ass. Like, I do most of my adding and updating from the iOS app, and you can't switch editions on that...so I'll have to make sure if I re-read things that I add them on the laptop to keep it from going away.

It helps that I read 47 books over my goal last year, though. Hee.

Ashley Yeah, I knew about that new edition thing, but I don't want to have a million different reviews for the same book. And I re-read certain books a lot! If I did that for every time I re-read HP, for example, Sorcerer's Stone would have at least ten separate reviews from me by now. And that just seems . . . dumb?

sj Heeeee! I totally understand. I might have to LOWER my goal to keep from going over. I'm the same way with Harry Potter, though. I don't even know how many times I've read those.

message 6: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Yeah, I've read them an obscene amount of times. I try to wait as long as possible between re-reads, but the most I've ever been able to make it is three years. The last time I did a re-read was in 2010, so yeah, that's about right then.

message 7: by sj (new)

sj That's the last time I read them! When we were waiting for them to come out, I'd read and re-read looking for clues. Finish 'em all and start right over at the beginning.
