Thomas How I got to this year's number: my overall favorite book of 2023, Sea Change by Gina Chung, has 288 pages, and one of my favorite K-Pop songs of 2023 is titled "C'Mon" by Jini, which has four letters. I divided 288 by four and got 72. Happy reading in 2024 everyone! :)

Andy Have you read The Only One Left from Riley Sager and Matthew Blake‘s Anna O? I want to order these two from Amazon but I dont know whether they are interesting.

message 3: by Thomas (new)

Thomas Nope I haven't read either of those Andy! Hope they turn out to be worthwhile if you decide to check them out.

Thanks so much Emily! Hopefully will keep it up at least somewhat during the year :)

Thank you for your support always Kelli!!

Ahlam Ummul-Khair I saw you surpass last year’s challenge! How did you do it? How do you have so much time to read?

message 8: by Thomas (new)

Thomas This is a great question! Hmmm I generally just make time for it. I read almost every night before I go to bed and I read on public transport. I don't watch much TV so I spend that time reading. I do enjoy spending time with friends though I also enjoy my alone time so a lot of that consists of reading too. Any tips you may have are also appreciated :)

Elijah Zarate Congratulations on reaching your reading goal, Thomas!!! And so quickly, too! Very impressive.

Out of curiosity, how many pages/how much time would you say you read per day? :)

message 12: by Anna (new)

Anna You’re fabulous! Your reviews always spark curiosity for me, and I think we share similar values so I’m often able to gauge my level of interest from your comments. Thank you for your meaningful contributions to Goodreads and congratulations on meeting your goal! Maybe you need a half year reading challenge :)

message 13: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Wow amazing job! You know, I recently realized that when I first started following you on here, I was in 8th grade. And now I’m almost 30! It’s been great growing as a reader and watching your evolution as well.

Thanks Elijah! And great question, I don't know if I have an average page or day count but I feel like over the past two years I've read around a book every two or three days, it's just been my habit. Though maybe 2020-2022 I was averaging about 95-105 books per year so... thanks for making me pause and reflect!

Awww so glad my reviews can be helpful and I'm so appreciative that you consider them in what you read! And haha yeah I know, I feel like I try to set it lower so I don't overshoot haha.

Omg this made me pause and reflect, thank you Rachel! This is funny because we both joined Goodreads in February 2019 and I was also in eighth grade, and I just turned 29 a week and a half ago and will turn 30 next year. So glad we've been connected through all these years. :)
