If you want a short, uncomfy and absolutely revolting read, heavily peppered with misogyny, torture, rape, animal and child abuse, and many other forms of brutality.. then go for it, I guess🤷🏼‍♀️ I, however, want to vomit and never will read it again. I think the violence and cannibalism was way over the top and grotesque. The author even goes into the whole slaughterhouse process in detail. Honestly, I

First read this book in 2006 and would have given it 5/5⭐. Just now re-read as a memory refresher to determine if I should give it as a gift to my niece. Imma give it a 3/5⭐ this time around. 17 years has definitely made a difference for me. Still a great story for a pre-teen, especially considering the author was 15 years old when he wrote this book. A good entry into the fantasy realm, and an easier read than LotR.
