it was amazing
I really loved everything about this book! I was very interested in finding out more about the Spanish American War and the history of Cuba’s independence. I had no idea about the tragic history of the reconcentration camps and the infamous women’s prison from which Evangelina Cisneros escaped from and how she was compared in this book to Helen of Troy. The reason why this book is getting four stars instead of five is because the author is a man writing from a young woman's pov and obviously does not know how to write about young women.
