I just saw that Joe Hill is the saon of Stephen King. Did anyone know that?? He sorta looks like him too!

Holy cow, I had forgotten about that! Growing up near Bangor I used to play some sports against his younger brother, Owen. This makes me more excited to read it. I should be able to start by Friday or so.

Well maybe if you had a boring job like me and rode 3 hours on the train a day maybe you could LOL

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha. I could take that! I get about 1 1/2 hours on most days. I wish I didn't have to waste my time driving.

And I qish I drive (sometimes) One day I will learn LOL

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok, so I started this morning. We should be able to discuss by early next week!

message 10: by Cheri Howard (new)

Cheri Howard I too spend close to 3 hrs a day on the train! I usually hate it, but it does allow me to get a lot of reading in!

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

I liked riding the trains in Boston. I guess the ability to read trumps dealing with weirdos. And I don't have to worry about creepy dudes staring at me like you gals probably do.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Now I understand why joe is so talented at writing creepy novels, like father like son!

Jeremy that is so neat that you know the Kings. His younger brother writes too.

So far I really like this book. But i tried to read last night before bed (it doesn't help that it was really windy & the power line was hitting my house by my room) and I really got the creeps so had to switch to something different so i could sleep. I think I have to read this in the day. This seems like a really fast read.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

I think if I got the creeps I'd be excited. A book hasn't gotten to me like that in awhile.

I didn't actually know the Kings. I just pitched against Owen, caught a couple of his line drives, played freshman basketball against him and saw his parents at some of the games. I'm sure he wouldn't recognize me!

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, it's still really neat. so did you get Owen king out? Sounds like it.

My only claim to meeting an author is rather embarrassing. But here goes about 10 years ago I worked at Costco as a cashier. I love reading Richard Paul Evans books. At that point I had read all of them. So this lady and man are in my line & on her card it says Christmas Box Corp. which is owned by Richard Paul Evans and I said Oh I absolutely love Mr. Evans books. I went on the whole time I was checking them out then asked her if she ever met Mr. Evans. She said he's my husband. The man with her started laughing, Yeah it was Richard Paul Evans. I thoguht I was going to die. I never bothered to look at his picture on the back of the books I just read the books. I am sure he laughed the whole way home thinking how could she not recognize me! PRetty funny now!

Okay a little frustrated with the ghost chasing Jude and Georgia! I think it was creepier in the begining, now I am still mesmerized but don't need to read it in the daylight.

That is too funny Emilee! I too would be sorta embarassed but Oh well!! It makes a great story.

I was very busy this weekend and am still reading it!! God, this book is taking me forever to read. But it was my b-day over the weekend so I am entitled...right?

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Happy B-Day Donna!!! Belated, of course. I managed to plow through the book mostly because I was able to find time that I normally don't have. For instance, I took yesterday off to saw wood and was done by 1pm. Although I was physically exhausted it gave me extra time to read!

Emilee, that is a great story. It is neat to think that someone who publishes novels can hang out at bookstores. To answer your question, as a pitcher on j.v. I threw a curve ball that Owen got his bat on. He hit a grounder to first that my 1st basemen booted. I don't know why I can even remember! I never pitched on varsity but I as the center fielder I figured out at some point that when he did get ahold of the ball he hit low line drives to left center. So I would play way in on him and I robbed him a couple of times. This was at Bangor's field that Stephen King had built. An amazing field with lights and all. At one game King was up in the stands. He didn't seem to be paying attention all that much (Owen was not a starter), but I do remember him yelling out a few times, almost taunting us. At a high school basketball game (I was a fan not a player) Tabitha was obnoxious as a fan!

THX Jeremy!! I am determined to finish this book today and I will start a new poll at the end of the week but I think I might change the rules a little bit and only accept the first 4 requests.

What does everyone think on this???

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Hmmmmmmmmm...so it is limited to only the first four who are online after you post it?

Donna (dfiggz) | 3119 comments Mod
Yea. What do you think? Or should I stick to letting all of us do it?

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

I would go ahead and let everyone submit a choice within a short timeframe. But in all reality, it is no big deal to me either way!!
