Barbara VA (barbarava) I like to start at the beginning and then move around. So, I completed 5.1 Heat Wave by reading Heat by Bill Buford.

I love Kitchen memoirs (I have at least 2 more in my Summer stash!) Buford writes of New York City, Mario Batali, Italy, Pasta and Catharine d'Medici. What more could I ask for?

5.2 Blockbuster Books
I read The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan, which relates to Prince of Persia - a prince and princess teaming up to save the world from an evil god. Probably not an Oscar-winner, but seems like a good popcorn movie...and I can't say I object to two hours of a shirtless Jake Gyllenhaal. :)

Cindy AL (cangelmd) | 645 comments Jen B, I saw Prince of Persia this weekend, and while it won't win any Oscars, it was better than I actually expected. Unfortunately, the completely shirtless shots of Jake Gyllenhaal were many less than expected, :(. Lots of good close ups though.

Angie (tikkledpink) | 37 comments 15.3 - Books and Blogs
Alice I Have Been by Melanie Benjamin
-blogged at http://urlPass.com/4wad

I would've given this book 1 star until I read the author's note at the end of the book. Apparently this book is a historical fiction. Who would've thought that the Alice from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland / Through the Looking-Glass was a real person who inspired the story! Kind of cool, eh? So now I give it 2 stars... although interesting that she was real, her life wasn't really that interesting.

30.5: Virtual Block Party
A Mango-Shaped Space (book with food in the title) and Like Water for Chocolate: A Novel in Monthly Installments with Recipes, Romances, and Home Remedies (book with recipes)

To the party, I'm going to bring tasty chilled fruit, including sliced mangoes! There's nothing like cold fruit to battle the mugginess of summer, at least in my opinion. I'd love to prepare one of the recipes from Like Water for Chocolate, but I'm just learning how to cook, so I doubt anyone would want to EAT whatever I made!

Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11182 comments This is my first challenge and I'm already having fun. I've been making lists for a week and the only thing I like doing better than reading is making book lists ;o). Tonight I finished my first task:

15.3 - Books and Blogs

I read All Together Dead by Charlaine Harris for this task. SuziQOregon, of the blog Wimpulsive (http://www.whimpulsive.net/2010/05/al...), is also working her way through this series. We have very similar taste in books and I often look to Wimpulsive when I want to round out my TBR list (and it's very round ;o)).

In this installment of the series, Sookie travels far from home to attend the Vampire Convention at the request of Louisiana's Queen. Of course, things are not as simple as they seem and Sookie gets into all kinds of trouble. The result is a fast-paced, fun read.

I'm really enjoying this series and have managed to cram the rest of the books into the summer challenge ;o).

It is part of a series of friends who run a wedding planning company. It follows each of them in turn. The first book follows the photographer.
