Cozy anything isn't really my jam -- cozy romance, cozy mystery, cozy fiction in general. But, I do love adorable, endearing characters and a found family. And in these respects, Vera Wong delivered.

Vera Wong owns a tea shop in Chinatown in SF. She is widowed, her only son is (quite honestly) kinda shitty, and her life if a bit lonely. Then, she comes to her tea shop one morning to find a dead body. She calls the cops, but not before taking a flashdrive from the dead man's hand, which launches her into her own murder investigation -- and into an unlikely friendship with her top four suspects: Oliver, the dead guy's brother; Julia, the dead guy's wife; and Sana and Riki, two people the dead guy screwed over.

The books was cute, the killer obvious, the actions completely unrealistic, the emotions devoid of any actual emotion, and everything tied up in a nice bow. But, given this is a cozy mystery, all of those things were anticipated so didn't really impact my review.

Overall, if you like cozy mysteries or just want something lighter that will leave you with a warm, fuzzy feeling, then I recommend hanging out with Vera Wong.
