As one of the moderators, this seems like alot of work to me. Maybe Heena or Dagny would be interested in doing this, but I'd like to keep things simple.

Fair enough
Joanne - I guess the comment is deleted now (have no idea who did it) but I did read it a while ago, sorry for replying now (I'd been busy taking care of my new puppy.)
I liked your idea a lot, loved it in fact, but as Cheryl rightly said, it's a lot of work for the moderators. I earlier thought of something similar - about having a score-system where we'll have a winner at the end of the year, but that seemed like a lot of work for the readers as well.
I'm in on this idea of keeping scores if the readers are okay to keep a tab on their personal tallies.
Maybe we can discuss this idea further and make it a bit simple and have it from next year (so that everyone can join in since the beginning.)
What do say Dagny and Cheryl?

That is fine with me. I've seen some groups make a Folder for counting tallies, with separate threads for each member participating. The member can then go to their thread and post the books and points for each book there in the thread. That way, it is maintained by the members but points can be verified by the Moderators.

I didn't delete it, I just replied to it. Unless I accidentally touched both when I touched Reply (using a tablet touch screen). If that happened, I am sorry for the mistake.

I deleted it, I kinda agreed with Cheryl in the end it was a bit over the top but I can repost it if you like.

1) Books must be at least 200 pages long. Eligibility for this is determined by the most popular edition on Goodreads. If the most popular edition is 197 pages, it will not count, even if the edition read is 215 pages.
2) The first book used for the challenge should be started on or after January 1st.
3) Audiobooks are accepted. Page numbers are determined by most popular edition on GoodReads.
4) Books from an genre
5) Participates can join at any time during the challenge.
SCORING / HOW IT WORKS:
Each book that fulfills a century will be counted as 10 points.
Winter theme bonuses: You can claim 5 point bonus for each of the following. You can only claim each bonus once during the challenge. You may only claim one book per bonus
a. Read a book set in winter.
b. Read a book with a winter scene on the cover.
c. Read a book where one of the author's initials is in the word WINTER.
d. Read a book set in North America.
e. Read a book set in South America.
f. Read a book set in Europe.
g. Read a book set in Africa.
h. Read a book set in Asia.
I. Read a book set in Australia.
4) Book Length Bonus:
Bonus points will be awarded based on the length of each book read, as follows:
200 to 300 pages = 2 bonus points
301 to 500 pages = 4 bonus points
501 to 750 pages = 6 bonus points
751 to 1,000 pages = 8 bonus points
1,000+ = 10 bonus points
Anyhow I agree with Cheryl it needs to be simplified a lot lolol.
Here's an example of how it will look when reported:
The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman
20th Century-10 points
343 pages- 4 points
Bonus I: 5 points
Total: 19 points

Kg,
This is not the place to promote your website. If you have a book to promote, we have a thread for that.
