Dialogue was pretty cringey but a cute lil fantasy book. Only one thing was itching at me and it’s that I think there was an age discrepancy for a background character. I read this like 7 times and still can’t figure out how I’m reading this wrong:

“Her name was Chi, and she was 35”

But then a later sentence said, “..her family had moved to London when she was 10. Now, twelve years later, she sounded as English…”
