lazy and predictable for me bc if in detective the narratow radically conviences you in something, it is obvious that the truth is the opposite.
What I didn't like:
-the lack of depth in characters
-inconsistency in pacing. The last 100 pages were the most fast-paced, and the rest were so slow and ridiculous. I was soo bored till 90%
-Bel who hated her mum without a single reason, and immediatly changing her mind in the end.
-Charlie's motivation
-detective component. Camon I guessed who is the villlain from the first 100 pages. In aggtm we knew everything the main character knew: we had maps, pictures, interviews and could make theories by ourselves, but hear 90% something happenes, and only in the end we got to know the whole picture.
-unnatural and simple denouement without any consequences
-super repetetive writing
-Bel being annoying
what I liked:
-girl power thing that we can see in every Holly Jackson's book.
-the transition of Rachel into Mum
-Ash was cute with his sweaters, clumsiness, and t-shirt Pugs Not Drugs
-romance was okay
-Bel overcoming her fear of being abandoned
something idk what to feel is booktok books, tiktok and twitter references.
