it was amazing
bookshelves: to-read, favorites

There are not enough words to describe how much The Hero and the Crown and the Blue Sword changed me as a child. I went from reading almost entirely non-fiction field guides about animals and dinosaurs to devouring every fantasy book I could get my hands on after reading these.

Rebecca Skidmore Me too! 'The Hero and the Crown' and 'The Blue Sword' are my ultimate go-to books for any time in my life. 'The Blue Sword' is beyond any doubt my favorite book. All worth the read!!!

ChrissymurfGmail.Com Agree. There aren't enough words to describe how well- written these books are. Robin McKinley is a detailed, intricate story writer. I especially like how Ms. McKinley writes with strong female protagonists and there is no foul language. Im fact, she has the wonderful ability to create her own fantasy vocabulary. Ms. McKinley was doing "Harry Potter " quality, long before the Harry Potter series came along. If you want a well-woven tale or several, by all means, pick up The Blue Sword, The Hero and the Crown, Spindle's End! They are not an easy read, but a delicious and wonderful read! Enjoy reading the first "Hari!"
