it was amazing

This is the first book in the Lovely Lethal Gardens series. When I first read about this book, I wasn’t very interested in reading it. I don’t really like the amateur sleuth genre. Since I love Dale Mayer’s other series I decided to give it a chance and I’m glad I did. Doreen was a trophy wife that never had to do anything for herself. After her separation, she needs to learn how to take care of herself. She moves into her grandmother’s house and finds that she has a cat and parrot in addition to her dog. The animals provide humor, while the dog finds dead bodies, the parrot is always talking with lines that make you think he isn’t just mimicking what he hears. Doreen starts clearing out some of the clutter in the house and turns up clues to the murders. While driving Mack the RCMP investigator crazy, she actually helps to solve the murder or as it turns out 3 murders. This is another hit series and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Loved this book and Doreens interraction with Mugs, Thaddeus and Goliath. Plan to read Bones In The Begonias soon. Barbara
