TORCH simply burns, in all the best ways. it's everything you've come to love and expect from the brilliance of Sabaa Tahir, except BETTER. twisty, turny awesomeness abounds on every single page. and you will not want to keep turning them until the tale is over.
the wonderful thing about A TORCH AGAINST THE NIGHT is that--though it never shies away from depicting cold brutality--the nuances of emotion are just as deeply felt. just as passionately rendered. you will yell at your favorite characters, laugh with their loved ones, and perhaps even shed a tear or two for a villain.
this book is even better than EMBER. and THAT'S saying something.

It's good to know somebody liked the book so much! I was a little scared because several reviews said the plot twists were too much and the romance (the main reason I want to read this book) is "all over the place", what do you think?

My Barnes and Noble shelved it early so it picked it up today and finished it a couple of minutes ago. It was good. Not sure I think it was magnificent. Stoked about the character development this book. Really well done. The ending though kind of just left me feeling meh.
Do Elias and Laia get together? Lol
Great review! Can you read this one without having read Ember in the Ashes??
2 pages in and I say no! It drops you off right where ember ended.
