It's been sitting on my bookshelf unopened ever since, waiting for its moment. Which will never happen.
We've been having a highly interesting discussion over on the thread to Bill Kerwin's excellent review the last day or two. If this sort of message resonates with you: "each of us has his own Personal Legend, and that if we recognize that legend and pursue it sincerely, everything in the Universe will conspire to help us achieve it," then have at it. Go find yourself, or your legend. Maybe it helps some people break out of their cocoons or ruts.
Personally, I call BS on this kind of thinking. But then I hate self-congratulatory and self-indulgent "find yourself" books. "Sorry, honey, kids, I'm not fulfilled. I'm going to go find myself."
My MIL, I'm sure, will be delighted to get her copy of this book back in such pristine condition....more
