“You can’t run far, far away. You promised to take care of me while I take care of everyone else. I need you here for that.”
This was better than previous book. I had no expectations but just wanted to read a book about a teacher and a student and this delivered that trope.
I usually have no problem with insta-love trope in Devney's books because she knows her way around this trope but I don't why it bothered me in this book. Maybe because it was more of a love at first sight and call me a cynical or sceptical or whatever but I just don't believe in this type of love. And Toren and Jennsyn had exactly that. They did developed some emotional connection over the time and that's why I liked it better in the second half of this story. The romance was fine. There is chemistry and sexual tension and all the ignited sparks between Toren and Jennsyn. But their denials and back and forth were tiresome.
“I can’t stop thinking about you.” His voice was no more than a murmur. “You were supposed to fade away.” “So were you,” I whispered.
Toren was fine. I liked him better than Ford of course. He was kind and attentive and I liked the way he cared about Jennsyn.
Jennsyn was a little lost about her future and career as a professional Volleyball player and I liked how she navigated her way through it and did what felt right to her.
“Why did you come to my game?” “Don’t make me answer that.”
Overall, Blitz was a sweet, spicy and forbidden romance story with an enjoyable plot and interesting characters. I am excited for Rush's book! Devney has been teasing us with all these little snippets in this series and though accidental pregnancy is not my type but I just want to read it for Rush. I like that boy already so much....more

“With my name on her back and my son in her arms, Miller stands in the center of the field, looking like mine.”
I am finding my happy and comfort place in this series. Each new book in this series brings so much warmth, joy and contentment in my life. It's like being wrapped up in your favourite worn out cozy blanket on chilly autumn days and it's the best feeling ever.
Liz Tomforde and men written by her have a special place in my heart. She truly writes the best contemporary romances filled with swoon-worthy moments, wholesome and emotional found family moments, a hopeful and beautiful romantic story giving us all the soulmatism vibes. She is the queen of writing green flags and I am mesmerised by her ability to create characters like Ryan Shay and Kai Rhodes, who are the definition of gentlemen. This series is one of the healthy ones I have ever read.
“You think you can keep this casual, Mills?” I nod frantically, hoping to convince both of us. His laugh is silent but rumbles against me. “Best of luck to you with that.”
Liz portrayed unexpected responsibilities in life and how sometimes some people completely change the axis of your whole life, in this case it was Max and how him coming in Kai's life was the biggest yet the best thing to ever happen in such a realistic manner. To see their father-son relationship and how they have support, love and care from everyone around them was everything. I love it when kids in books are an essential part of the story and Max is one of most important part of Miller and Kai's story. He is the one who brought them together and deepened their emotional bonding. Their mundane and special family moments together were everything, especially, those baking lessons. I have a serious baby fever because of this book now because Max is the cutest and funniest kid ever.
“This wild woman is my son’s calm. And in a lot of ways, I think I might be hers.”
➸ Miller Montgomery is struggling in her career due to the burnout so she decided to become a nanny for Kai's son, Max, and to stay close with her dad. I love Miller's character so much. She is a badass woman, the life of the party, has witty banter skills and a reckless and wild side that just made me love her even more. But mostly she is compassionate for the people she loves and she'd do anything to protect them. And the way she fell in love with Max and Kai at the time? It was everything. I love her relationship with Max and it was sweet to see her develop this motherly bond with Kai's son when all she ever wanted was an unattached life but little did she know that she was about to be caught up by two boys who'll become her whole world.
“I have a new dream now. You and Max are my dream.”
➸ Kai Rhodes is my dream man. Single dads are my kryptonite and Kai is the definition of a dad and a gentleman. The man who loves with every fiber of his being. The way he is raising his son is commendable, and though he has his self-doubts and fears, he always tries his best for Max. Kai never felt enough since he became a dad, he was always the one who helped others and it was hard for him to ask for help from others and to see him get help from Miller without asking her because she's just amazing like that just made my heart swell. I liked how he came out of his 'I am just a dad' zone and remembered who he is as a person with Miller's help. The confident and self-assured man with a thoughtful and kind personality. And the things he did for Miller? How he was always so supportive of her career and how he helped her with her recipes. I couldn't help but love him in this book.
“If she’d let me have her, she’d be mine. I love the girl, and I try to show her through my actions, but if she ever gave me the green light, I’d tell her too.”
: ̗̀➛ Kai and Miller
Kai and Miller are soulmates for sure. Two people crossing paths for a two short months and discovering the meaning of love and family together. Kai who always felt alone in his responsibilities and Miller who is always striving for next goal in her life but never felt enough but they reminded each other how important and loved they are with flaws and all. They found something special and their own together and it was amazing to see them explore their growing love and grow together as a family. How Miller helped Kai feel more than just a dad and how Kai made sure Miller realised that she is loved and cherished and that her worth is not derived just from her career and goals. Also, the angst and impending decisions related to Miller's career only heightened the tension and connection between them. I love seeing them fall for each other but mostly I loved how Miller fell in love with Max and treated him as his own child all the time. I loved how they both showed and accepted each other's vulnerable facets of life and helped each other in figuring out their lives.
“Miller,” he says, making sure my attention is on him. “If you ever decide to stop running and make a home . . . Make it with me.”
Their romance is a balance of wholesome, spicy, vulnerable and emotional moments. It was exceptional and beautifully crafted with one of my favourite tropes of all time, single dad. The found family arc that is weaved in the core of this story giving it a very nostalgic and home like feeling. The slow-burn is exquisitely builded-up with the tangible and effervescent sexual tension and growing emotional intimacy and vulnerability between the main characters. To simply say, it was pure perfection.
“You’re my favorite person, Miller, and for once I had someone for me. I had someone taking care of me. After being alone for so long, I finally had someone looking out for me.”
This review won't be complete without me writing about Monty because this man is perfect! I need Liz to write his book because he deserves his own love story. He is the inspiration for all the dads in the world because he raised his girlfriend's daughter all by himself and even though he made many sacrifices he never stopped working hard for her and raised Miller with so much love and care. It takes love and efforts to be a dad.
“She’s not my blood, but she’s my girl,” Monty says from beside me. “And she looks at your boy, who is not her blood, in the same way I look at her.”
Their love confession is one of my favourite chapter because it was so beautifully written. The epilogue was perfect. Liz writes one of the best epilogues ever. I am so excited for Isaiah's book though I was not his biggest fan in this book. But accidental marriage in Vegas is a delicious trope and in Liz Tomforde we believe. She can do wrong in my eyes.

My first book by Elizabeth O'Roark and it was a complete disaster. There were some things I enjoyed, but mostly this book was boring and frustrating. I should've started her books with 'The Devils' series but my mood reading habits are a curse so what else can I do.
I was promised an angsty summer read and I hoped to atleast like the story but the majority of this book was nothing. The pacing was off and the slow-burn build up was tedious and left me feeling nothing. Liam and Emerson had chemistry but mostly it was because of how much they did not liked it each other and it was getting repitive.
Emerson wanted revenge from the small town she lived in, Elliot Springs, so she tried to buy everything in that town to change it's history or something. I don't remember much but it was something like that. She wanted revenge because she was bullied in high-school by everyone in that town as she was a plus size girl and everyone around her made fun of her for it, even her mother bullied her. I really felt bad for her but that doesn't justify the decisions she made in this book. She was frustrating me with how much she let others have control of her emotions. I get she felt like her revenge plan was the only thing that would make her feel better but what after that?
Liam was fine. He wanted to save the town he grew up in but also couldn't decide if he wanted to Emerson first. He did some good things in this book but I still don't like him that much.
The reveal in the ending was out of nowhere. It wasn't even that shocking honestly. There was no development in Emerson's character and she was still the same girl she was in the starting of this book except the revenge part. I can only hope for the previous books to be better....more

“How many times in your life will you ever meet someone who was made for you? And how do you possibly walk away if you find her?”
I haven't completely lost my faith in this series because this was definitely better than the other book. What truly intrigued me in this book was that the female protagonist is not a protagonist at all, she is portrayed as a villain in her story, with a heavy and broken background that reflects her choices in present timeline. I liked Kate's character a lot, I haven't read 'The Summer I Saved You' and I should've read that first because this book is highly connected with that story, but it still doesn't change my feelings for Kate.
The story is about forgiveness, healing and creating something beautiful after loss. Kate and Beck both led a hard life. They both know what grief and regrets feel like, what not being loved feels like. Beck has always been in love with Kate (Beck's bestfriend's wife) and it is a trope that I don't like, but Elizabeth did a wonderful job with this trope.
“I don’t need to impress him or win him over and he doesn’t need to impress me either. He’s okay with me exactly as I am, something I don’t think I’ve ever had with anyone else“
Kate wanted nothing but a second chance at a life she almost had but lost a few years back, and she want that with no one else except her husband, Caleb. Kate did so many questionable things in this book to get Caleb back, but I understand why she did those things. Kate never had a family, and she desperately clung to the hope of finding it with Caleb, she never had healthy coping mechanisms because of the things she went through in her life.
She thinks she's always suppose to be the villain in her own story so she became exactly that, but inside she was hurting for years, no one saw that except Beck and he really helped her with her healing and moving on process. I liked how her character wasn't magically redeemed in the end, how her addiction after her rehab didn't cured just after being done with rehab because that only made her character more real.
“It was about Hannah, not Caleb. Everything was about Hannah.”
Beck was amazing. The way he loved and saw both good and bad, light and darkness in Kate from the very first moment he met her was everything. He loved her truly and wholeheartedly no matter who she became but he also helped her in becoming a better version of herself and that's the truest form of love.
“I wasn’t waiting for him to change his mind. I was waiting for you to change yours.”
: ̗̀➛ The romance served in this book. The chemistry between Kate and Beck was palpable from the start, brimming with tension and hidden desires they craved for each other. But there is also an emotional intimacy between these two, the way they understood and trusted each other. It was so sweet. Their journey to find their happy life is heartbreaking and frustrating, filled with so many gut-wrenching moments and mistakes, but never stopped fighting for it and that's all that matters.
“I can say that sometimes from darkness a beautiful thing emerges, something you’ll call your own. And the man in front of me, and the future we share, is mine.”
My issue with this book is that I needed more domestic or cute moments between Kate and Beck because once they started having sex it was all there was to read about.
The epilogue was everything and the perfect ending for Kate and Beck's story. They deserved it and it was simply so sweet and beautiful....more

“Collisions on crossroads. West and I were nothing but collisions on crossroads.”
Devney Perry never fails to capture my attention when it comes to small town romances. She is one of the best in this genre and I enjoy the way she creates the small town in her books, captures its beauty and the comforting quality in her books. The urge to leave everything behind and settle in a small town in Montana is so real right now.
Crossroads is the first book in Haven River Ranch series, it's a story about second chances, beautiful and ardent blooming friendship that begin in main protagonists' childhood and slowly thrived into something more passionate and intimate as they began spending their summers together in Haven River Ranch. It was just a week long vacation but West and Indya always had this undeniable chemisty that they couldn't deny even as kids. But their love story was cut short due to some unfortunate events. Years later they found themselves again in Haven River Ranch, Indya is hell bent on making West's ranch a thriving business even if it meant him hating her, but can he really hate the only girl he's ever loved?
“When Indya Keller was in Montana, she was mine. Even when she wasn’t.”
Indya Keller is a determined girl who won't back down from anything until she see it to its fruition. She had hidden her vulnerable side for so long, refusing to let others see her pain and trauma and it takes her a while but she finally gets the peace she needed.
“I’d loved West Haven for what felt like my entire life. Even though I’d never said the words. Even though I’d never made him a promise. Even though I’d married another man. West was mine. Even though he wasn’t.”
West Haven was sweet and kind-hearted with a little grumpiness that makes him a perfect cowboy in a small town romance book. He was patience with Indya but I would've liked him more had he not kept things hidden from her.
“I have loved you since I was ten. Since you left a paper airplane and flowers in my fort. I love you. I have always loved you.”
The angst is one of the main component of this romance story and it was palpable from the very start, but there is also a sweetness, comfort and understanding simmering beneath all that animosity and pain and it only made West and Indya's dynamics more appealing.
“Kissing Indya was as natural as breathing. It should be. I’d been kissing her since I was a kid.”
I liked the ending, it was satisfying. My main issue with this book was the pacing and the misscommunication trope. I am excited to see what Devney's going to serve us with Jax and Sasha's story, not a fan of accidental pregnancy but Devney can write one hell of a book from any trope....more

“Even though we’ve only known each other such a short time, my heart knows her. My soul knows her.”
Meghan Quinn and her romcom works like magic for me whenever I need something light and funny with all the cute and wholesome moments between the main characters.
Pacey and Winnie were perfect as individual and as couple. They had chemistry, sparks, tension filled moments and the friendship that's so comforting and precious. I liked how their relationship progressed at a slow pace and how they learned small things about each other before committing to each other. The first dates, the anticipation of first kiss and hugs — everything was so cute.
Winnie was an amazing character and she was mature unlike other characters in Meghan's books. Winnie came across as this real, young woman who’s had a rough time and yet is trying to pick herself back up and find some direction. I love how she slowly shows her true personality once she comes to feel comfortable with Pacey I liked how supportive she was and how she cared for everyone. Pacey was a gentleman. He liked Winnie from the start but atleast he wasn't thinking about her body all the time and his thoughts were always about how amazing she was. It was adorable.
I liked their friends group and I can't wait to read Halsey's book. I liked their fun games, their fights and banter.
This book felt a bit long and I was really bored in the middle when nothing was happening. Also, the third-act breakup was really weird considering the reason behind it. Overall, an enjoyable read and I hope I find my favourite book in this series soon....more

“I’m in love with a dream, with a man who isn’t real, and there isn’t any coming back from it.”
Living a dream life in dreams or dreaming a real life in dreams?
This book in simple words is magical and breathtaking. This is my first Sarah Ready novel and my very first book that has magical realism as one of its main settting, and it is a masterpiece in this genre. The story is a unique combination of dream and real life that left me with feelings like warmth, happiness and nostalgia.
Sarah Ready is an incredible writer, with her unique story-telling and incisive and profound narrative, she weaved a story of a woman learning to dream and then falling in love with the man of her dreams in her dream life. It's incredibly complex yet intriguing with every passing chapter, you will find yourself reading it without stopping because the story has a quiet hypnotic rhythm to it, with its tropical paradise setting in dreams, and cozy and comforting vibes of Geneva, Switzerland, you will get sucked right into the pages of this book.
“You forget everything you experienced, everything you knew in the dream world. Sometimes you’ll remember a flash. Sometimes you’ll remember a feeling. But mostly, you forget everything. You forget your dreams. You don’t take them with you into real life.”
The plot twists are perfectly executed with no plot hole galores. The anticipation of finding the truth behind those dreams Fiona is dreaming and to know what had led her to dream about that tropical island and Aaron left me with thrilling excitement. The story stirred a spectrum of perplexing emotions inside me from nostalgia to adoration to agonising emotions. There is also drama and comedy involve, brought in by nuanced side-characters. The scenery also has all the summery and cozy atmospheric vibes that are brought to life by Sarah's vivid details in her story-telling.
➸ Fiona Abry is a heiress of a Swiss watchmaker. Fiona is an intelligent and confident woman, an incredible single mother. But she forgot what it truly felt like to dream, to trust and to fall in love. This is where a mysterious and magical watch enters, a classic and family heirloom that lets her live her greatest desires of real life in her dreams. But what happens when said dreams feels like reality, when Fiona starts irrevocably falling for the man of her dreams in her dreams, a man who is just a figment of her desires and need but feels real. Fiona has everything she wants in her dream life, kids and a husband, Aaron McCormick who loves her beyond everything, but will she ever stop dreaming about the people she came to love in her dreams?
“I’d like to feel alive,” I admit, and then, “I think I can. With you.”
➸ Aaron McCormick is a man one can so easily fall in love with. He's got the gentleness, a charming persona, an easy-going nature, an incredible man, father and a husband. Aaron loves deeply and wholeheartedly. If he's in you cannot change his mind ever. I am enamored by his character and how he shows his vulnerability to Fiona, his thoughts on life, how he loves his people and how many hardships he had been through yet still he is most compassionate and down to earth man. To simply say, I am in love and you will be too if you just read this book once.
“McCormick.” “What does it mean?” “Some say it means an almost, a never-was, a dream that didn’t happen, but I say it means an always, a dream that still goes on.”
: ̗̀➛ Aaron and Fiona
The romance was breathtaking. I fell in love with Aaron and Fiona's beautiful and whimsical love story. Fiona and Aaron are soulmates in truest meaning, finding each other even in dreams because they were fated to be together. The way Fiona fell in love in her dreams, and how she started imagining her dream people in real life, how she cared for the people she met only at night in her own magical world created by her deepest desires, everything was perfect. Every dream, every conversation between Aaron and Fiona, every little date orchestrated their newfound love and trust for each other that later turned to this fated love story. How they truly showed their vulnerable and broken parts only for the other to heal them. The found family arc that is the heart of this story was constructed perfectly and with so much elegance and comfort. It was simply so beautiful, uplifting and endearing.
“I see evidence of him everywhere. He’s invaded my world. Even when he’s not real, not here, I still feel him next to me.”
The ending was perfect and you guys are in a roller coaster ride with how the last chapters were written. I tried my best to write this review without spoiling it for you because it's better if you experience the beauty of this novel by reading it and living it with these lovely characters.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

“Loving something that hurts you is also an unhealthy obsession, I think.”
Nicole baby sorry but you deserve better than Daniel's sorry ass. It's funny how I liked Daniel but hated Nicole with passion in Cruel King but now I liked her and her redemption arc in this book but hated Daniel in this book (sounds like an understatement of the year but yes).
I must say this is one of the best redemption arcs ever written by Rina Kent and Nicole is now one of my favourite fmc written by her and that says something because I hated her in Cruel King. The story is told in two timelines — past and present and we finally have the full picture of the events that happened in Cruel King. I liked the angst but the bullying and hatred in this book was too much and mostly because Nicole didn't deserved any of that.
Nicole surprised me so much in this book. She's definitely one of the most misunderstood characters in Rina Kent Universe and I am glad we finally got her side of the story. She's been through a lot in her life and I admire her for how she managed everything in her life from being a mother figure to Jayden to standing up for herself in the world where everyone hated her. People hated her for her choices and behaviour but they never knew what she's been going through alone. She didn't know how to express her feelings and kept her emotions locked inside and behaved like a bitch to everyone, but no one asked her what she was feeling and it hurts my heart because she had no one on her side, not even the boy she loved so much. Daniel will never deserve her. He never saw the pain and hurt she was hiding and he pushed her away all the damn time, even when she needed him the most.
“That’s when I see what we are. I’ve always been the upper half of an hourglass while he was the bottom. Sooner or later, he was meant to empty me until nothing was left.”
I love Nicole so much and her relationship with Jayden was so sweet and one of the best thing in this book. It still amazes me how she took him in when he was just a baby and raised him all by herself when she was barely an adult herself. She is truly the best.
The romance was fine. I hated how Daniel made her life hell when she became his secretary. She needed that job for her brother and he did everything in his power to make her life hell. And when he realised how epically he fucked up and how wrong he was for pushing her away in the past, he just felt sorry and blamed himself and he didn't grovelled or suffered in this book for the way he treated Nicole for years. I admit his cold shoulder after the revelation was a bit much. I do get his beating himself up and blaming himself, but I wanted him to grovel. Nicole is an angel for forgiving him so easily and for loving him and believing in his goodness because this man is just trash.
“You’re the only woman I can imagine spending the rest of my life with. The woman I want to wake up next to every single day. You don’t only make me a better man, but you also give me the urge to be more for you.”
Anyway, I liked the ending because my girl Nicole was happy and she got everything she ever wanted in her life and these 3 stars are only for her and Jayden....more

“She was like this compass, constantly pointing me toward her. Never wavering, never faulty, always to her. Every piece of her felt like home.”
This series is slowly becoming my new comfort series, one I can read whenever I want something cute, light, funny with romantic and sweet moments. There is also an emotional side to every story and it flows really well with the romantic aspect of the story.
I love Juliana's writing. It's very atmospheric, vivid, and metaphorically beautiful. The characters have depth, added dimensions that comes with their experiences and how it shaped their present persona. The story constructed in two timelines, past and present which beautifully orchestrated Adam and Rachel's friendship and love, their newly accidental marriage in convenience to them finally realising that love stays no matter what.
➸ Rachel Keller is personification of sunshine in human form. She is a confident and high maintenance girl who has a song for every moment. Rachel with her love for records and music is a genuine and beautiful soul who tends to have an altruistic nature to help people. I loved her relationship with her dad, it was heartbreaking but also beautiful in its own way to see how much they cared for each other, how they cultivated frienship in their father-daughter relationship. I also liked seeing Rachel's growth and how Adam encouraged her to believe that some people are meant to stay no matter what.
“She was the kind of woman that made you forget there were even other females out there.”
➸ Adam Wells is my new obsession. He's a sweetheart with grumpiest and broody personality, but is a total cinnamon roll inside. I loved his povs, how he was obsessed with Rachel for years, how he always helped her navigate her life amidst the messiness of her father's diagnosis. He is her person as much as she is. He is a listener but always says the right words at the right time. He showed with his little actions how much he cares for the people he loves, and he is truly one of most amazing and loyal people I have read about. Simply my new favourite book boyfriend ...more

I love age-gap This was just pure smut. And the fact that he thought of her as his teenage wife and young wife? Nope. Never. Please never do it again.
I love age-gap romances and I have no problem with 15 or 20 years age-gap between the main characters as long as the mmc didn't knew fmc as a kid because please we have to draw a line somewhere. Luca knew her since she was a baby, he saved her once when she fell in a pool and she was just a six years old girl at that time and she said that she fell in love with a 22 year old man because he saved her and he looked hot? And then she started falling for him over the years basically knowing not a single thing about him. She was in love with the idea of Luca Rossi for over a decade. Luca used to visit her house a lot in the past and he would somehow pick her up and swing her around and treat her like a normal kid, but once she turned 13 years old he even stopped looking at her? Just a little pet on her head? Like he knew that it's bad to even look at a teenager and it's just speaks a lot about his guilty conscience! Because if he didn't had any weird feelings for her then why did he just stop treating her like a kid? It just made me so frustrating. I would've liked this book more had they never knew each other growing up.
The romance was not really romantic. It was just sexual tension and smut scenes which I am fine with but it was overshadowing their emotional intimacy and also the plot of the story.
I kind of liked Isabella in the start but then she just annoyed me with how she behaved. She was mature but behaved so childishly in front of Luca. Atleast she wasn't a doormat but that's never a issue in this series so far. The only thing I liked about her was how she developed her relationship with Luca's daughter.
Luca? We are living in 2024 right? So why the hell this man is trying to control what her wife wears? And she let him do that because that means he's jealous, he cares? Luca and Isabella both need therapy.
I don't really write about the quality of smut scenes in my reviews but I have to for this one. Why is there no talk about safe sex in this book? That's one of my major issues in mafia romances these days. Another one was how she liked to sleep with his fingers in her V? Or how he controlled her with toys for hours? I am sorry what-? That's so weird and let's not forget about hygiene and vaginal health! I like reading about dominant men in books but Luca was weird about all that.
I am so excited for Milene's story though and I only ever heard positive things about that one so let's just keep my fingers crossed....more

Sergei maybe the most unhinged and deranged man in Bratva, but he's just a cinnamon roll when it comes to Angelina. I would have folded for him right there because who doesn't like a dangerous and broken man?
This book is just like any other book in this series, easy, addictive and steamy. I liked Sergei and Angelina together, but there was lack of emotional intimacy between these two. I agree that Angelina helped Sergei with his PTSD but in the end they always end up having sex no matter what and where they were and it got boring and reptitive after that. I wanted some domestic scenes, some scenes where they just simply talked about their feelings and traumas and not end up having sex everytime they just talked and it was overshadowing the connection they developed before the physical intimacy. “Falling in love with you is the greatest thing I’ve ever done.”
This was my first book by Karla Sorensen and after hearing so many good things about her stories, I wanted nothing but to love this book, but sadly it didn't work for me the way I thought it would. I enjoyed some parts but the book was a bit boring.
The story was captivating at first because I liked the plot and it was refreshing and something I haven't read in books. The plot revolves around a documentary about a very focused and uptight football player and a girl from his past who almost put his career at risk nine years ago. They both had been obsessed with each other, but after being forced into a situation where they had to spend hours together sounds like a very interesting situation.
“We watched her dismantle The Machine with hardly any effort. We watched you fall in love with her. And her with you.”
I liked how their relationship developed and how Molly slowly and steadily wormed her way in Noah's heart. I liked their apartment hunting sessions, their trip to Noah's grandmother house and it was one time where Noah truly felt himself. It was cute watching Noah go all fluster because he wanted Molly so badly but didn't wanted to complicate things for him because he was scared.
Molly and Noah together were amazing but as individual they lacked personality and were very bland. Noah's life and his whole personality was about Football and to never let any woman in his life and it was pretty boring to see how he didn't try to change that about him.
I really liked Ward sisters and Logan and their family time together with Paige (Logan's wife). It was sweet, chaotic and comforting in every manner and I can't wait to read more of each and every character, especially, Logan Ward because he is the best big brother....more

This indeed is the best one in this series so far. I liked the plot, the pacing and the chemistry between Bauer and Claire was palpable and so good. I immediately started shipping them together because they both made sense together in every manner and aspect of their life. Bauer felt like himself when he was with Claire and Claire didn't felt the need to be the perfect girl all the time and Bauer was already a goner for her feisty personality.
Bauer was the black sheep of his family, the rebel who wanted nothing more than to be accepted as who he was. He was easily judged by his outside appearance, I mean I would melt right away if I ever saw a man like him — with tattoos and all. Bad boys are my eternal weakness. He is a broken man with little faith in humanity and darkness hiding all his great qualities. He has this impenetrable wall around his heart and he does his best to push everyone away with his almost rude behaviour.
“I’d give you anything you want, princess. Anything to make you smile like you are right now.”
Claire was sweet, innocent, soft, caring and thoughtful. This girl is just perfect. Just the right amount of sass and intensity balanced her adorable personality.
“You make me feel amazing just by being you, Bauer.”
I liked the plot a lot in this one. Bauer had to take his brother's place at a charity event and Claire swapped places with her twin sister because she had a crush on Finn (Bauer's half brother), but then she finds out she is doomed because you cannot say no to a man who looks like a definition of bad boys and Bauer was exactly that until she chipped away each and everu façade he built around himself and fell in love with him. They had to fake date but how much faking can they do before they realised their feelings for each other. It was a delight to see them fall in love with each other.
“My mouth took hers before she could finish her sentence, and I knew, unequivocally, how wrecked I was.”
I loved all the Ward family moments. The support, love and care they have for each other is truly something so beautiful.
My main problem with this book was the ending. I mean it's not a very long book (under 300 pages) and I didn't liked the third-act breakup fiasco and how it was executed. I loved the ending chapter and the epilogue tho. It was so perfect and satisfying....more

“I don’t know what I did to deserve finding you that night because you were the catalyst, Lia. Whatever hope I’ve found for the rest of my life started with you.”
This one was fine. Not good but not bad either and maybe it's a me issue and not this book because I did liked the first half but after that it was just boring and plain. The characters were written beautifully and I liked the growth they had in this book by the end. I loved the Ward family moments and I will always love their chaotic and precious family times and it's one of my major reasons for continuing this series.
“Sometimes, you proved your worth by showing what you were willing to give up.”
Lia and Jude were good together and also as individual they had more personality than Noah and Molly. There was instant attraction between them and their banter was witty and I liked how they could go on and on about anything and everything. Jude and Lia's first meeting was filled with sparks, engaging banter, tension and chemistry but as the story progressed, that spark kinda died down and that's one of my major issue with this book. They felt more like strangers who were in this forced situation because of Lia being pregnant with Jude's child and it felt like they were much better as co-parents than being lovers and parents. I mean I wanted them to get to know each other better and to do things that helps them understand their dynamics better. It all felt rushed and forced.
Overall, the family moments is what made the book enjoyable for me. Logan & Paige are still my favourite Ward couple and I'm looking forward to read Isabella's story next because I already like her and you can never go wrong with a single dad trope!...more

“She took my black heart with her that day she left, and if she says no, she can keep it. I’m ruined for anyone else anyway.”
I was craving a mafia romance with an age-gap arranged marriage trope and this book served. This book was meh and I am not going to criticise it much in this review because it's debut novel and I can see potential in the next books in this series.
This book was a no brainer but entertaining enough for me to read this. It was just mafia vibes. The plot is very fast pacing and that's what kept me hooked. What really appealed me about this series was that it was written about damaged and broken characters and I liked the disability representation in this book. The romance needed more attention and depth. They fell for each other so suddenly and the build up to the love confessions felt a little anticlimactic. The divorce fiasco in the end was hilarious but the third-act breakup was stretched on for too long.
“You will end this fucking war you have started, you hear me? I don’t care how you do it, but end it, or so help me God, I’m going to kill you myself.” “Marry me,” he says, “and I’ll stop the war.”
The characters were fine but they needed more depth and character development, especially, Nina. Nina was care-free and strong and I liked that she wasn't a doormat like other fmcs in mafia romances. She literally made Roman go bonkers with her antics. Roman was a broody, possessive Pakhan of Bratva. He was a little insecured about his leg situation and I liked how he openly shared them with Nina. He's also a softy and crazy jealous alpha for his wife. He tortured and killed the man who hurt Nina years ago and wasn't even sorry about it because he loves her and he'll do it again. Chivalry is not dead guys ...more

“You became an obsession without whom I can’t breathe or think.”
Damn Rina Kent and her amnesia tropes! I am starting to develop an ick for this trope and it's all because of her. I was expecting a better start after the way things ended in previous books, but the starting of this book was boring. I get why Rai faked the amnesia trope but seriously it was so useless. What I really enjoyed in this book was the characters and the romance.
➸ Rai: Rai was just... Rai in this book. Badass mafia princess and a feral wife when it comes to Kyle. Rai had the guts to torture her beloved ruthless husband and I'd be lying if I say I didn't enjoyed it because Kyle had it coming for months. Unhinged and badass fmcs? That's my type ...more

“Just because I was born a woman, doesn't mean I'll let anyone stomp all over me."
I need more characters like Rai Sokolov in Rina Kent books!
I think Rina is better at writing mafia romances than she is at high school bully romances. I finally found a decent Rina Kent book after reading five of her disastrous books. I liked how the mystery plot around the Irish mafia and the killings was explored and I must say it was more intriguing and captivating than the romance part of this book.
“Don’t ever, and I mean ever, repeat that. You’re my wife—know your fucking place.” “And you’re my husband,” I mutter through clenched teeth. “Know your fucking place.”
➸ Rai Sokolov: I liked Rai the most. She's a true russian mafia princess. Reina was the mean bitch twin but Rai is the badass twin. She's always trying to rise up in the brotherhood, where fate and intelligence is determined by the gender you belong to. What I did not liked was how easily she was manipulated by Kai. Apparently, she's not a badass when it comes to her vengeful husband. She did gave him as much as he did and I liked that she didn't tolerated his bullshit attitude but I also wish she fought Kyle when he forced her with sex toys, but then every interaction leads to sex, so I guess it's worthless in the end.
“I’m your wife, and therefore, your equal, not a second-rate citizen you can do with as you please. Don’t dish out your double standards on me—you won’t like how I react.”
➸ Kyle Hunter: Kyle is just like all the other asshole mmcs written by Rina Kent. He's ruthless, vengeful, arrogant because he's the best hitman in Bratva. His manipulative toxicity got on my nerves so many times. I hated the way he treated Rai, always trying to tame her with sex toys even though he knew how hard she worked to earn her position in the brotherhood. It was like he didn't care if they judged her because he always turned them on during the brotherhood meetings. But I also liked how he tried to save her everytime with his own life even when he claimed to hate her. I guess I am conflicted about him until I finally find out his real motives in next book.
“She tastes like addiction and bad decisions, and yet I would still come back for a hit every day.”
The romance was just lust, sex and tension. I didn't felt the emotional connection between Rai and Kyle. The arranged marriage trope was executed well but I think what I was truly missing was the past timeline, where they spent months and Rai fell for him but he left her without giving her any reason, and it just felt weird because the past was left undiscovered and there was no retelling of what actually happened between Kyle and Rai seven years ago and what their dynamics were when he worked as an assassin/bodyguard for her. I wish we get some chapters from the past timeline in next book because that part feels essential to establish Rai's mixed feelings for Kyle. But the hunter x Russian mafia princess dynamics served in this book.
“Come here, Rai.” “Why?” “Because I want you close.” “Why do you want me close?” Her voice is small, as if she doesn’t know how to ask that question. “Because at the moment when I thought it was the end, that’s the only thing I wanted.”
That's the only normal moment they had in this book, the rest is just angst and sex.
I somehow knew how this book was gonna end, so I am not surprised with that.
Talking about side characters? Adrian, Kirill and Damien have all my attention and I can't wait to read their books!...more
