Mr. Ripley didn't feel like his usual sociopathic self, maybe he wasn't as obsessive and hungry as he was in the first book. There were definitely moments (sudden anger, corpse disposal, cold-blooded, practical thinking in crisis) where we saw him as he is, but mostly he gave off the feeling of leisure, wealth, comfortable life and plenty of free time to do nothing or anything. The novel was mostly boring and the more interesting parts happened well past p.100 . Also the ending? [image] Very sloppy and cliff-hanger-y, but not really, because I'm not falling for it. Well, I mean, I will read the next one, but not because I'm dying to know what happens next. I simply want to get to the end and see what Mr. Ripley makes of his life and how high the mountain of dead bodies gets. [image] ...more
