“I wonder if everyone carries the weight of secret sadness with them. Perhaps if it weren’t secret, it wouldn’t be such a burden."
This whole series and its cast of characters were such a wholesome delight to read about. I will miss them and the lessons Katherine Applegate wove into each one of these stories. A true genius of her craft in creating such profound storylines that can be enjoyed at any age....more

After hearing raving reviews, I was excited to pick this up! I’m happy to say that McFadden kept me on my toes and after thinking I knew what was going on, she really said ”hold my beer” and proved that I, in fact, did NOT know the twists she would throw my way.
I look forward to reading more from McFadden and am thankful for the expansive backlist to get through ...more

“How can grief be so universal, yet so widely misunderstood?”
Amy Lin’s memoir perfectly captures the essence and the many facets of grief. The writing is beautiful and I appreciate the raw honesty of this book.
After the sudden passing of her partner, Amy shares how her life was thrown off kilter, their further plans not coming to fruition, and overall learning to adapt to a new lifestyle.
~ A few of my favorite quotes woven within—
“Grief finds its way into everything. Makes everything a part of itself.”
“Grief is chronic pain.”
“When he dies, I fall out of time.”
**this one especially hit me hard because it evokes the heartbreak and aftermath of a loved one’s death. Time is meaningless because grief is always there in the shadows.
I listened to the audiobook read by the author herself in one sitting! It was a great/heartbreaking experience to go through alongside Amy Lin while she tells her story as if speaking to a dear friend.
This is a heartbreaking read to say the least. Please be kind to yourself and gentle with your heart before picking this one up....more

“That falling-off-a-building feeling the first time you kiss someone is just perfection.”
This was such a good time of a read! A one night stand turns into a friends to lovers x fake dating x one bed situation & I ate it up! Lynn is such a Jane Austen stan with all the hints of her various works within her own stories. The Mr. Darcy mentions get me every. single. time.
Not only did I love the romance (other than the third act breakup) but it was SO damn funny! If you’re needing a good laugh and want an actual RomCom, look no further than this one friends...more

“Can you not see that I’m starving to death for you?”
When aspiring pro hockey player Sumner needs a quick fix before his work visa expires, his teammates conspire to have him marry his buddies sister, Britta. She has crushed on Sumner since meeting him and is open to the arrangement if he pays her enough to gain co-ownership of the bar she currently works at.
As we see the two grow closer in their marriage of convenience, the sparks each envisioned in the relationship start to develop.
I really enjoyed this quick little audiobook! For being a novella, I thought the friends to lovers was pretty fleshed out and enjoyed Sumner’s family visit for his birthday. They were welcoming Britta to the family with open arms & were supportive of their relationship.
Sumner was a little smitten gem. He was so sweet and reassuring to Britta after learning about her family history. He didn’t pressure her into anything but allowed her to form her own informed decisions.
Britta, understandably so, is guarded and not a relationship girlie due to her father’s abandonment when she was young. She handled her half brother Bryce’s situation with grace and I loved getting snippets of their mended bond.
Overall this was a quick, fun & spicy time from Tessa Bailey. I enjoyed it and think you should definitely give it a try if you’re wanting a good time!

”Hearing Ruby laugh felt like I was witnessing something special. Something you earned. Something you cherished.”
After eating up Loving Romeo, I was SO excited to be back with this small town gang and seeing River as our main man this time around!
Wild River follows River, the town lawyer, and Ruby, the daughter of one of River’s clients who comes back to town to help run her father’s bar after a health scare. There’s an immediate dislike among the two with River’s unattached nature, and Ruby’s feisty black cat energy, but the way they couldn’t avoid each other in Magnolia Falls really amped up the tension and eventual angst between the two. The constant tension finally gives way that leads to a no strings attached arrangement, but that only lasts so long until somebody catches feelings and things start to feel real.
Ruby is such an independent, caring heroine that would do anything and everything for her family. There’s a scene involving River manhandling Ruby’s brother after he speaks so rudely to her, and I was SCREAMING!! I love a protective man ...more
