Reichert is a fun rom-com with a supernatural twist. The main heroine Sabrina sees ghosts who come to her if they have an unfinished business. She doesn't embrace her supernatural gift as she was bullied at school because of it. After losing her job, Sabrina reluctantly returns to her childhood home in Wisconsin. At home, she meets Ray, the new attractive owner of the local supper club. Ray is very interested in Sabrina, but Sabrina is too afraid to open up to a romantic relationship with Ray because that would mean revealing her secret to him.
There were a lot of things that I really liked about this book. I loved the premise of the book, and I loved Molly, Sabrina's friendly ghost. I liked Ray and Sabrina's meet-cute and how their relationship developed! Unfortunately, there was one thing that prevented me from loving the book. It has the "mean girls" trope that I found very juvenile. Sabrina is 30-years old and she is still tormented by her former classmate, another 30-years old woman, who bullied her when they were in school. Every time I was reading a scene where this happened, I wanted to put the book down. At this point, I am really over books with the "mean girls" trope. I want to read books with supportive female friendships, where women uplift each other, instead of tearing each other down. Therefore this book is only getting three stars from me.

This book takes place in 1937 China and combines real events of the Second Sino-Japanese War with Chinese myths and folklore. And although I found the premise very interesting, ultimately I was left feeling underwhelmed. My favorite books are the ones that affect me emotionally, but The Library of Legends did not stir any feelings in me. I didn't care about any of the characters and wasn't invested in their stories. I will probably forget this book very soon.

This book is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face and uplift your spirits. It's a perfect summer read.

The book is about three de la Rosa sisters, who run a wedding planning business together while navigating professional disagreements, family drama, and romantic entanglements.
I liked the premise of the book and I loved de la Rosa sisters' relationship. They had their differences and they fought but their love for each other was unmistakable. There were also some very interesting romances developing for each sister that added extra zing to the story. All in all, this was a perfect summer read. The Key to Happily Ever After is my first book by Tif Marcelo but it won't be my last!

This book isThe Last Year of the War is an exquisitely written story about the beauty of friendship and how profoundly it can change a person's life. This book is about Elise Sontag, a fourteen years old American teenager, whose life is appended after her German-born father is arrested in 1943 on suspicion of being a Nazi sympathizer. Her whole family is sent to an internment camp with other German and Japanese families. There, Elise meets another girl, Mariko and they become friends. This friendship will change and impact both Elise and Mariko's lives long after they are separated by war, time and distance.
This was a very emotional story, some parts of the book made me cry because my heart was breaking for Elise and Mariko, other parts made me feel hopeful. Overall, I was very impressed with Susan's writing and moved by Elise's story. The Last Year of the War is a must read for historical fiction fans.

This book only loosely follows the original, which I really liked because I don't want to read the same exact story. Pride, Prejudice, and Other Flavors was one of the most enjoyable P&P retellings I've read so far. I liked both characters, Trisha and DJ, even though they were both insufferable at times, and I loved seeing their relationship change from an intense dislike to something quite different. I also enjoyed reading about Trisha's big family and about Indian diaspora culture. All the food descriptions made my mouth water. I've never heard of ladoo before but now I desperately want to try it!
Pride, Prejudice, and Other Flavors was delightful from start to finish. If you love Austen's books or hate-to-love romance, I highly recommend you read it!

Meet Me in Monaco is a feast for the senses: the smells, the sights, the flavors of Provence. It will transport you the French Riviera which you will never want to leave. This is exactly the type of book I love to read. I adored the enchanting setting of South of France, I loved the historical backdrop of Grace Kelly and Prince's of Monaco romance, and I fell in love with the main characters, Sophie and James. Grace Kelly serendipitously brought them together and became the catalyst for their relationship that changed both their lives. Meet Me in Monaco is very close to perfection and I highly recommend it for historical fiction and romance fans.

Sophie BloThe Unbreakables is an exquisitely written story about rebuilding life, finding oneself and finding happiness after a devastating betrayal. Sophie Bloom's seemingly perfect life is turned upside down when she finds out that her husband of more than twenty years cheated on her with dozens of women. Sophie escapes to France, where her teenage daughter is studying abroad. In France she meets new people, experiences sexual reawakening and rediscovers her love for arts and sculpting.
I enjoyed this book immensely. It has a combination of two of my favorite settings: destination/travel and art world. The writing is simply gorgeous, the Provence setting is dreamy, the characters are complex and interesting, and the story has so much depth. I highly recommend The Unbreakables, it’s a perfect summer read and a perfect book club read.

It's smart and relevant, and it tackles many important issues that so many women and families can relate to. I loved the writing style and I enjoyed the characters, I could easy see myself in Penelope and relate to her struggles. I laughed and I cried while reading this book. I flew through it in two sittings, and even though it was a breezy read, it was also a thought-provoking story. I'm Fine and Neither Are You a perfect book club pick. I highly recommend it....more
Last Christmas in Paris is an emotional, heart-wrenching, beautifully written story about love and friendship set during World War One. When I startedLast Christmas in Paris is an emotional, heart-wrenching, beautifully written story about love and friendship set during World War One. When I started reading the book and realized that it's written almost entirely in the form of letters I was a little worried that I wouldn't enjoyed it but I must say the format worked perfectly. The writing is exquisite and compelling, I shed quite a few tears while reading the book. The Last Christmas in Paris was very difficult to read at times because of how vividly the despair, the heartbreak, and the tragedy of war were conveyed through the letters. I was emotionally exhausted when I finished reading it but I was also very satisfied with the ending. If you love historical fiction The Last Christmas in Paris should be at the top of your reading list, it's one of the best World War One books I've read.
