Norman ventures out on an adventure one night after the little girl next door, Ellie puts him in his stall and hugs him night night.
Norman is such a curious horse and wants to see where Ellie goes after she hugs him goodnight. This presents a great opportunity for children to discuss what is reality or make-believe and predict what will happen if Ellie catches him out of his stall.
Fun story for all horse lovers and the illustrations are charming. I enjoyed the open-ended conclusion that gives kids the opportunity to predict what adventure Norman might have next!

This is definitely my favorite Lisa Unger novel. I was captivated from the beginning and the train eWhoa.... this was quite the runaway train.....
This is definitely my favorite Lisa Unger novel. I was captivated from the beginning and the train encounters had me on the edge of my seat!
"It's Martha , by the way. From the train."
I found the story line quite addictive and oh dear, Martha, what is it about you? Selena wonders if she shared too much with a complete stranger. What in the world compelled her?
Let the games begin! Selena gets a text and the crazy train starts to derail just a little at a time until there is NO turning back.
Unputdownable and suspenseful. This would be a fun buddy read because I had so many theories and suspected a few different characters. I really wanted to talk about my suspicions!!

Vampire parody and a group of southern book loving housewives with some very strange claims about the new guy next door!
I took a chance on this one and happy to say that it was a campy, creepy and wacky good time!!
I was craving something different when I picked it up (thanks again local library) and once I got started I just couldn't look away and the writing had me hooked. I found the tongue in cheek humor so entertaining and the horror parts were more creepy to me than scary. There were moments of me asking myself, "What in the world is happening???"
I loved the housewives book club meetings and how the main house wife, Patricia stood her ground and was up for the challenge of stopping the weird stranger who wasn't right. Not right at all.
The nostalgia of the 90's, the guy next door who doesn't like the sunshine, and the dark humor made me a new fan of this author!!...more

Enjoyed the character of Hannah Swensen and her snooping ways. The small town setting of Lake Eden was perfect. Hannah's orange cat, Moishe added another cozy addition.
The mystery is light, but the characters made it fun and enjoyable for a little escape.

I really thought I had this last twist figured out, but boy was I wrong!
It was pretty entertaining and the characters surprised me over and over again. I think I would have liked it to be a bit shorter with fewer pages of diary entries. The pace could have been improved, but I still had fun reading it.
If you enjoy a domestic drama with some melodrama, you may enjoy this one too.

I adored the first book in this series and I'm thrilled to say that this love to hate romance was just as addictive.Another winner from Evie Dunmore!
I adored the first book in this series and I'm thrilled to say that this love to hate romance was just as addictive. Perfect pacing with a historical setting and steamy romance with bubbly chemistry between the two characters, Tristan and Lucie. Hot, hot, hot.
Lucie is involved in the women's suffragist movement and is sassy, independent and constantly trying to stay one step ahead of Lord Ballentine who has been propositioning her with an invite to his bedroom. How dare he!, but wait..... she has her own plan and so the scheming begins.
Witty banter, characters full of heart and soul, a romance that will have you fanning yourself and hoping this rogue comes to his senses! All is fair in love in war, wouldn't you agree?
Beautiful and immersive writing that reads like a big screen movie!! Loved, loved, it and I'm already anticipating book three!
Highly Recommend!!

If you don't mind a bit of a stretch when it comes to this super heroes abilities, it is super entertaining. Evan has a heart of gold and this highly trained assassin kicks it!
The cliff hanger ending has me looking forward to the next titled Hellbent (#3) in this series.

I did enjoy this book, but didn't love it.
What I loved~
1. The remote island setting. 2. It is well-written and I wanted to follow Emmeline's journey. 3. The mystery and mystical feel of the Parts One and Two.
A few issues I had~
1. Part Three had an entirely different vibe to me. It seemed to lose the magic. 2. The way it ended was disappointing.
It was still enjoyable and many have loved this one. It has been compared to Where The Forest Meets The Stars which was one of my favorite books in 2019 and probably why I picked this one up!

After enjoying The Guest List, I decided to pick this one up at the bookstore. In many ways, it mirrors it, both books feature .... a remote, atmospheric location, lots of "couple drama" and a bunch of unlikeable characters (which doesn't always work for me, but worked in this case).
I really do enjoy this author's character development and writing style. Some may feel like she over does the character development and background which does slow the pace. I also think she could have left out much of the background that involved side stories from the past and picked up the pace. There is a bit too much "partying" going on....
There are lots of suspicious characters. I loved the story structure with the locked room mystery.
I've seen less than stellar reviews from many of my GR friends, but for me this one was an enjoyable mystery with that classic who dunnit feel....more

Virginia Hall ( a real life WWII agent) was such a courageous woman and spy working to bring down the Nazi's. It is her second operation to help arm the French Resistance. She took many risks and there were moments in the novel that felt like I was beside her (holding my breath) as she put herself in dangerous situations, amongst the enemy.
Who do you trust? You can't make mistakes as a spy, it could be deadly.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book and details of her missions and heroism. The pacing wasn't consistent throughout the story and some of the flashbacks were distracting to me, but well worth the read!

Fern and Rose are fraternal twins and very protective of each other. They grew up with a mom who wasn't always looking out for them and they didn't have the best of childhoods, but they had each other.
I enjoyed the characters and though somewhat predictable, I was surprised by one turn of events. If you love some twin sister drama, this one is sure to entertain and you will be quite entertained as the whole baby plot plays out!

My first by the author and the plot was clever and kept me turning pages to see what would come next.
The serial killer from the past VS the survivor/ victim.... A heck of a cat and mouse game!

She wrote a book about the attack.

Only one can win, but who?
An intense, but not overly graphic (thank you) serial killer thriller. Just enough intrigue and tension to keep you glued to the pages. I love a good chase and this was well plotted with suspense and you may want to read it in the daytime like I did!

Probably had too high expectations because of so many high reviews, but still a good read. I liked it, but it wouldn't be a favorite on my shelf.
I'm the outlier in my views and it is a quick read, but Eva's chapters bored me a bit and I was so much more interested in Claire. There were also a few things that REALLY bothered me that the author kept mentioning over and over.
Pretty pacy with a couple of great twists, but a little flat in the end and didn't quite live up to the "You have to read this" category in my book. haha

I had this one figured out early, but wasn't sure I was right.
I was!
I liked the premise, but wanted more suspense and parts of the story dragged as the plot played out. I was hoping for more oomph from this author. If you're looking for a slow burn mystery with a bit of a detective feel, this might be one for your shelf!!

I took my time to read this history filThis was fascinating, thrilling, and filled with those "go team" moments. Britain and the world VS. Hitler.
I took my time to read this history filled book. It was part memoir of Winston Churchill's first year as Prime Minister of Britain during WWII. I read lots of WWII fictional novels, BUT this author brought the battle front and center, behind the scenes and was almost impossible to put down.
I loved learning about Churchill and his circle. He was quite a fascinating, and courageous leader. We learn about his private conversations, the secret operations with "code names" that were planned to stop Hitler. Spies and prisoner conversations, the yellow boxes that held communications for Churchill only.
The British people were also courageous and very confident in their leader. Loved how they kept their spirits high and just lived their best lives every day even through the heartbreak and struggles. What a moment in our time to read how they handled this!
A few other highlights... The targeting and scares at Windsor Palace, how it was to live through screaming air raids and bomber moons, a baby born during a raid, personal letters and thoughts on the war, quoted diary entries and MUCH MORE.
If you enjoy WWII history/ historical memoirs, I'd highly recommend this one. So much research went into this, I'm in awe.

Its both funny and heartbreaking, but also very weird/quirky/ and downright strange!!
I really enjoyed the first chapters and the build up of what was happening with the hostage situation in the apartment complex. I did struggle as the book progressed and some parts were so silly to me that I couldn't imagine how this book was going to come together to make any sense, but in the end it does. You have to be quite a talented author to weave a puzzle like this one.
Favorite chapters involved the police interviewing witnesses. They really had a time getting any of the characters to give them a straight answer.
A crazy tale and there is a lot to tackle with as far as themes, but I think Backman fans will enjoy. I hope to read more from this author.

Super disappointed.
I I'm not sure what has happened to thrillers this year! So many have turned out to be family dramas with very little suspense.

I so enjoyed her novel last year, The Perfect Girlfriend. It was cray-cray in the best way. I can't say much about her newest (sadly), but I want to be completely honest. I struggled from the beginning and it felt like torture just getting to the 30% mark. I didn't like any of the characters, the pace was turtle slow and the narrative felt disjointed, no flow, no investment or anyone to "root for".
There are lots of so called secrets, lies, manipulation, but no nothing intriguing or engaging. I'll just call this one a struggle bus.
Loved her last, so I haven't lost all hope for this author.
