This is definitely my favorite Lisa Unger novel. I was captivated from the beginning and the train encounters had me on the edge of my seat!
"It's Martha , by the way. From the train."
I found the story line quite addictive and oh dear, Martha, what is it about you? Selena wonders if she shared too much with a complete stranger. What in the world compelled her?
Let the games begin! Selena gets a text and the crazy train starts to derail just a little at a time until there is NO turning back.
Unputdownable and suspenseful. This would be a fun buddy read because I had so many theories and suspected a few different characters. I really wanted to talk about my suspicions!!

Vampire parody and a group of southern book loving housewives with some very strange claims about the new guy next door!
I took a chance on this one and happy to say that it was a campy, creepy and wacky good time!!
I was craving something different when I picked it up (thanks again local library) and once I got started I just couldn't look away and the writing had me hooked. I found the tongue in cheek humor so entertaining and the horror parts were more creepy to me than scary. There were moments of me asking myself, "What in the world is happening???"
I loved the housewives book club meetings and how the main house wife, Patricia stood her ground and was up for the challenge of stopping the weird stranger who wasn't right. Not right at all.
The nostalgia of the 90's, the guy next door who doesn't like the sunshine, and the dark humor made me a new fan of this author!!...more

This was another wild ride with Evan Smoak!
Otherwise none as Orphan X or the Nowhere Man. We get two adventures in this one and Evan shows that he has a heart and his moral compass shines. This might be my favorite in the series so far!
Super entertaining and fast paced with some shockers and edge of your seat suspense. This was so much fun to read and understand more about Evan. Great character development and a riveting plot. A whole lot of action and more good vs evil missions. There is even a chapter dedicated to its own little locked room mystery!
I adored the first book in this series and I'm thrilled to say that this love to hate romance was just as addictive.Another winner from Evie Dunmore!
I adored the first book in this series and I'm thrilled to say that this love to hate romance was just as addictive. Perfect pacing with a historical setting and steamy romance with bubbly chemistry between the two characters, Tristan and Lucie. Hot, hot, hot.
Lucie is involved in the women's suffragist movement and is sassy, independent and constantly trying to stay one step ahead of Lord Ballentine who has been propositioning her with an invite to his bedroom. How dare he!, but wait..... she has her own plan and so the scheming begins.
Witty banter, characters full of heart and soul, a romance that will have you fanning yourself and hoping this rogue comes to his senses! All is fair in love in war, wouldn't you agree?
Beautiful and immersive writing that reads like a big screen movie!! Loved, loved, it and I'm already anticipating book three!
Highly Recommend!!

I felt some vibes of Big, Little Lies with the school moms, "in" groups and so many secrets from the past. Janey is new in town and doesn't seem to fit in with the glam yoga moms. She will develop a friendship with one of them though and over a bit too much wine, she shares a deep dark secret.
Her husband, Isaac is also acting very strange. What is he hiding?
It was an entertaining and light read with an ending that surprised me.

I enjoyed this romantic historical fiction so much that I am impatiently waiting for the next in this series!
Annabelle Archer is an English country girl on her way to the University of Oxford in 1879. She will be one of the first female students, but she is charged with supporting the women's suffrage movement in exchange for her scholarship.
Sebastian Devereux is the most powerful man in England and the the Duke of Montgomery. He is a bit cold and very intimidating. Also, an extremely handsome, dashing knight-in-shining armor!
Enjoyed it so much! Fun, full of time period history and setting, steamy tension between Annabelle and the Duke (loved them both).
Sexy, fun romance. I cheered for these two all the way. The duke reminded me of the character Ross from Poldark (swoon worthy), an Amazon series that I love.

Charles Jenkins is back This is book two in the Charles Jenkins series and its back to Moscow!
More espionage, blackmail, and scary Russian agents.
Charles Jenkins is back and on a new mission. I read The Eighth Sister (book one in the series) and couldn't wait to see what his next move would be. This could be a stand-alone as it does give background information in the first few chapters, but I would recommend reading the first book (its good).
When Charles learns that things may not have been as they seemed when he left Russia, he decides to go back to Russia to try to save someone close to his heart. But is she even alive? He knows he must find out.
Tension builds as each chapter flies by and there were moments I wanted to close my eyes! Panicked at what was about to happen. It reads like a fast paced, action-packed movie.
The suspense was anxiety filled and had me holding my breath and saying, "oh no, oh no, oh no...." Those moments when the chase is on and you feel like you are in on it.
What a great spy story! Kept me guessing and rooting for the good guys! There is also a pilot character, Studebaker who was "hulla" crazy and added humor. And wow, what an ending!
Recommend to fans of spy thrillers, international shell games and characters you'll be completely invested in.
Thanks so much to NG/ Thomas and Mercer for an advanced review copy. OUT October 2020, but the first book in the series in available now. The acknowledgements mention that these two books in this series have been sold and will be a major television series! Yay!...more

The first half was so action-packed, suspenseful and thrilling that I was just glued to every word. I love an intense, spy/legal thriller and this one DELIVERED!
It was the ultimate international cat and mouse game that kept me on the edge and up all night reading. Charles Jenkins is an intriguing character and I'm thrilled this is a series, so book two is already on my shelf!
The second half slowed down a bit, with complex details concerning the trial (the legal jargon was a bit much). It picks back up in the courtroom with some twists.
A clever, intriguing man-hunt with plenty of heart-pounding moments and superb character development. This author can really tell a story in a powerful and addictive way.
Highly recommend to spy/legal thriller lovers!
A library loan for me. His second in this series is available on NG ....more

One of my favorite Agatha Christie mysteries And Then There Were None, is used as a sort of copycat premise to make these characters question everything and everyone. Apparently they all have read it and seem to know how the mystery plays out. Many of the same devices are used to "get to them". Loved all the references to the classic, though some may be spoilers.
I was completely absorbed in the whole mystery and kept changing my mind on who the killer really was. There is also a bit of a "survival" game going on that had all the characters watching their backs and locking their rooms up at night.
The secluded lodge and eerie woods create a suspenseful atmosphere. I was turning pages quickly. If you enjoy locked room mysteries, this one is super entertaining.
There are quite a few characters that took a minute to sort out, but once I was into the story they became clear. The two investigators, Mason and Callie had such great chemistry that I didn't want their story to end.
Feel like a page-turner mystery? Check this one out. ...more

Ms. Danvers still takes the cake as the creepiest housekeeper I've encountered. Chills, chills, chills
The Mansion Manderley was such a prominent character as well. du Maurier's writing really captured the household tension, the gothic vibes and the good VS evil embedded in the story.
Still my FAVORITE classic mystery.
