The new villain is boring and generic. I could really care less about that whole storyline. This was a horribly disappointing ending to a series that had so much potential. I definitely enjoyed this book more than the first one. Adeyemi still has problems when it comes to repeating certain phrases eg "veins bulging from nI definitely enjoyed this book more than the first one. Adeyemi still has problems when it comes to repeating certain phrases eg "veins bulging from neck" but her writing has greatly improved overall. I felt her characters were all fleshed out more in this book and it was interesting to see the darker sides of characters like Amari. The ending was annoyingly unsatisfying but still 4/5 stars (mostly because Roen is the light of my life. Can we get a spin-off with him after all this is done?? ).
