Jane & Walker Jane is ready to settle down and find love on the island she adores. She uses popular book tropes to set the tone. And boy do we hear the word trope a bunch, a bit too much obsessively tropey for me. But now her school crush is back in town putting a damper on her plans to find love this summer.
Walker is ready to get his golf game back on track after an injury. He’s not interested in being on the island any longer than he needs to, but his sister's best friend catches his eye. Will the fun times they have together make him change his mind and stay? Or is hanging with Brooks Koepka and Tiger Woods more appleaing? That’d be a yes to Brooks for me, wink wink.
I could’ve gone without the time wasting because of the sister crap, but overall this was cute, had some nice banter and a great series starter. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store for the rest of the island peeps.
Narration notes: Duet!! Whoop whoop! Both of their voices were pleasing to my ears.

Sutton (23) & Shaw (2o's) (cute names) have been rivals since they were children. Now they’re going to be seeing a lot of each since she’ll be working for the hockey team he plays for.
I’m so happy this was a clean romance just because of their age, which is my personal preference at this point in my life. There’s definitely a new adult vibe with some of their possessions, interactions and thoughts being OTT and immature, but the banter was good since they’ve known each other for a very long time, so there’s a sort of ease to it.
The burn is super slooooowwww, almost too slow, so I wish their declaration of feelings happened a bit sooner. I’m thrilled this was dual POV because Shaw really brought his A game with his feelings. The brother's best friend/best friend's sister trope was well done.
Overall, this was really caaauuutttte and sweet! The bonus epilogue gives us a sneak peek of what’s to come in the next book and I’d totally be interested in reading or listening to it.
Narration notes: They both did a perfectly fine job. She sounded age appropriate.

Torran & Beck (love the unusual names) Torran and her business partner, Manny, have a home renovation business that focuses on restoring the legacy of old homes. She has her eye on a home on Huckleberry Lane and is super mad when she's outbid at the auction. The anger rises when she learns the man who bought it is the one that broke her teenage heart 10 years ago, Beck.
Beck wasn't planning on buying his childhood home, but gets swept up in the thought that bringing his sister, Piper, back to Ivy Falls will help her struggles with alcohol and drug addiction. Beck feels responsible for his parents untimely death and has made it his mission to over~protectively take care of his 24 year old sister. While I can appreciate how he felt Piper was his responsibility, I just feel like that took up too much of the story and took away from him and Torran finding their way back to each other seamlessly.
Torran has a wonderful relationship with her sister, Tessa, her 2 nieces, and business partner, Manny, but a rocky one with her father. While she's a very successful businesswoman, she does come off as immature and stuck in the past at times. I wish she would've gotten out of the tunnel a lot sooner than she did. Beck was frustrating to me, as well. Don't even get me started on the 3rd act break up.
Overall, as far as second chances goes this one fits the bill. I enjoyed the introduction of the small town of Ivy Falls. I'm pretty sure I know who book 2 will be about and I'm all for it, so fingers crossed it's who I hope it is and I don't have to wait too long for it.

Katherine (36) & Tom divorced a few years ago, but find themselves spending the holidays together when he offers to watch over her when she has a concussion. The problem is that he's supposed to be in Chicago getting ready to propose to his girlfriend on Christmas Eve. So they set off on an adventure that tests their patience with each other. If something can go wrong it does and I was all for the chaos of it all.
Katherine hates Christmas, understandably so. She was a little much with her workaholic~ness and bickering with Tom, and he made some valid points of why they got divorced. He was really sweet. The banter was good! You just can't help but root for these two to get back together. Overall, a wonderfully fun holiday read.
I was able to listen to a copy as well. Narration notes: I don't have any complaints, except Tim's female voice is not great, which I've been saying for ages.

Holly & Jax Holly is nearing 30 and ready to find love and goes on date after date after awful date. Jax doesn't believe in love, but offers to help her find the one. It's obvious where the story will lead us, but it was a fun hike there.
I really liked how they became great friends first, which slowly and realistically developed into more. She was pushed out of her comfort zone and loved doing outdoorsy things she never thought she would. He was totally taken by surprise with feelings he never thought he'd feel.
Overall, super sweet, super fun and the banter was top notch. Be sure to check out Katie's other books because I've enjoyed every one I've read so far, well this is only my 3rd but still.
Narration notes: Abigail did a great job. David did, as well, however he did not sound like he'd be a mountain man at all, which is how Jax is described.
Additional notes: I haven't read it yet, but Season's Schemings is Maddie's book and she is Jax's step sister. I do wish I had read that one first, but I see nothing written anywhere that these are a series, so how was I suppose to know? Now I know what's happening with her life, so that'll be a bit spoiled if I read it.

He thought he found that with Molly when they were in high school, but she left him and broke his heart. Now they're at their 15 year reunion and the attraction is still there. Can they easily find their way back to each other?
Oh Seth I felt so bad for him. He wears his heart on his sleeve and just wants someone to love him forever. He keeps getting his heart broken and his emotions clearly came through on the page, or in my ears rather.
Eh with Molly. I never really warmed up to her on the romance front, but she was a great friend to her bff's.
Overall, this is fine as a debut. There were enough funny bits to keep me entertained, but I just felt like so much time was wasted.
Side note ~ there are a lot of emails and text messages, which I wouldn't have minded if I was reading it, but to hear all the info following 'to..., from..., date..., time..., subject...' over and over and over again annoyed me.
Narration notes: They both did fine. Tim still needs to work on his lady voice.

Ellie is just looking for a little peace and quiet for a few days, but she gets anything but when the lady she is renting an airbnb from is rushed to the hospital upon her arrival. Thus sets forth her being right smack dab in the middle of 82 year old Marilyn’s family drama with her daughters. She wasn’t expecting Marilyn’s grandson, Warren, to question her intentions. I did not like their first encounter, I think it could have been done elsewhere.
Ellie has her own family drama she’s dealing with. Her mom was pretty annoying honestly. So when she’s unwillingly thrown into Marilyn’s, as well, she does all she can to be supportive and help this sweet lady out, even if it means wrangling a whole bunch of animals that she has no clue how to take care of.
Overall, I thought this was adorable and a fun time. I really enjoyed the friendship Ellie and Marilyn had. I hope I’ll be as delightful as Marilyn when I’m her age. This is more about Ellie’s growth and less about the romantic feelings forming between her and Warren. There are some funny bits that kept me entertained.
Narration notes: Stephanie did a wonderful job bringing the story to life.

Claire has left behind her cheating boyfriend and toxic mother and is living in Paris. She's working in a restaurant that she hopes will get a Michelin star one day soon. When she meets her new boss, James, she's ecstatic. James already has one star under his belt, so surely their restaurant will be next. It doesn't hurt that he's easy on the eyes.
Pretty sure I've never read a more sweet, patient and supportive man. You can't not swoon over James and his denim blue eyes. His whole family is great, too. Claire's, on the other hand, not so great.
I loved that each chapter begins with a cooking and/or food tip and then that's weaved into that chapter. There is some repetition and I feel it could have been cut down a bit, but overall I really enjoyed it. I couldn't have wished for a better ending to this delightfully sweet book, however it felt a bit sudden. I wouldn't mind a sequel to see how their life is progressing, either.

Ellie & Zen are still getting to know each other after they gave me the slowest burn of my life in Love Lindisfarne. Their story is progressing realistically, but not without some jealously which stems from their past experiences.
Awful Isla is back and causing quite the stir and thankfully gets the ending she deserves.
While I didn't lovedy love love this one like I did the previous book I still quite enjoyed revisiting the sweet island of Lindisfarne and the lovely set of characters that live there. I liked that Ellie's London friends have popped in for a visit and have a grand old time getting to know everyone.
I definitely recommend this series if you're looking for a slow burn, clean romance with a side of witty one liners and adorable animals.
Series notes: This is a continuation of Ellie and Zen's story from Love Lindisfarne, and what's happening on the island, so I definitely recommend reading that one first. You meet all the wonderful characters that are heavily involved in both installments.
Mia & Alex meet on a dating app and their first date didn't get off on the right foot. But then they learn that their best friends are totally and disgustingly in love, so they're forced to spend time together more often than they'd like....until they're thrilled to see each other.
Where Mia has a wonderful relationship with her family Alex is just the opposite. I could have went without Mia and her father's fight at the end, but I suppose it just shows how protective parents are of their children...especially single father's with deceased wives. But I still didn't like him for a hot summertime Georgia minute there.
Absolutely loved the friendship's between Mia and Josie and Alex and Ezra. So supportive and fun.
Overall, this had some good banter and they had great chemistry. He was a little gung ho at the end there, but I didn't hate it.

Dylan (33) & Marlow (23) don't get off on the right foot when her dog, Waffles, trespasses in his backyard. Flash forward one year later and Marlow becomes 6 year old Lola's nanny.
Book boyfriend alert! Dylan is most definitely a guy you’d want around when you’re sick as he’s a wonderful caretaker. He cooks and cleans, and even bakes muffins before 6am after he's had his workout. He works a bit too much, but he's such a devoted dad, and Lola is absolutely adorable and so well behaved.
Marlow is an artist and a bright spot of sunshine. Her relationship with Lola was wonderful. She has a strained relationship with her parents, but has found a great support system with Dylan's family, which was really nice to see.
Overall, I had a really great time reading this one. We've got the set up for the next book that seems like it'll be a lot of fun.
Series notes: This series follows siblings, so although not absolutely necessary I think you should read If You Give a Grump a Holiday Wishlist first because not only is it delightful, but you'll get to meet the whole clan because they're pretty involved as a tight knit family.

I've watched the movie Tangled a gazillion times and it's one of my favorites, so I had to see what this retelling had to offer.
Ren (22) is our Rapunzel. She's been living on a homestead with her parents for 20 years, never once attending school. Now she has an opportunity to go to Corona College, where she meets Fitz (22), our Flynn Ryder, AKA Eugene Fitzherbert.
An assignment has her submitting her DNA and the results were shocking. She hitches a ride with Fitz to Georgia to get some answers.
I must say that the authors did an excellent job of making this resonate with the movie. I love that Fitz's mustang is named Max to go along with the horse in the movie, Maximus. Ren is as naively depicted as you'd expect, however it gives the story YA vibes. She did tell some good jokes, though.
There were some cute moments, like the detours they took on the road trip, but overall, this was so slow moving and I was quite bored for a good portion of it. I didn't feel the ending on the farm was authentic to the story, but I suppose it's just their spin on things.
Narration notes: I did not listen to this one, but am just giving the info above for reference.

Ginny & Darryl don't get off on the right foot when Darryl does not give Wagging Tails enough page time when he writes the article that they rely on for fundraising every year in the town newspaper. He seems to lack interest in the dogs at all, or so she thinks.
This is heavy on the dog rescue side of the story, which I didn't mind at all because if there's a book about a dog rescue then count me in! It's slow burn on the romance side and as always I didn't care for the 3rd act breakup. Can people just talk and listen please? Overall, a sweet story and a good introduction to the series.

Hallie & Chris Hallie accidentally, but not really, watches private videos that Chris recorded for his girlfriend, Darcy, who also happens to be Hallie's client....who is now marrying someone else. She sends her own videos back to him in an effort to apologize and just relieve her family frustations, but she doesn't think he's watched them when they first meet, and guess what, he doesn't tell her right away, so how about we start this relationship out on a lie...seems like a great idea to me.
Hallie is often stereotyped as a party girl because she has pink hair and is an event planner, which made no sense to me. She was really sweet and someone I'd want to hang out with for sure. I just wish she would've stood up for herself more. Chris is back from space and plans to write an autobiography in an effort to promote his work with NASA. I thought he was sweet at times, too, when he wasn't bugging me with the Darcy crap. There was no denying their chemistry, but, not surprisingly, the miscommunication was for the birds.
Both of Hallie's parents and Chris's dad were pretty awful. Sometimes you have to cut toxic people out of your life even if they're your parents. On the flip side Chris's Aunt Richelle was an absolute doll. Hallie's friend, Althea, was pretty great and supportive, too.
It was a bit slow moving and bogged down with all the family and friend drama, which overpowered the story, but overall it was fun. And isn't that cover so eye catching?
I was able to listen to a copy as well. Narration notes: I've listened to Andi before and I always think she does a great job. Noah was okay, but a little too breathy. He did do pretty good female voices though.

Sally & Harry Sally believes wholeheartedly in romance, the happily ever after and feeling all the fuzzies that go along with love. She saw it every day with her parents until they were tragically killed when she was 16. She grew up quickly and had to take care of her younger sister, Amy, and still continues to do so even though she's an adult. Amy was really annoying me, but I'm happy that she slowly got her act together.
Harry didn't grow up with the best role models as parents, which turned him off to believing love exists. "He knew he wasn't everyone's cup of tea ~ sarcastic, blunt, stubborn, hard headed" me too Harry, me too! But you can’t help but feel bad about what he went through. His parents were pretty awful.
I grew up in the good ole 90's, so the romcom mentions from then were the typical ones. I have never watched When Harry Met Sally, so like, Harry, I had to google the infamous restaurant scene. You won't ever catch me making videos on TikTok, but I've been known to watch some once in awhile. I bet the ones they made would be an adorable hoot to watch.
For every likable character there were just as many unlikable ones, which helped round out the story. It's a little on the longer side, has a cutesy title and fun cover, and I had a great time reading it.

Gretchen has perfected cons by 'speaking' to dead people. She's so convincing that her fancy client has hired her to help her bridge playing friend, Charlie, get rid of a suspected ghost that's not making selling the farm easy.
Gretchen's met her match because Charlie is having none of her lies, except this time she's not lying and she really does see the infamous ghost of Gilded Creek Goat Farm and his name is Everett. He agrees to let her stay for one month, but she'll need to help out around the farm every day. Turns out the farm isn't very profitable, but leave it to Gretchen to come up with some great ideas to get it in the black. I enjoyed watching her step into her yellow rain boots and take on every task given to her.
I said in one of my updates that I'm slightly in love with Everett. He's such a fun ghost and I totally would've let him rock my world back in the 1920's. Poor thing is so bored, all he wants to do is watch TV when he's not trying to scare potential buyers. Can you blame him though? He hasn't had anyone to talk to in nearly 100 years and finally someone can see him and listen to him yabber on for ages. You can't help but feel bad for him, but then slightly mad at him towards the end.
I'm normally down with a grump, but Charlie is a little too mean to Gretchen sometimes, which took me an extra minute to warm up to him. But after I heard his backstory, witnessed his sweetness towards his grandfather and read his memories of the times he spent with his grandma, he grew on me, mismatched and long sleeved sweaters and all.
Some downsides for me are that the plot only takes place for about a month, and there's a lot jammed packed in that month, but this felt so long and it took me quite a while to get through (2 weeks!). I don't feel like their relationship progressed realistically either. Their first whomp was really weird. I could have went without the stuff with her father as I don't feel like it was wrapped up nicely at all. A few chapters from Charlies POV would have been helpful.
Overall, there's a good amount of wit and TV show references that kept me entertained.

Luna & Yannick Luna heads to France in search of information as to why a man she doesn't know left his money to her. Her mother has passed, so she can't ask the urn of ashes along for the ride.
Yannick is a trained mountain rescuer, so he's happy to help out an out of towner when she runs out of gas. We tag along on some of his rescues, too.
I try not to let a narrator sway my rating as I like to base my thoughts on the actual story, but I feel like I just might have enjoyed this a little better had I read it. (More on that below.) Or perhaps not because I wasn't really feeling the chemistry with them. Maybe because it was a super slow burn on the romance front and more about finding out who left her the loot. I did like the friendship Luna made with Sylvia and the grief Yannick was feeling felt relatable.
It's a wintery, not a Christmasy, read and the atmosphere was spot on. I had to listen while I was snuggled in my blankie with my fuzzie socks on because I could just feel how cold it was there. The cover is adorable, too.
Narration notes: Double whammy ~ Karen is British and doing French accents, so my American ears struggled to stay focused.

4 part story told mostly by Noely as she goes on 3 blind dates set up via an app. What a lucky lady finding 3 hotties in quick succession. And to have a connection with each is rare.
The Suit ~ the cocky businessman who is private The Rebel ~ the heart of gold biker who can't open up The Jock ~ the too sweet professional athlete who is easy going
The Mystery Man was so blatantly obvious, but I liked how Noely was second guessing herself on who it was.
Side characters ~ Dylan (#bffgoals) & Alex and Lauren (bro & sil), were great.
Overall, I had a good time with this one. I can always count on Meghan for great fun, but I had to round down my 3.5 due to what went on in the dressing room. Even though late in the story I wish it would have happened even later on. Also, didn't care for what happened on the lounger. I mean I didn't hate what happened, I just wish it wasn't with who it was with and the timing of it. Can't say more without giving anything away. I could have went without the lack of communication too.
Narration notes: Ava did a really nice job. I’ve listened to Aiden quite a few times and he does great, but we only got a little bit of him as it's mostly told by Noely.
