A nice little non rhyming book great for children aged 4-9.
I had two favorites: The ladybug ~ they fatten up, pile up, stiffen up and swarm into a ladybug pile sharing warmth together ~ then pause ~ then in the Spring they wiggle awake, feast, flit away
The arctic ground squirrel ~ they pack on fat, become as cold as the air, barely move ~ then pause ~ then every few weeks they shiver for hours to warm up ~ as days grows longer their heart quickens and they scurry around to find food
Apparently there are lovely pictures that go along with the text, so I've ordered a copy from the library and I'll update my review after I've read it. The cover photo looks pretty cool. Yay for nature!
Narration notes: This is the first time I've listened with a narrator like this and it sounded perfect, not robotic at all.

Clementine is a workaholic, not looking too hard for love. But then she meets Iwan unexpectedly one day she wonders what if, but it's just not the right time for them.
I love the unique idea of a magic apartment. How fun would that be? But it can't all be magical because there's some heartbreak, as well, when his present is your past and you wonder if you'll ever see each other again.
This was really cute with some sweet moments. There's a great set of side characters. Light on the romance and more about Clementine's journey in life. I enjoyed both characters and was really rooting for their happily ever after.
I can see why it's so highly rated.
Narration notes: It's Brittany, do I need to say anything really?

Cass is managing a run down motel/apartment building after breaking up with her boyfriend. Anna's husband, Henry, has just died by apparent suicide, so she moves into the apartment that he used as an art studio to find some answers.
This was pretty good. The suspense was definitely built up in this slow burn journey searching for answers. The twist was nice.
Narration notes: Brittany does an outstanding job, as usual. She's really one of the best. Stacey was fine, a little slow talking at times.

Kate is on the hunt for 2 boys that didn't come home by dinnertime after fishing one afternoon. One boy is Amish and one is English, and one father isn't too happy these boys are friends.
The premise does sound heart pounding, but my heart remained beating at it's normal pace throughout. Perhaps because we get the POV of the boys, so we know all will turn out well. But it usually does when Kate and her team are on the case.

Olive (25) and Miles work together at a high school in New York. They didn't get off on the right foot when he started teaching there, so she considers him an enemy of sorts. I didn't really get much enemy vibes to be honest.
Now it's time for Christmas break and Olive is off to Vermont to spend a week with her family, which includes her mother's new husband, Russ. A man she married just 8 months after Olive's father passed away after a cancer battle only last Christmas. Needless to say she's not looking forward to it. On top of that her mother invited her ex-boyfriend, Glen, who she has no interest in getting back together with. Before she can even stop herself she's telling her family she already has a boyfriend named Miles.
Guess who's parents own the resort they are staying at? You guessed it, Miles. Luckily he's down with the fake dating plan, so they have a fun filled week of doing wintery things. I felt the bitter cold Vermont air coming off the pages.
This was so adorable and fun and sweet and cute and funny. The teasing is good natured and the characters are mature and relatable AND they know how to communicate! I would totally watch this if it was made into a Hallmark movie and that's not usually my jam.
Narration notes: Justis did a great job. I have no complaints.

Olivia & Colin Olivia sets fire to her apartment, so she's staying with her brother until she can find a place on her own. Unbeknownst to her, her brother actually lives with his best friend, Colin.
Can someone tell me why we love Colin so much when his pants surely must have been in the apartment fire? Perhaps because he has great abs? And then the whole Nick bit, stop it! Also, who has $4,000 tequila? Olivia's pants were right there next to his with the whole job thing. And, also, did I miss it...why is she not in the slammer for arson? About that tequila, who doesn't even apologize for dumping half of it out? An unlikeable person that's who.
There wasn't much brothers best friend madness, so don't think you're getting much excitement on that front.
Overall, this was fine, I guess, but the conflict in the 3rd act made me just as mad as I knew it would because we knew what it was going to be early on. Can we be honest please? The text messages had more steamage then the actual whomping it up did. There were some funny bits, though, so I'll see what the next book in the series has to offer one day.
Narration notes: Duet narration for the text messages, but not anywhere else, which I found odd. Just duet it all the way! They both did fine on their own, though.
April & Eddie are driving along when they spot a figure covered in blood. They bring her to the hospital and the next thing they know they're being questioned for her murder. Since they're outsiders the police don't believe they're innocent, so they do their own amateur sleuthing to try to clear their names.
Good stuff April saying she would die if her husband died. Girl you’ve been married for like 5 minutes and have known each other for like 4 months ...more

No named characters is unique, but weird.
This started off super intense and I was scared to listen when I was home alone at night, but then it sort of petered out for me. There still was some action, but not as grippingly so as it was in the beginning, and there's a blizzard because why not. The flashbacks slowed it down. All the men were pretty awful with the 1st place trophy going to her father in law and coming in 2nd were the detectives. The ending was good. Fine for a debut.

Honeybear was just trying to be helpful when he dug up some old bones, which puts Kate on the hunt to find out who they belong to and how they got in the field.
Even though this wasn't a fresh murder, or anything to really do with murder, I still enjoyed the mystery of it.

Lucy is in the spotlight when Ben, a true crime podcaster, starts digging into the 5 year old murder of Savvy, Lucy’s best friend.
Is the plot new? Nah not really, but it gripped me from the get go and didn’t let up until we knew what the what and who the who was. Even though Lucy is accused of killing her best friend she is such a witty and fun character, which she obviously gets from her grandma because she was an absolute delight. Overall, enjoyable with a satisfying conclusion. I can see why it’s so popular.
Hubs in depth review: Enjoyed the multiple narrator voices. I like how she said hot as balls. Ending was good.
Narration notes: Awesome! Maybe one of the best audio’s I’ve listened to. I’m not sure I would have liked it as much if I had just read it.

Jade is the 2nd Mrs. Westmore, married to Wells. Sylvie is the 1st Mrs. Westmore who lives in the guest house with round the clock nursing care.
Quite peculiar to live on the same premises as your husbands 1st wife, and she's not allowed to interact with her or the nursing staff either. Quite peculiar indeed. Not overly surprising where the plot took us, but I quite enjoyed the journey to get to the exciting ending. This is my first experience with this author and I really liked it. I can't wait to read more of her work.
Hubs in depth review: Thought I knew the culprit halfway through, pleasantly surprised at the end. The end.
Narration notes: Yay for 2 and they both did great.

A short review for a short story.
A battered woman is being chased through the woods and ends up on Noah Fisher's doorstep.
Kate has her work cut out for her since this woman has no clue who she is or how she got to Painter's Mill. As always, she does a great job getting to the bottom of things, but not before getting a little roughed up herself. A great installment in the series.

A short review for a short story.
Noah and Ashley had a lovely time at her school dance, but on his way home he's struck by a car. Kate investigates the hit and run that might have more to do with someone not liking an Amish boy with an Englisher.
This one was full of action. I don't know how Kate's Explorer is still running at this point, or does she keep getting a new one? A tinsey bit predictable, but this is my favorite of the novellas.

A short review for a short story that follows 14 year old, Kate, and her best friend, Mattie. They're picking apples when a nearby barn goes up in a blaze.
Meh, I didn't much care for this one. There was a little bit of action to keep the story moving, but I'm more interested in current aged Kate, unless we're in a full length novel with flashbacks to her younger years. I will say it was nice to see how her brother Jacob was very protective of her, but that's really about it.

Kate & Tomasetti are off to a bed and breakfast for a weekend away. Tomasetti wants nothing more than to just relax, but when they learn there's a girl that disappeared from the area 22 years ago they're soon wrapped up in the mystery of it all.
Not typical for this series in that they were not working on an active brutal murder case, so I thought I'd be bored stiff, but I ended up liking it. I was pretty sure this was a solid 4 star read the whole time, but I was quite pleased with how the end played out so I bumped er up.
