Carmen & Wes It's already tough crushing on your bff's little sister, but add in that you've been a part of the family for over a decade and it adds a little extra weariness about getting involved. But why, Wes is clearly loved by every member of the family. Oh wait, did I mention that big brother Bennett is VERY overprotective, yikes. If you've read the others in the series then you just know he's going to blow when he finds out and a blow he does. But ugh with it because they're grown adults. And why not add in that you're best friends and don't want to rock that boat.
Gah with these two though! They did a little fake dating to put off a tool of a guy in town, and you can probably guess what's going to come from that. I love me a best friends to lovers and they were so cute once they realized each other had the same feelings. 3rd act shenanigans I could have went without, but overall I loved it. The ending seemed abrupt, so I hope it's tidied up in the next installment.
Series notes: This is a series that follows siblings and all are heavily involved in each installment, so it's recommended to read in order for full enjoyment.

Penn & Shannon have an on again off again type of relationship. Currently they are off when she joins the baseball team as a ball girl.
To me they seemed like they'd be better off apart, but they can't seem to stay away from each other. I wasn't really convinced of their chemistry. That's all I will say since it's such a short story. Not my favorite of the series.
Series notes: Absolutely fine as a standalone. Dylan from book 1 was referenced, but he did not play any part in this story.

I'm struggling with how Nolan didn't know why Grace left though as someone must have known what happened. And I want to know how what happened happened. If you're looking for a cute, quick read give this one a try.

Sweet, naïve Elora was used to living on a boat her whole life, so when she gets to Ridder U she doesn't know what she's in for. And I'm not just talking about with possessive and sweet hockey player, Wyatt. Wyatt had his heart broken, can he ever trust anyone again?
I really love that it's told in dual point of views, which shows Wyatt's apprehension to trust again and Elora's eagerness to experience new things. It was refreshing that it was a slow burn and they took their time to get to know each other..
I really enjoyed the first half, but the second half was meh for me. Some of the characters choices had me saying, really? But, overall, I did like it and will read the rest of the series when they come out.

They agree to have one night only with "no emotions, no attachments" and to never see each other again. Flash forward to the next day and guess who now works together. Also, guess who can't stop thinking about each other.
Zoe has recently returned to Wichita after leaving home 4 years prior. As the only daughter and youngest child of Christian Albright, Zoe has never been able to live her life the way she wants. She's always been under her controlling fathers thumb ~ which infuriates me. Her father and 4 brothers really bugged me until the very end ~ they were quite maddening.
Mitch has recently moved to Wichita for a new job as a lawyer at the Albright law firm. He doesn't plan on sticking around for too long, or letting anyone in his life. He has a little bit of a sad secret that takes us a long time to find out what it is. Chapter 19 actually gave me some chills.
I really liked Zoe and Mitch ~ they were both well written characters and really had a fun time together.
Although I didn't care for the 4 brothers for most of the book, I wouldn't mind if this was turned into a series following their love lives. And I'll, also, need Z & M to make cameos to see how they're doing. Hint, hint ~ Lynn Stevens
Side note ~ How come Zoe just answers the phone without looking at the caller id? She did it multiple times. That’s just crazy talk.

Lyra & Brody had a fling 7 years ago. They parted ways amicably since Brody was shipping out with the Navy. When Lyra found out she was pregnant she searched high and low for Brody, but to no avail. She had accepted that she'd never see him again and has been doing a stellar job raising their daughter on her own.
Now Brody is retired and back in Carolina Banks working a temporary construction job. He wasn't expecting to see Lyra ever again, but is pleasantly surprised when he runs into her. When he learns he is a father he is is understandably shocked, but also sad that he missed out on so much of her life. But soon he is all in and steps into fatherhood with ease! Until an accident causes him to question his abilities ~ I was not a fan of this part that led to the 3rd act breakup shenanigans.
Not usually a fan of children in my romance, but Sophia was an absolute doll and very well behaved. Lyra and Brody had great chemistry and I liked how they slowly got to know each other again before diving right into a relationship for their child.
Series notes: I loved the Ramsey-Croft family in One Unexpected Kiss and they were just as fun in this book. The family has multiple siblings that are heavily involved in each installment, so yes a standalone, but read book 1 first to get the best experience.

Thea & Dylan Dylan is my favorite Reid brother! He's been hurt before and is scared of letting someone in for fear they only want him for his money and not him. Needing a date for a charity event has him reaching out to an escort service where he meets Thea. Thea has a heart of gold. She helped her brother (who raised her) out of a jam and needs to pay off a steep debt, so she's working extra jobs to pay that down when she meets Dylan.
They have an insta~lust going on, but I was happy that they kinda took it slow and found out the things they had in common first before hitting the sack. Overall, a great end to the trilogy of the super hot billionaire brothers.

Rylee & Hayden meet on a private plane flight that crash lands on a deserted island. An island that Hayden just conveniently happens to own.
Rylee thinks she already knows who Hayden is based on something that happened in the past. She jumps to conclusions and assumes she knows what type of man he is, but it only takes a couple of days of forced proximity to fall for each other. I enjoyed Hayden's personality and how Rylee helped him realize he could do more good in the world with his billions.
Overall, I'm not super big on intsalove, but it's expected in romance books around 100 pages, so it was enjoyable enough. The final book in the series will follow the 3rd brother, Dylan.

Logan & Mia Logan needs to get married in order to inherit his dying grandpa's company that he's already CEO of. Mia has been his assistant for 2 years, so she's the obvious choice to be his fake wife. The contract is signed and 2 days later he introduces his fiance to grandpa and he doesn't think anything is fishy, hmmm, a bit far fetched there.
If you've read fake relationship books before then you know how this is going to go down. I'm so happy we had dual POV to see how both characters were slowly realizing their feelings for each other. Logan was really sweet taking care of Mia. Mia had a nice relationship with her mom.
Overall, this was a quick read coming in a little over 100 pages, but it didn't feel quick. We've met Logan's brothers, Hayden and Dylan, and I'm excited to see what they have to offer in their own books.

Bennett & Claire spent a summer crushing on each other 9 years ago. Now Claire is back in the Carolina Banks on business. Bennett is happy to see her, but he's not too happy about the resort proposal she is trying to get approved in his small town.
Bennett is a flannel wearing grumphole most of the time with his pooch Larry in tow wherever he goes. He's one of 8 siblings and their bond was evident. He's a great uncle too ~ I absolutely loved when he went to Dad's and Doughnuts Day at school with niece, Sophia. Claire is a hardworking attorney just in town for a short time, so it doesn't make much sense to get involved with Bennett. But they can't seem to deny their attraction even though they have opposing opinions on the resort.
I thought the Banks Brew Co. was quite the clever name for Bennett's bar on one side for the night owls and Carmen's coffee shop on the other for the early birds. It's just one example of how tight knit the family really is. There isn't any rivalry just good old banter between them.
I gotta have one little gripe ~ Claire spent one summer there 9 years ago, 9! and she was acting like she knew everything about the place. That's a short amount of time and so long ago to still know what's up with a place IMO, but maybe that's what small town living is like.
Overall, a delightful start to a new series. I do like series that follow siblings and I'm looking forward to ~ One Perfect Kiss next.

Macon & Eliza As Macon goes into his senior year he's tired of his bad boy image, so when he sees a girl reading a book at a party he's ready to put his playboy ways behind him. Eliza would rather be in her dorm reading then at a party, but when Macon shows a little interest in her she knows he's the one that she wants to be her first.
I've read all of Gigi's short stories, but I think this one is the shortest of them all at only 25 pages, so I can't say too much without giving the whole story away. If you like any of what I feature then give it a whirl because it won't take up too much of your time.

This is book 2 in The Conditions series that follows Maggie and Jane's amateur sleuthing. I did not read Turn Key Condition, so I have no clue if this is really a standalone. I know that's when Maggie met her boyfriend, Tuna, who is the local cop, but that's about it.
Featuring ~ multiple 3rd person POV, cozy mystery, murder, under 100 pages
We mainly follow characters: Jane, Maggie, Tuna, Lilith & Dominga.
Maggie's estranged sister in law, Viv, dies at the hair salon while Jane is under the industrial hood dryer. As the story unfolds and the narrators alternate, the author sneakily builds up the mystery surrounding Viv's death. I did have my inklings along the way and although I figured out the who I did not guess the why.
Most of the characters were well developed. We have a few hate~able ones as expected. I liked Jane's side gig of working on the Jane Doe website where they match missing persons with dead bodies ~ is that really a thing?
Overall, a quick read that, while isn't perfect, gets the job done as a cozy mystery.

Weston & Elise's first date was hot! And not the hot you are thinking ~ her hair caught on fire, which ends the already disastrous date.
Her hopes to never see him again are short lived when she learns he is her new boss.
They were both frustrating characters for most of the book, which is expected with enemies to lovers. Elise more so than Weston. I loved how Weston took care of Tyler. He has a sad story, but was perfectly written for the age of 3 with temper tantrums and all. Weston said some things towards the end that I woulda hauled off and cracked him for. All in all, another alright addition to the series.

Emily starts to feel like part of the Reid family again as they welcome her with open arms. I really enjoyed everyone in Chase's family. Chase was so sweet and you could just feel his love for Emily through the pages. Their chemistry was on point.
Overall, I really, really liked this one, but I am very upset about the lack of communication that resulted in 8 years wasted. 8 years!! I wish there was a little more information on the infertility too. All ends well 5 years later, but that's an awfully long time to waste.
