I am speechless. 24 hour read. My new favourite of the Part Of Your World Series (how is that even possible).
Wonderful characters, deep seeded emotional trauma written in the best way, incredible supporting characters and the BEST plot twist.

Pro's: super realistic Italian villa setting (I felt like I knew every nook of this place), believable characters and a good amount of characters. Also, super short!
Con's: not enough thriller, definitely more suspense.
Think Daisy Jones and the Six as psychological suspense. Just mid for me so straight down the middle at a 2.5....more

1 ok plot twist hence the second star but honestly if I cared enough about this book I would have figured it out. Still have no idea who Nate is or his relevance to this story.

Aside from that, it was absolutely brilliant! Amazing detective plot line alongside our FMCs jess’ account. Great romantic subplot. Incredible plot twist ending.
Yessss Clare Mackintosh does it again!!!! Maybe I should be a Clare Mack fan account at this point...

I absolutely loved getting to know our FMC Ffion Morgan, what a woman! I literally finished this book and immediately picked up Game of Lies the next in the DC Morgan series. I adored the Welsh representation in this and Ffions growing relationship with Leo.
However... this one took me a lot longer to get into than Clare's other books, there was a lot of characters to get your head round introduced quite quickly. Around 20% I nearly gave up but had faith in my love for Clare's writing and of course I'm incredibly glad I did!
Absolutely brilliant debut novel from Louise Minchin! and thanks to Louise herself for gifting me a signed copy.

The concept was excellent and the setting was extremely well described I really could picture our location (this would be so great to read in a remote cabin somewhere cold). The character pool was diverse and well represented, and empowering topics were touched upon.
However, I do wish the stakes had been a little higher from these characters and we got more of an outsider looking in POV maybe from the film crew or family/friends on the outside to give it more depth. I also would have loved a few chapters after the final reveals from the characters after the main story took place.
I did guess the overall murder mystery element but I feel that's based on the volume of books I read not on the author's imagination. But I would definitely recommend and would pick up another book by this author x...more

Great twist, pulled everything full circle. But there were one too many POVs in this for me, and too many sub plots I could barely keep up! Maybe if I had read this in one sitting I may have been less confused.
The main female character was absolutely reckless and not an FMC I could root for either....more

3 stars. Great story and brilliant narration! Felt as life like as a film.

But overall I was slightly disappointed with the predictability. I was so convinced there must be a big plot twist coming as it was more than obvious for the first few chapters what had happened. The story was gripping and emotional but just needed some more turns.
But I think this is very fitting with Lucinda Berry's normal writing style. I could have predicted here as the author a mile away.

Everything else I had to do yesterday went completely out the window. I could not stop reading it. Millie and Enzo are back 11 years later and are moving into their own house with their 2 children. But when they get there the neighbours are SUPER sus.
As a thriller girly (who isn’t a fan of detective stories) thriller series are RARE. Especially with characters who are as BADASS as Millie. So you best believe I was dying to read the third housemaid book.
This instalment definitely took a different direction than what I was expecting. It was a lot more suspenseful than thriller, but had an AMAZING change of pace half way through. Most of the action did happen in the latter half of the book which wasn’t maybe needed as it’s a series, but Freida probably left this open so it could also be read as a standalone. The best part was seeing previous characters and the relationships they had built.

The narrator absolutely sold me on this book. We never find out his real name but he goes by the alias Tobias. He would literally do anything for his wife, who is… a psycho (putting it lightly).

The setting was SUPER eery. I started this on audio and loved it so much I switched to the physical copy. Our 2 main characters are brilliant and well developed.
I feel like this could have been about 50 pages shorter but I still loved it nevertheless. I was so routing for the two main characters to get together, what is wrong with me haha.
Great premise and brilliant ending. 4.5 stars....more
