Loved it !! Absolutely brilliant!! Wonderful dark fantasy romance book where the romance is not there yet but all the seeds are there, ready to bloom!!! Wow !! We have Lydia, a forensic autopsy tech, waking up one morning with a red and itchy tattoo on her arm and a vampire corpse at work? what is that? Until she is kidnapped alongside her friend to the Under, a world similar to Hell, with monsters and creatures as hot and they are dangerous but which cannot reproduce themselves. So mortals are selected by the gods to undergo the Ceremony of the Fall and be part of their community. Only Lydia is not like the others? Why? Well, for starters she is visited in her dreams by a lord calling himself Aon, who’s as handsome as scary. And sooner rather than later she will find herself in the middle of a situation she really does not want to be part of. This book was dark, funny, entertaining, interesting and oh so unique !!! It felt a lot like getting back to the iron crystal series but this time with even a slower slow burn!!! Although I still don’t have enough information about the romance itself so … I find myself ever very intrigued !!! The writing style was very easy to read and the plot and action felt as effortless to get through as breathing!!! I read it in one sitting !!! And I already need more!!

“I love. A simple but powerful statement, and a fool's errand. But we all wore that facade here.”
Really enjoyed this book. Dark paranormal romance that was very spicy and very intriguing and it’s perfect both to get out of a reading slump and read in one sitting!!! It’s engaging, entertaining and addicting and I fell for the main characters!!! We have arranged marriage, forced proximity, vampires, a bit of curses and war and a male main character who’s absolutely obsessed with her. Plus, you know me, when the “my wife” trope enters the room, I’m a puddle on the floor. I’m such a goner for it. And Sebastian here … he did it brilliantly!! I’m in love !!! Totally and absolutely!! It felt like a pretty short story so it was easy to read in one time and the writing style made the good easy to get into and not too hard to follow. Add to that the absolute gothic vibes of the castles and the enchanting characters’ dynamics and you have a great book to read before the spooky season !!! And the romance well … I do so love a morally grey, dark and brooding and obsessed and feral man … plus, he really knows what he is doing!! So there’s nothing I have to complain about !!!

“Mindwalking was nothing else Thank you so much to the author and the publisher, HarperCollins, for sharing an ARC of this book with me on NetGalley!!
“Mindwalking was nothing else than reaching out for a face I'd seen, a name I knew, and seeking the impression that the world had made upon that mind. But that was all that it was - an impression - not the absolute truth.”
I had a good time reading this book. A fantasy story with enemies to lovers, love triangle, found family and rapunzel retelling with mindwalks and ghosts and war and power plots that will make your head spin and you yourself constantly question the situation. The events in this story take place ages before those in the main book in this series and it is a standalone. I only had one issue with it. I felt more than once completely confused and at loss as to what was happening to whom and who was whom. This might be probably correlated to the fact that the entire book was written in chapters detailing the events of the present alongside chapters with flashbacks from the past. And since they happen to be side by side, there are many things you don’t fully understand until the last third of the book. It felt pretty much like the first fantasy book in a series that you have to get into and comprehend but made a bit more difficult by this decision. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the story and the main characters and I feel like having read book one, before this prequel, might have helped me out a bit. I appreciated that we got to know more about this world’s story and past. It did clarify some questions that I had. Even though that ending was definitely bittersweet … I feel like I would have liked more. But it makes total sense in the grand scheme of things.

“I meant what I said in the maze all those weeks ago. She's mine. I'm never going to let her go. Even if I have to hunt her down to prove it to her”
Did I love it? Absolutely. Did I fell even more in love with this dark and twisted and mafia vibes like version of the Olympus? Definitely. Have just developed an unhealthy obsession with a man who’s going around calling himself the Minotaur and is absolutely obsessed with Ariadne? Possibly. Once again this author made me a mess. Absolutely thrilled and amazed and delighted to read these stories and these characters. This is book seven in the Dark Olympus series and despite the fact that the single dark romances story are pretty much self-standing. In order to understand the overall plot that’s going on on the background, threatening our characters’ peace, you better read them in order. This time around the romance is spicy (as per usual), it’s addictive and it’s intense but it’s a friends to lovers romance, at least as friends as these two could have been in their world. But the way he is obsessed with her … gosh it made me melt on the floor. The length he would go to, in order to protect her, even when her own father is asking him to unalive her … made me feral for him, while they were feral for one another. There’s something so sexy about two characters being so overwhelmed by their love for one another that they can’t control their action when they’re together. I loved it. And the complex things happening between the Thirteen and Olympus itself … gosh I already know I need more in this series !!
“I don't give a füçk about begging permission to take what's mine. You know as well as I do that the next time you see me, you're going to end up on my ć0čk just like you are right now. "Be ready for me, Ariadne. Or I'll bend you over the table right in front of your fiancé and all those cameras."
“I have been in love with this woman since I was a kid, but it's never felt like this before. As if the overwhelming need I had for her, to be around her, has morphed into something infinitely stronger. As if she's pulled my heart right out of my chest with her bare hands.”...more

This book was surprisingly good. A dark fantasy book with a witch, reincarnation of a fae queen who wants revenge, and a fae prince who wants his kingdom back. It was dark, spicy, addicting and vengeful and I loved it. Our fmc, America felt a lot like Dianna from the gods and monsters series and she is the morally grey one in the group. In the meanwhile we have our own hero, Xander who wants to get back home to his people and free them of a tyrant. Action packed and with an amazing characters’ dynamic scenes, this is a story of pain, suffering, justice, tension, bonds, romance and a woman who wants power for herself without having to feel bound to a man. I mean who doesn’t want to read about that? And when blood bonds are introduced into the picture … goodness me, I’m a goner. There might also have been a love triangle … and a dark one at that … honestly … I’m really happy about it!! It felt like the right choice to spice things up even more than they already were!! And they were really complicated !!! And after that last chapter … I NEED THE SEQUEL !!!
“The maker has spoken; our fate has been dealt. Now we respond."

This book was PERFECT !!! Exactly what I wanted and then some !!! A dark fantasy romance book perfect for fans of Caraval but with the Devil and demons and ghosts and Phantoms and a twisted, dangerous game where you truly have to be mindful about the deal you make. Ophelia our fmc is wonderful and so relatable and she is the perfect representation of that firstborn girl who is trying too look after her sister, even following her into a terrible and dangerous maze like Phantasma (so much like Scarlett and Donatella Dragna is Caraval). This book was magic, was hell, was darkness, was light, was mental health rep but in a magical way. It was family, sisterhood and love. It was enemies to allies to lovers. It was forced proximity, forbidden romance (because you can’t fall in love while in the game) and it was also “who did this to you”, and “you came, you called” … some absolutely wonderful trope. It was badass female main character and shadow daddy male main character. It had all the best vibes a book in this genre can give you. I felt absolutely hooked from the very first moment and I read it in one sitting because I could not put it down!!! Was the final plot twist unexpected? I could have figure it out … but I did gasp when I read it!!! Too much was I into the story that I was living it through Ophelia’s eyes so to me … it was all incredibly new and confusing and frustrating and sexy and complicated. In one word … it was perfect !!! I cannot wait for this book to be out !!! I need a physical copy !!!

As always when I’m reading these books I find myself having fun and getting through another historical drama period where wars are threatening the little balance Dan has on his life. Dan and Sam are together again and they find themselves in the middle of a mongol war. More action, more history, more new characters, more truths about Victor and how he was involved in Dan’s father’s death. And I absolutely loved the relationship between Dan and Sam !!! Always have and always will and I’m pretty sure that it will continue to evolve in the next books. I loved that in this book there is even more of real life and time jump colliding in Dan’s existence and I was there for it. The way he tried to balance his regular life as a student with the possibility to get a girlfriend, and his life as a time traveller… it’s hard to get a normal life when you jump from one period to the other. Loved it !! The great thing about this author is that she is able to write dark romance books of different kind (this one’s a mafia romance in a college setting) without me feeling like it’s too much or it’s pushing my boundaries. She writes so beautifully that she makes it look easy and getting through every page is never a bother. Meeting Leo and Anna was wonderful. Their story was of friends to lovers with a dark and a bit twisted love triangle in the middle. Don’t get me wrong, I might have stand for Dean for a while because the friends to lovers trope is not at all my favourite. But I could not not love this young man. Leo is just … good. Simply the perfect puzzle piece for her. Right what she needed and exaclty what she wanted. And at the end of the journey is not about being proud. It is all about being loved. This book was the perfect combination of spice and romance and dark and action. And it felt great! I absolutely read it in one sitting because I genuinely could not put it down. And there might be some surprises in this new republished version of this book that I feel readers will be in love with !!! Something that’s very similar to what we found in Minx!!!

What a wonderful book! Dark and complicated and gothic and spicy and addicting!! So so good!! I loved it!!! I don’t know if I loved the dark gothic vibes more of the complex shape the characters took while they were acting in the story. A young woman who becomes the assistant of a professor in an old house hunted by who knows which spirits inspired by the Gaelic folklore! This book was full of darkness, trauma, pain, suffering and also romance with some of my favourite tropes: forced proximity, enemies to lovers, constant banter and undeniable attraction that won’t be easy to fight off. Millie was such a sweet and caring character and I instantly loved her and could emphasise with her. I honestly would have fallen for him too, in her shoes. And Callum … I don’t know if I liked him more as the “professor” or as the man who lost a wife he loved desperately and he has some secrets I can’t wait to unfold !! And the spicy scenes !!! I always enjoy mystery books and if the main investigators is a woman with wit and determination … even better. This time around I was pleasantly surprised from a narrative that was engaging and action packed. I loved that we got to meet different characters and their investigation throughout this murder that seemed at the beginning really hard to solve (don’t they all, really?). But Rachel managed to do it all. Following the clues appearing slowly and leading us to the solution, one I can safely say I was not expecting (is it me, so is it simply being too long since I’ve read a book like this with hidden relationships and too many secrets?). From fae to dragons to werewolves, I lived through all of them and I honestly constantly find myself wanting more!!! This one especially was funny, lighthearted and entertaining as well as occasionally spicy (very very enjoyable scenes to be honest) and romantic. It was enough action packed to never let me leave for too long. And there’s something about werewolves mates that I simply can’t resist, it seems. Dom and Juniper had the enemies to lovers kinda dynamic that is effectively coming out of him kidnapping her for a certain reason and her despising him for it. I absolutely adored this book! It was fantastic and marvellous and amazing and I can’t help but feel overwhelmed by all the feelings I experienced. Characters in their 30s. A king in desperate need of a healer for his son. A priestess in need to take her vow, with a secret past, a troubled one and some scars as constant reminders. A love blossoming were it should even exists. A game of gods and immortals where she is nothing but a pawn even without fully realising her potential. It’s a fantasy romance book worth the name. It has dark traits and it is complicated. It’s painful and healing and sweet and sometimes romantic and it gives us an introduction of how potential spicy it can be. Of course, it ended with a massive cliffhangers, leading to me desperately needing for more. More of Theron, our brooding, tormented and broken king. More of Callista and her hope and strength and resilience and passion. More of this Greek inspired world with its gods and titans and powerful dynamics that I still need to understand. Aimee’s such a badass female main character and, from what I remember of Evie, they couldn’t be more different. But they do have some similar traits. And their love interests … nothing to complain about. Harrison in this instant was a lot grumpy and crazy for her and a bit brooding. Traumatic past and feelings that are effected from it. An overwhelming passion for a strange woman who’s constantly vexing him until he won’t be able to stand it anymore. But a good hearted man who would see her dreams fulfilled and her passions completed. This book was fun, entertaining, intriguing, sweet and spicy as heck. Wow. I’m more than a little bit surprised about how much I enjoyed reading this book. Don’t get me wrong, the premise was great. And the intro of it was more than a little bit interesting. But it turned into something so much more than what I was expecting and I really really enjoyed it!! Imagine hunger games but with covens and a young woman with the God of Death’s power only no one wants that kind of power. Also imagine that that same god, comes back to life in a kind of mortal form because he has caged all his siblings for some reason he can’t remember and there’s a prophesy she is the one who can break their cage and he needs to stop her. Sounds interesting? Because it was to me. And when I got to meet Calista and Azkiel … I became obsessed!!! Not only their story and their enemies to lovers dynamic was great, but also the author helped us out with the whole new fantasy world situation with a full glossary at the beginning and a writing that made the action go smoothly and made me feel hooked by the plot. When I found myself into it, I almost didn’t want to go on because I didn’t want for it to be over. This book was the perfect combination of magic, action, spice, love and darkness. "Your words were like a drug to my soul," he says throatily, stealing my next breath. "I was completely captivated and devastated with every sentence you threw my way, so yes, you are my poison, and I can think of no better way to die."...more

“I can't go from "how have you been" to "pin me against this damn tree and fuck me until I scream your name" in the space of an hour, even if I desperately want to.”
“He's here for me. That's pretty fucking clear. And as much as I care about him, as flattered as I am, there's a magnificence to the gesture that overwhelms me.”
This book was bloody brilliant!! A Great Gatsby retelling with magic twists and vampires !!! I loved it !!! Totally and completely!! It had all the best things of the original book but in a contemporary setting and fantasy ambiance!! It is a great idea!! Daisy is such a good female main character. I felt like, despite some of her most frustrating moments, she was determined and willing to make her life better, facing her insecurities and the truths of her past and her present with Jay. Talking about the man himself… he is a masterpiece !!!! Do you know when they say “he did it all for her”? This is him !!! The lengths this man is willing to go to for her and her alone … I want that!! It made me fall in love for him even harder. Of course, if we add the fact that they were best friends to strangers to lovers and he has some morally grey and mysterious secrets … it only contributes to the charm. I knew this book was one of my most anticipated releases of the year. And I was right in thinking that it would have surprised me in the best possible way. I was already interested in the author and her stories but now … I need to read them all !! I’m so so glad I got a chance to read it !!
"Speaking of creepy, is there a noncreepy way to be obsessed with someone?" His voice is husky, barely audible through the bellowing of the oncoming zombies. "Because I'm kind of obsessed with you, and I'm trying not to be weird about it."
“This isn't a fairy tale. The beast doesn't turn into a prince through the power of love—it's the other way around. I always preferred the beast anyway.”...more

“If you're not expecting a kiss, it means the chemistry, the body language, is all off. You have to long for that kiss, yearn for it with every fibre of your being, stop to lean against a wall in a dark alleyway and hope the other person will seize the moment and go in for a deep snog with the stars all twinkling above you.”
Funny lighthearted and sweet romcom perfect for the beginning of the summer season. I felt swept away in the chaotic world of a woman left behind by her boyfriend and with a desperate need of a new beginning. Her life is as chaotic as her personality but she is such a sunshine even when she doesn’t know it. I guess the grumpy sunshine trope in this one felt a bit blurred. Especially since it is a neighbour romance starting when you least expect it and with two people with oh, so different personalities. But I had plenty of fun reading about them. Classic romcom without too much of a slow burn, simply a blossoming feeling that seems not real but then it is, and a classic third act break-up. Absolutely nothing to complain about. And I would also like to add that some side characters made me giggle and laugh multiple times so … it’s great !
“I won't cry. I can't afford to break down. Life is just a series of challenges and I have to rise to this one.”
