I’ve read several Karen Kingsbury books, and Just Once is my favorite thus far. I loved getting Irvel and Hank’s story. Most of it took place during WW2, and its history is fascinating. I loved the faith aspect and of course the romance. Overall, this was a beautiful novel, and I highly recommend it!

Love, Utley was a sweet second-chance romance between Hannah and Maddox. These two have a moment in college and it’s going somewhere until Hannah urgently has to go home. Now they’re both in their 30s and haven’t seen each other since. There is a little complication though- Maddox is Hannah’s new boss. This was an enjoyable quick romance I would recommend!

Why We Sleep was an interesting read about sleep. I was hoping for some new info/solutions for poor sleep, but this was a lot more information about the scientific facts about sleep (and lack of sleep) and not a ton of new info about getting better sleep. Aside from the normal, go to sleep at the same time each night, stay off devices, keep your room cool, etc. The narrator’s voice was pleasant, and if you’re looking for info on the importance of sleep and the major risks of not getting good, regular sleep (yikes for me…) this is one I would recommend.

Well, this one hit me right in the feels. Not in the feel good way, but in the heart wrenching way. It was heavy and more emotional than I thought it would be, but so well done. It deals heavily with grief, but in the end it’s about finding yourself again and getting a second chance at love.

I haven’t read a Mariah Dietz book in a while, and I’m so glad I picked this one up! It was a great college sports romance. I love a good coming of age story and watching Evelyn come into her own was great. I also loved the scenery. And of course, Hudson. Looking forward to more from this series.

This was a good second chance/MC romance. I liked both Callie and Wes but wasn’t a huge fan of the jumping back and forth from past to present. Sometimes that works well in books, but in this case not so much. At least not for me.I’m looking forward to reading the next one because I’m curious about the other characters and enjoyed the author’s writing style.

A powerful middle-grade novel about the childhood activism of Betty Shabazz, Malcolm X’s wife, written by their daughter.
‘Betty Before X’ takes place in the 40s and follows Betty Shabazz through her childhood and adolescence. Betty is the wife of Malcolm X, but in this book, she’s just a young girl dealing with family issues and starting into activism. Betty’s story is important and powerful. I love that her daughter wrote and narrated it. I recommend this one for all middle-grade readers (and adults :))

I was excited to read this after ‘Autumn Nights’ which is a book I love so much! I loved this for a while, but honestly, it made me so angry. I didn’t hate how it ended, but the love triangle troupe only works for me sometimes, and this one didn’t.

Max and Ella met when they were children and they became best friends. They were separated when Ella moved away and didn’t see each other again until their teens. Ella’s life is a mess and Max’s isn’t easy either.
I don’t want to go too far into the plot because I liked not knowing what had happened or what was happening. It kept me on the edge of my seat and intrigued all the way through. I have some thoughts and theories (specifically about Ella’s brother).
This book was emotional, intriguing, and romantic. The love story was so beautiful. I love a devoted hero so much, and Max was perfection. Catching the Sun is a mature YA novel that you don’t want to miss out on!
”Romanticize your life. Don't live every day like it's your last. Live every day like it's your first. Lasts are tragic. Firsts are exciting and full of celebration.”

I’m going to be honest… based on the cover of this book I thought this was a romance. It was definitely more of a mystery. It was interesting and it took me a minute to get into but once I did I was intrigued. This fell a bit flat for me at the end, but as a whole it was good.

The DM Diaries was a fun and flirty rom-com that kept me smiling throughout listening to the audiobook. Teagan Hunter always does a great job at balancing being funny, but also putting depth and emotion into her books and as always she did it seamlessly with this one.
Jude and Olive meet for the first time twice and both times are memorable and different from what they seem. I loved both their in-person and online meeting. Their banter was fantastic and I adored them both. This book was a good time and even though this was written as a standalone, I would love a book about Jude’s brother!

I've read all of Emma Lord's books and while her YA and NA books were great for me, this one felt very meh. Levi and June... I didn't feel a spark between them and I got so fed up with Levi and his ex situation. The ending was nice but by that point I was a bit over it. I enjoy Emma Lord's writing and I hope this was just a fluke for me.

Gannon and Adeline’s story was an emotional second chance romance about a rock star and the one that got away. I enjoyed this author's voice and overall the book was good. The heroine was fairly stubborn and I could have done without the drama from the hero’s female friend but otherwise it was a nice read.
