This book tells a story of a 14-year-old Tig who's very small for his age. He gets to all sorts of trouble and one evening he witnesses several crimes. Problem is, nobody seems to believe him so he decides to investigate on his own.
Quite a good and absorbing story for pre-teens and younger teens.
Back in 1981, before books for Young Adults became all post-apocalyptic, this taut little mystery was published. Protagonist Tig is a truant and tearaway, but when he witnesses a crime, the Police don't believe him. Tig takes it upon himself to investigate. This is no Enid Blyton adventure. It's gritty and realistic, and our hero certainly has his flaws. Things take an eerie turn when he encounters a gang of feral children, but the biggest surprise comes bang at the end. Gripping and vividly written, this book would make an excellent film.
Excellent mystery story with an eerie twist about the strange rituals kids get up to when they form weird gangs. More details here: https://discontinuednotes.com/2021/07...
