This was my third visit to Resolute, TX. Ms. Marshman did it again. All three books in the series are great, but this so far is my favorite. The book stands alone, but as with the second book, it was nice to catch up with some of the characters from the previous books. This time a local resident, Rachel, is accused of murdering her ex-husband no less. Townspeople seemed to like her, especially Chief Deputy Adam. But like most small towns, there’s gossip. There are a few murders to be solved and connections to be made while trying to keep Rachel and her family safe. Rachel is one tough cookie and won’t let anyone harm her family. Along the way, there is some romance. I’m looking forward to book 4. I received an advance copy of the book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Boy the Reed family has their hands full protecting the residents of Resolute! Resolute Investigation is Adam Reed's story and it was a great addition to the series. Adam is the quiet, thoughtful brother of the Reed family and is the deputy chief of the Boone County sheriff's office. While his sister (and superior) is away on her honeymoon Adam is in charge of the office. He really has his hands full when one of the town's residents is found murdered in his apartment. The first person that Adam wants to question regarding this man's death is the ex-wife who just happens to be Adam's unrequited high school love, Rachel Miller. Rachel is a hard working single mother that has a drawer full of regrets but her children aren't one of them. She works full time at Resolute's diner while attending college online to finish her degree in Business. She has big plans of leaving this small town and making a full life for herself and her children since her ex-husband barely is a part of their lives. When Adam approaches her about her ex's death she's shocked but has no clue why anyone would have killed him. As time unfolds Rachel is attacked at her mother's home and just can't understand why this is happening. Adam is determined to solve the reasons behind these crimes and maybe he might get a chance with Rachel that he missed out on before. Resolute Investigation has quite a few twists and turns and will keep you glued to the pages. It was told from dual POV and just a bit of heat and plenty of action to keep me reading till the end.

We are back in Resolute, Texas getting a closer look at another Reed sibling. Chief Deputy Adam Reed is in charge while his sister is away on her honeymoon. When he is called to the scene of a homicide, he is gut punched. The victim is the ex-husband of Rachel Miller, and Rachel recently threatened him in public. Rachel Miller is a single mother just trying to make a living. Adam has to go visit her because she is, of course, a prime suspect since she is the ex-wife. His police mind knows that the public threat has to be taken seriously, but he just cannot make his heart believe her capable of this atrocity because he knows her character. It is made even harder for him because he has had a crush on Rachel since high school. You soon realize that he is still carrying a torch for her even now.
As other things start happening, it seems that Rachel may be in danger as well. This is a well written police procedural with plenty of suspense and intrigue. There is a romance brewing just beneath the surface even as they both try to fight their feelings. You better find a place to roost once you start reading this book because you will not be able to close the book until you finish it in its entirety.
Leslie Marshman knows how to pull you into her story. As each of these stories are written and characters from the previous books are in it as well, I feel as if I am hearing from an old friend. I look forward to seeing more installments in The Protectors of Boone County series.

What he isn't expecting is for her to be attacked in her own home. That fact alone tells him Rachel is innocent and in danger until he can figure out who is behind her ex-husband's death. If you love a solid whodunit with a side of sweet romance, you're going to love how Adam saves the day AND wins the girl. As an avid reader of the series, I can't wait to see how the rest of the Reed boys find love!

I love Resolute, Texas and enjoyed this visit with old friends - book 3 in the PROTECTORS OF BOON COUNTY, TX series. This is a standalone, although it is nice to visit with the friends that we met in the first 2 books of this series.

Resolute Investigationis Lesley Marshman’s third book in the series centres on the Reed family and based in Resolute, Texas. While the stories are linked, you can read each one as a stand-alone if you prefer. In this book, Boone County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Adam Reed is facing several murders that appear to be gang related. Rachel Novotny, whom Adam has secretly loved for years, is the ex-wife of the first murder victim and while Adam is certain she has nothing to do with it, he still needs to follow up. Rachel has admired Adam for years too, though she’s never admitted it. She’s never believed herself good enough for Adam, though she is a hard worker, is raising two young children alone and studying online at college. I loved watching the growing relationship between these two, while the action going on in the background and the ramped up danger as the story progressed certainly kept me guessing. This is a nice addition to the series and I am looking forward to reading Nate’s story.

This is the 3rd book in the Protectors Of Boon County Texas series, and I have loved them all. This one focuses on Adam, the oldest Reed son, who is also part of the Boone County police department annd has had a crush on Rachel as long as he can remember. And Rachel, a long time waitress at Busy B’s Cafe. She is a single mom who is trying to better her life by taking online classes. But when her ex husband shows up looking for something, things go south real quick. And then , it isn’t just her ex looking for it…whatever it is. They are sure Rachel has it, and she has no idea what they are looking for. But they are willing to kill to get it back. Putting her, her children, and her Mom in danger, Adam is bound and determined to keep them safe until these bad guys are brought to justice. Lots of action, suspense and edge of your seat page turning!

Things get really complicated for Chief Deputy Adam Reed on the job when a murder occurs in Boone County while his boss (and sister) leaves him in charge of the office and the dead guy turns out to be the slime ball the girl of his dreams had married while he was away at college. Knowing Rachel was definitely not the killer despite publicly threatening to off her deadbeat ex, Adam struggles with boundaries even as if becomes apparent that Rachel is now the target. Riding along with another Reed sibling as they face love, murder and their own siblings is always a sure fire good read and this one did not disappoint! Now what’s up with Nate and Sara...hmmm?

Book 3 of the series. I enjoyed the suspense and mystery of who was the killer. Chief Deputy Adam Reed investigated and linked all the clues. Meanwhile Rachel is blowing hot and cold, occasionally throwing tantrums like a brat. Sheesh love is definitely blind. It took me much longer to finish because I did not like this woman. Yes, she's had a rough life, made bad decisions and has to raise her kids alone. But this guy is trying to help you and you're giving him a hard time. Even questioning his skills as an officer of the law!!! Wow. I hope Nate's story is good.

Resolute Investigation by Leslie Marshman! This is Book #3 in The Protectors of Boone County, Texas. Another great book that will keep you turning the pages to find out who dun it! With the Reed siblings in this story that are great characters that will keep you up late to find out what is going to happen next! If you haven't read, you should you Won't be disappointed! I was given a compilatory copy and this is my own honest opinion! I highly recommend this book!

An exciting romantic suspense.
I had a hard time putting this book down. It is non-stop action as Chief Deputy Adam Reed and his team work overtime to find a murderer before someone else ends up dead. Adam also does his best to protect his old high school crush, Rachel Miller. I couldn’t wait to see how this book would turn out and learn who the murderer was and see how Adam and Rachel would finally get their happily ever after.

I loved this book! This is second of the series I have read and it was as good as the first one. Adam Reed had always had a crush on Rachel Miller. Now he has a second chance to tell her how he really feels. First they have to stop the person who is after Rachel. Adam and Rachel were wonderful characters. The story was intriguing and fast-paced, keeping you on the edge of yours seat. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.

Another compelling book, Resolute Investigation. I love following the Reed family in Resolute Tx. This book engages the reader in happiness, sadness, anger, suspicion, excitement, loyalty, love and just when you thought the story was over BAM it continues with a twist. Well done Leslie Marshman!

Another great addition to this series. Chief Deputy Adam Reed is left in charge while the Seriff is on her honeymoon and boy does he have his hands full. From breaking up a drunken fight to multiple deaths, multiple break-ins, and personnel issues. Not to mention that he has to try and remain impartial as he questions Rachel regarding her ex-husband death. And this is a challenge as he's had the hots for her for years. There is plenty of suspense and danger as the murders and break-ins are investigated but there's also a nice balance of humor (a lot of that supplied by his twin brothers).
