100 years in the future… The world is a post apocalyptic wasteland. What was once thriving with life is now a desolate wilderness. The earth is scorched, the air is toxic, and the world is ruled by mutant monsters. All that remains of humanity lives within a Dome – the only barrier between the last descendants of mankind and the deadly terrors of the outside world.
Dominic, a military cadet at the top of his class, has been demoted to Lowtown, the poorest section of the Dome, after his mentor, Doc, was evicted for committing treason. Forced to lead a bitter new life as a lowly resource worker Dominic’s world is turned upside down when Doc’s journal is left at his doorstep, months after his execution. Embedded within those pages is the shocking truth that the Dome hierarchy has been taking advantage of its citizens, risking human extinction in the process. Now Dominic must follow in Doc’s footsteps, risking eviction himself if he wishes to save the Dome and humanity from total annihilation.

Update 1: 11 December, 2022 Proud to release my new novel, Dome: Rebellion! Available on Amazon from January 10, 2023.
Kudos on a well written new story. I found this particular dystopian set novel quite original, which I think is an increasingly rare thing given that the market is saturated with such stories. I liked the theme of separation of the classes and its physical embodiment with Hightown, Middletown, and Lowtown. Cool antagonist, I can see his motives are yet to be fleshed out so I'm curious to see where that goes. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this book was, very interested to read the sequel.
I am really enjoying this author's work. I read Johnathon Nicolaou's first book and i was on the fence, but after reading the sequel he brought me over, so when i saw he released this the other day I gave it a read out of curiosity and i am glad I did. It's a cool concept for a futuristic dystopia. I think the characters a written well and it kept me turning page after page wanting more. Great new read!
I think this is a fantastic spin on a futuristic dystopia. I enjoyed the characters, particularly Romeo (comedy gold with a great backstory.) The plot and world building was quite interesting, and I enjoyed the idea of the Hightown conspiracy in taking the resources from Middletown and Lowtown.

I don't really review books but I got this book for free because the author did a give away to members on his mailing list. Wasn't expecting much but it was a free book so no harm. But I am so glad I got this book. Allie is such a kick ass character, and I enjoyed the slow burn will they won't they moments
Very cool concept and a well driven plot. Characters were great, I was a bit shaky on Dominic at the start, but loved where he ended up. I enjoyed the will they won't they moments with Allie, and Romeo was a premium level character. Looking forward to the next book in this trilogy!
I found Dominic to be a bit bland for an MC but Romeo, Ally, and even Galan were very well written characters and really carried an intriguing plot. Can't wait to see what they do in the outside world.
Loved the build up between Dominic and Allie. I think there is a lot left open for this series to progress into so I'm excited to see where it will lead to. I do want to see more of Gallen I think he's an interesting character. Is he secretly in love with Allie? And what will happen with Levi now?
Cool concept of a future dystopia. All of humanity left in a dome that is built like an old west town was very interesting. Loses a star because I found Dominic bland at some points, but Romeo was a big page turner for me. Also enjoyed Allie's character.
First off, it's a very solid read. The pacing is good from the beginning of the book, rounding out the story to where it needs to get to leave the reader satisfied. There is a lot of mystery in the book, kicking off from the mysterious appearance of Doc's journal (Doc is Dominic's dead mentor, whose execution was shrouded by mystery) . The story unravels quite nicely, as the mystery of the journal, Hightown, and the noises under the mine create a very good plot. The author leaves a few breadcrumbs leading out of this book and into the sequel, particularly the truth around General Orcus and the secret mine, because I don't believe for a second that he was going after Hightwon. I'm very excited to read the next book. Definitely worth the read. I bought this on kindle as I was hesitant but I'll definitely be grabbing the paperback (and possibly the hardcover) for my shelves.
3.5 I really enjoy this genre and can usually finish a book in a few days, but it took me almost a week to finish despite being a short read. It sort of gives me silo vibes, but in a different setting and for a younger audience. Some of the chapters felt too long and I don't know if it was the style of writing, but it was a hard read for me. Some parts I could read easily and seem to be better written like chapter 17 and a few other throughout the book, but somehow the book felt too long yet rushed at the end. For me, it was easy to spot where things were going and some of the reveals I had already figured out, maybe this series is for a younger crowd and I'm just too old for it, idk. I liked the characters and will probably read the next book in the series and I'm hoping it just gets better and better with each book.
This book is a great new entry into the Dystopian series. My only criticism was that the book was too short, because I would have liked to have a dew more chapters delving into th other characters. We see a bit of Romeo's tragic backstory, but more would have been cool. Same with Allie, not much history on her. that being said, I LOVE these characters so much. Rome especially, there's a lot of mystery surrounding him and it's cool to see he was working with them all along. Dominic was a great protagonist, I loved seeing him climb out of his pit of depression and turn it into purpose in saving the Dome and creating equality.
I think there is a lot of positives to take from this book. First and foremost it was an original concept, something this genre has been lacking lately. Secondly, is this a YA series or an Adult series? The answer, both. I think this story is well suited to all ages. it is a very well written story, though I am looking forward to more character development for Dominic, I think the relationships between the characters (Dominic, Allie, Romeo, and even Ghost) was well executed.
A very readable YA (maybe younger) novel. I think my 13 year-old son would really enjoy this - I’m going to recommend it to him. It’s not really my cup of tea, but then I’m not sure I’m the target audience. I’m an old cynic who’s read pretty much every trope in the genre at one time or another. Having said that I’m keen to know what happens next and might read the sequel! I’ll do it in secret though.
YA, seemingly written by and for middle schoolers. Many commas missing. Cardboard, stock characters (clueless male hero, sidekick, love interest, adult antagonist, adult father figure, ...), stock plot (society is unjust, and only our young hero can see it or do anything about it). A horse that acts like a dog.
I thought it was an interesting premise, and I like the characters dynamics, but this whole post apocalyptic vibe isn't for me. The cliffhanger does have me considering the sequel though...
Any fans of Divergent, Hunger Games YA in general will love this book!! Highly recommend this book for anyone who likes apocalyptic and dystopian genres.
Very cool concept. A dome in a post apocalyptic future with dwindling resources and a conspiracy that could lead to human extinction. Romeo was easily my favourite. he was funny with a lot of layers, a good balance with Dominic who always has a bone to pick with someone. Looking forward to book 2
I feel like the whole Idea of a dome has been used too many times (Under the Dome, Gone series) but I enjoyed the uniqueness of the three diefferent classes of the towns in the dome and the farming, dirt road, and shack vibe of the Lowtown and MiddleTown settings. The characters were interesting and ave the book good depth, though I feel like Levi's motves as an antagonist were slightly weak (the idea of schoolboy competitiveness not bing strong enough IMO) Overall good read, looking forward to the sequel
I love the Hightown twist. It was very weird that the other two towns had no idea what was goin on in there. The underground factory was cool, but I'm still confused as to what the General's ultimate plan is, but I think that is don purposely.
A well writen YA novel. Loses a star as I hoped the characters would be better fleshed out. The only interesting one was Romeo. The rest of the story followed some standard dystopian tropes, but that's never a bad thing
