Santa, Please Bring Me a Boyfriend

Rate this book
As snowflakes fall like icing sugar, I smile at him and feel an unmistakeable spark. And I realise I don’t just fancy the (taut, muscular) arse off this man – a man who probably doesn’t even know I exist – but I actually like him…

This Christmas, Rowan has a long list for Santa:

To get her sex life out of the Sahara

To stop being the lonely singleton in her friendship group (aka the prime target for blind dates that go horribly wrong)

To find out where her confidence went (note to self: check under sofa)

To have someone to curl up with this Christmas, other than a tin of Quality Street

But having had more than her fair share of heartbreak thanks to her ex – with more off-agains and on-agains than Rachel and Ross – she’s starting to think that real love is just wishful thinking…

But Rowan’s friends aren’t so quick to give up, arranging an advent calendar to help get her spark back. And while the gifts make Rowan feel festive – glittery bubble bath, anyone? – what she really wants to unwrap is the guy who delivers them, Alex. With his soft Scottish accent, infectious grin and blue eyes as twinkly as fairylights, Rowan wouldn’t mind finding him in her stocking this Christmas…

Rowan has no clue how to put her heartache behind her and get his attention. Is she brave enough to open the door in mid-December wearing nothing but her new sexy lingerie and shiny lip gloss? Are twenty-five days enough to get her mojo back or will she have to send a strongly-worded letter to Santa after all…?

This totally addictive, fabulous and feel-good romance will give you ALL the Christmas feels this festive season! Perfect for fans of Emily Henry, Sophie Kinsella and Beth O’Leary.

You don't need to read Ranald in order, each of her books can be treated as a stand-alone, but honestly, it makes sense to. You read the first book and it sets up the next character you are going to follow or at least you get glimpses of them. Ranald kind of ran out of room out of the original friend group she was following, so in the last book she jumped to Abbie and Matt. We heard about Abbie's best friends in that one and in this one we follow up with single mom Rowan. I know the title is cutesy, and all, but honestly I loved the plot of this one and thought the whole boyfriend part of it was not really most of the book. There's a guy that Rowan is interested in, but it takes forever with her just kind of coming to terms with herself and her job. The ending was just okay, nothing Earth shattering or anything.

"Santa, Please Bring Me a Boyfriend" follows single mom Rowan. Rowan before the pandemic was a make-up artist, but is now selling (or trying to) sell homes. She thinks a few commissions will set her and her daughter up nicely. Rowan though is feeling a bit blue on the run up to the holidays. Her daughter is going to be spending time with her ex and his family. And she knows she shouldn't, but she had been "stoking those fires with him" for years even though they were were separated. She doesn't feel like celebrating Christmas and then her friend take it upon themselves to sent her a very expensive Advent calendar with her getting gifts every day up to Christmas (her friends purposely remove all of the items except day 1 because they know her too well and know she would just open them all up). Doing so has Rowan meeting handsome delivery guy, Alex, who seems to be in London for mysterious reasons. Both of them start to look forward to the daily drop offs and before she knows it, Rowan starts daydreaming about Alex.

I liked Rowan, but thought that parts of her story were really on her. Being upset about the mess of her relationship with her ex is really on her. I also didn't get what she was getting out of it honestly. I wanted to see what made him so special, but there's no there there. And I have to say, I didn't buy her burgeoning feelings for Alex or his for her. Maybe because Ranald wrote Rowan in first person, and we have Alex in third person. Also Ranald tries to pretend something "dark" is going on with Alex, but it's pretty obvious what was happening and all of that. I just felt bored by the obstacles.

You are probably wondering why I gave this 4 stars though. Honestly, the friends. I loved how they loved Rowan. I loved the whole idea behind a gift a day (FYI, I bought myself three Advent calendars that I am so looking forward to opening once a day) and the book just made me smile thinking about Christmas. There is also Rowans' relationship with her daughter that I thought was great as well. And in the end she finally, finally calls out her ex and the BS that has been going on there between them on a lot of issues that I was glad to see.

Oh and we do get some hot romance scenes that I was actually surprised to see as written. Ranald has not done the fade to black or anything in her other scenes, but this one and I think the last one too were more explicit than her usual writing. Not complaining.

The ending was good, just not Earth shattering I thought. Can't wait for the next one.

Santa, Please Bring Me a Boyfriend by Sophie Ranald
This is such a cute, funny, and romantic book! Rowan and Alex were very addictive. Both were very well created characters. Rowan I completed identified with as a person, and Alex is just a textbook book boyfriend. This was more of a sweet slow-burn romance over a steamy story, but I liked it. It just worked. Well thought out original plot, with some fantastic characters thrown in. I recommend.
Many thanks to Sophie Ranald, NetGalley, and Bookouture for the advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Santa, Please Bring Me a Boyfriend, by Sophie Ranald. For the holidays Rowan's friends send her an advent calendar. Each day until Christmas she will receive a gift. Alex is the delivery driver on Rowan's route. There is an attraction between the two, but will the couple find a connection?

This book is a sweet romance with humor generously sprinkled in. The cast of characters is delightful and put you in the Christmas spirit. It is a wonderful story about friendship and love. Sophie Ranald is the author of 18 books. Additionally, she writes for magazines. This is my first read by the talented author and I look forward to more of her work.

Santa, Please Bring Me a Boyfriend is available on October 7th.

Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture, for sharing this heartfelt book with me. I appreciate your kindness.

3.5 stars!

Rowan's friends decide they will cheer her up this Christmas with a gift-a-day advent calendar, and Alex is the delivery driver who brings these gifts every day.

This story was so unique! It was such an interesting and captivating read, I'm so happy I requested this on Netgalley. Sophie Ranald's writing has such a sense of familiarity and you can just dive straight back into her world of characters.

A great festive read, I highly recommend it!

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'Santa Please Bring Me A Boyfriend' by Sophie Ranald

Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Sophie Ranald, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous

Publication date 7th October 2022.

This is the second book I have read by this author. I have also read 'He's Cancelled' which I would highly recommend.

I was originally drawn to this book by its  intriguing cover and its hilarious sounding synopsis and title. The synopsis stated that 'This totally addictive, fabulous and feel-good romance will give you ALL the Christmas feels this festive season! Perfect for fans of Emily Henry, Sophie Kinsella and Beth O’Leary.' I am a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella so am looking forward to seeing if this lives up to this statement. I am also a huge fan of Sophie Ranald and if this book is half as good as 'He's Cancelled' it's guaranteed to be a page turner. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture  that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).

This novel consists of 41 chapters. The chapters are short to medium in length so easy to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

This book is based in England, UK 🇬🇧 . I always enjoy when books are partly or fully set in the UK as I'm from Wales and have sometimes visited areas mentioned in the book. This makes it easier to picture where the scenes are set at times. I have in fact visited and gone on holiday in England on many occasions so am looking forward to possibly recognising name places.

This book is written in a mix of third and first person perspective and the protagonists are Rowan and Alex. The benefits of books written in first person perspective are as long as they are well written it makes you feel that you are being spoken to by the protagonist and it can create more of a bond between yourselves and them. If there are several protagonists you also get to see more of what is going on. The benefits of third person perspective with multiple protagonists are that it let's you see the bigger picture of what's going on and you get to know more characters more, what they are thinking and what they are doing. It feels like you get to see the whole picture and not miss out in anything. To have the benefit of both first and third person perspective ensures you don't miss out on anything.

What an absolutely fantastic laugh a minute, heart warming, stunning must read!!! Absolutely loved it fairplay!!! This book has fantastic descriptions that set you straight in the scenes. The cover, title and synopsis suit the storyline perfectly.

The storyline itself was absolutely unputdownable so make sure you clear your schedules before starting to read it!!

This is the second festive book I have read this year and I am tempted to put the tree up!! This book is an absolutely gorgeous read that is perfect to lift your spirits!! It is filled with romance, friendship, family, love and of course Christmas!! I love that the protagonist is an estate agent but it is shocking how competitive the industry is. The fact that Sophie has done her research into the industry shines through! There's nothing worse than having a book filled with errors as the author didn't do their research into the subject they are writing about. I absolutely adored Rowans friendship group 'The Girlfriend Group' which I will talk about later. However, I will say that the fact that they gave her an advent calender which she had to wait to open as her friends had taken the gifts out and replaced several of them with other heart filled and generous gifts. It is such a sweet and beautiful idea which I loved watching unfold. It is a unique storyline, I've never come across a book where someone is attracted to their delivery man/woman and that was something else I loved unfold before my eyes. This was a light hearted, easy read which made me laugh out loud and smile so many times I lost count. The ending is stunning as is the whole book. I would love to see this turned into a movie. I would be the first in the line to see it!!

The characters were all an eclectic mix and each one of them were realistic and strong. I was completely invested in them especially Rowan who I thought was a fantastic female role mode especially as a muml!!! My heart went out to her so many times watching her struggle as a single mum of a teen, watching everyone enjoying their Christmas plans and putting up with the chauvinistic pigs at work. Marty and Brett are absolute d|ckhe@ds who I would have loved to punch and her boss Julz wasn't any better!! How they treated Rowan and Kimberley was a disgrace, as well as being sexist and illegal and I loved Kimberley's comeback at the end!! You go girl!! Alex is absolutely lush, romantic and I just absolutely adored him. I definitely won't forget him in a hurry!! Shame my delivery men are nowhere near as decent!! 'The Girlfriend Club' which consisted of Rowan's absolutely amazing friends Kate, Naomi and Abbie made me green with envy. Such an amazing support group with such caring, loving and thoughtful friends that looked after each other and gave Rowan the best Christmas anyone could ask for, along with Alex. What I wouldn't give to have friends half as amazing as that!! These characters, well most of them, were one of the best group of people I've ever 'met' and they will stay with me for a long time!!

Make sure you read until the end to enjoy the first 2 chapters of another of Sophie's books 'Sorry Not Sorry'. I haven't read this myself but after reading the first two chapters it is definitely on my to read list ASAP as it looks like yet another amazing read!

A MASSIVE WELL DONE to Sophie on yet another HUGE success!!! I loved every page of your book and I cannot wait to read more past and future amazing books. This is exactly why you are on my top 3 favourite romcom authors list!! Here's to your next success 🥂!

Overall an unputdownable, unforgettable, stunning romcom that will put you in the festive spirit and have you staying up late at night to finish it.

Genres covered in this book include Women's Humourous Fiction, Romance Novel, Christmas Romantic Comedy, Humorous Fiction, Contemporary Romance, Humour, Romantic Comedy, and Domestic Fiction amongst others.

I would recommend this book to the fans of the above as well as fans of Sophie Kinsella, Bridget Jones, Bridesmaids movie, Emily Henry, Beth O’Leary and anyone looking for a absolutely stunning festive and heartwarming read!

394 pages.

This book is just 99p to purchase on kindle and £9.99 in paperback via Amazon which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!!

Rated 5 /5 (I LOVED it ) on Goodreads, Instagram, Amazon UK and Amazon US and on over 30 Facebook pages plus my blog on Facebook.

It took me a while (12 chapters) to actually get into this book. I wanted to see more of the romantic relationship between Alex & Rowan. But instead this book focused more on Rowan's struggles in life. Nowhere in the blurb, it is revealed that Rowan is a single mother and the appearance of Clara took me by surprise. I didn't like Rowan's ex Paul very much and I was glad when she gave her a piece of her mind. I also loved seeing the relationship development between Rowan & Clara. Alex was also a very good guy but sadly, I couldn't feel the romance at all. I also didn't care about any of the characters because I felt like I didn't know them enough. Though Rowan's friends Naomi, Kate and Abbi were great and always tried to lift her up and I loved their bond. The ending however was weirdly perfect with everything falling into place and Rowan & Alex confessing their feelings for each other. I just wish there was more focus on the romantic aspect in this book tbh.

the writing isn't good and the story is so boring 😭

i thought it'll be a fun Christmas rom-com when i requested this but the main characters barely interact half of the book(only 2 minutes a day when he delivers her package). heroine was a doormat even her daughter treats her poorly, i hated her and i don't like hero much either

first Christmas novel of the year and i'm so disappointed 😤

thanks to netgalley for the arc

While the premise was really cute and I think our heroine Rowan, a single mom, deserved a magical Christmas - I couldn’t find myself invested in the story. There was nothing wrong with it really, but it took too much time to my liking before anything happened.

I thought the changing relationship between Rowan and her teenage daughter, as well as her relationship with her ex were the most interesting developments in this story. Those struggles felt real.

Unfortunately, I didn’t feel the same excitement for the romance part of the story. It was really cool how Rowan’s group of girlfriends wanted to do something for her and set up this advent calendar, counting down to Christmas with a delivery per day. But it felt a bit repetitive and slowed down the story for me. In my heart I know these gestures were sweet and that Alex was a wonderful guy - and it’s a shame I wasn’t feeling it.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for sharing a digital ARC with me in exchange for a review.

Sophie Randal get A+ for the hilarious inner speech, Rowans self talk was so good. I actually said a lot myself when reading so I was laughing that my response would be the same.

4.5 out of 5 stars

It’s been a rough year for Rowan. It’s hard being alone for the holidays. Especially when your ex is getting remarried, you’re teen daughter is growing distant, and you’re stuck in a job that’s more thankless than anything else.

Its hard to get into the holiday spirit with so much to stress about, and her friends know it. So, they devise a plan to have an advent “present” be sent to her every day until Christmas. Each day, a new package arrived…and every day the same cute delivery man drops it off.

Oh, this was such a cute book! I absolutely loved it. Sophie Ranald created such a fun plot with well written and relatable characters! I couldn’t put it down! It was also so fun to see what Rowan’s friends were going to send her next.

Okay maybe it was a bit unrealistic that her friends could afford to send her all that stuff, but I don’t care! I loved how sweet and generous her friends were to her, especially when they knew she was struggling!

I just loved this whole book!

I really enjoyed this book. It is a heartfelt, feel good, put you in the Christmas spirit book. While this is a romance book, I really enjoyed that the things between Rowan and Alex didn’t feel rushed. Everything felt very natural, nothing was forced, and any obstacle also felt very nature. The heart of the book for me was the friendship between Rowan and her friends. They are the ones that made me smile. They made me want to be in their friendship circle. My favorite scene with them was the bathtub scene. It was so nice to read a book where the girlfriends are really friends that lift each other up, and genuinely care about the others. There were not hints of jealousy, even though Rowan had things a bit harder than the others. There was nothing but pure love between these friends, and it made the whole book.

I really enjoyed this book, it was the perfect balance of everything and I absolutely loved the advent calendar idea that Rowan's friends came up with for her, let alone watching how her feelings for Alex blossomed and grew in line with the daily parcels that he was dropping off. I was super impressed by how quickly her friends came up with and implemented this idea as it was so thoughtful and personal, even if there hadn't been a hunky delivery guy dropping off all the parcels!

And talking of Alex, I did really like him but we had quite a bit of mystery about who this other woman in his life was which kept me on my toes wondering what was going on and meaning that I couldn't fully agree with Ro's feelings at first. I went through a few theories before finally guessing the correct thing just before it was revealed but then I panicked that Rowan would get the wrong end of the stick and everything would go wrong.

The little treasure hunt was probably my favourite advent day, purely for the walking around the neighbours houses looking at their decorations and then ending with a light trail. As houses near me start putting up their decorations I love to go for a wander to see them all, wrapped up warm and then get home and have a big mug of hot chocolate so this has made me very excited for these upcoming evenings!

Overall this was just such a lovely book and I really enjoyed reading Ro and Alex's story, even Clara had her moments of being a delightful teen - even if these moments were quite sporadic, but the least said about Paul the better! I'd not read anything by Sophie Ranald before but I shall certainly be keeping my eyes out for more books by her in the future and will be browsing her backlist to!

This holiday romance book was a fun read that has me in the Christmas spirit three months in advance! Rowan is a single mom to Clara, a teen who can be very bratty one moment and sweet the next. Rowan works for a terrible boss, has been single for years, and is a bit down in the dumps going in to the holiday season. Her amazing best friends decide to do something special for her, and Clara begins to develop feelings for the delivery guy (Alex) bringing daily gifts from her friends.

There was a lot to like here! First off, there was plenty of holiday atmosphere. Talk of decorating the tree, shopping at extremely busy stores, and snowy weather. Rowan’s friends are fantastic and I adored the premise of the advent calendar gift to make their friend feel special. That gave me the warm fuzzies and I could feel Ro’s anticipation! I enjoyed seeing Rowan develop from a total doormat character to one unafraid to make a big move at work and to turn things down that aren’t right for her. I liked the growing friendship and attraction between Rowan and Alex too, of course! I was worried at one point that we were in for a big miscommunication trope but thankfully that wasn’t the case.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the eARC of this fun story in exchange for my honest feedback.

Rowan is a single mom to a moody teenager, her workplace is full of toxic masculinity, and she's spent a good part of the last decade getting over her ex-fiancé, who she's only recently stopped fooling around with now that he's found a new girlfriend.. The holidays are hard this year, as money is tight and her daughter will be spending Christmas with her dad, so Rowan feels less-than festive. However, her three best friends have organized something special for her this year - an advent calendar with a twist. They know she's too impatient for an actual advent calendar and would open it all at once, so they're sending her a package each day, and she's falling for the delivery man, Alex.

The beginning of this book started off a bit slow and lots of setting the scene, but it began to pick up about halfway through and I had a hard time putting it down! The main character was easy to feel for - being a single mom is tough, especially around the holidays, and especially when your job sucks as much as hers does. And her ex sounded like he sucked, so it made me sad she was hung up on him because she had that little self-worth. Alex was cute and had some chapters told from his POV, but I wish I got to hear more from him and get to know him better, a lot of his character was written a bit more mysteriously than Rowan's. I was also hoping for more Christmas magic, and there was some, but the book was more about the season of giving, friendship, and love than it was about Christmas.

2.5/5 ✨

Santa, Please Bring Me a Boyfriend is a very cute romantic comedy and a perfect read this coming Christmas. The story is about single mom Rowan, struggling to make ends meet with a job she barely enjoys in order to raise her daughter Clara. When she doesn't feel the Christmas spirit due to her circumstances, her friends arrange for her to receive a Christmas present everyday in December, like and advent calendar. Things get more interesting when the delivery guy, Alex, is quite attractive and delivers those Christmas trinkets everyday.

During the first part of the book, I thought of how sweet Rowan's friends are to arrange something special for her. They continuously remind her that she's free to do something for herself and no one else, that she can love herself also.

I love holiday romances and I was really excited for this one. The premise is great and creative, I love how Rowan‘s friends arrange an advent calendar for her where she gets one present each day to help her feel better about herself. I think this gift was amazing and I love the idea, but the rest of the book didn’t do much for me. The romance was a very slow burn, which made the first half of the book really slow and almost pointless to me. I couldn't get invested in the story.

Nothing gets me in the Christmas spirit (3 months in advance!) like a good Christmas romcom!
Rowan is a single mom who is decidedly in an unchristmassy spirit as she faces Christmas alone. Her ex is engaged, her daughter will be with him and his family for Christmas, and she works a terrible job. Her best friends decide to lift her spirits by surprising her with an incredible advent calendar full of surprises and adventures, each of which is delivered by Alex (cue love interest).

I loved the premise of this book, and felt Rowan’s anticipation of her surprises and her fleeting meetings with Alex throughout the story, and the beautiful Christmas imagery put my mind right there in the festive season. It is a verrryyy slow slow burn novel and took me a long time to get in to it. I admittedly initially considered not finishing it, but I was so glad I stuck it out! It came together really nicely, it just took a long time to get there for me.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC in exchange for my feedback!

Okay, I guess I was expecting like a teenager asking for a boyfriend or a woman in her early 20s asking for boyfriend because she lonely, but this wasn't that.

This was a woman in her late 30s (don't remember) who is having a really hard time. It being between the job she hate, her teenager acting out and a baby daddy who acts like an adult child (and is now getting married to his younger girlfriend). Her friends decided to cheer her up during the holidays with a very creative advent calendar that will be deliver by mail every single day. Of course the mail delivery guy is attractive and so this story begins.

I loved it, actually so much. I loved that these women bond was so strong that they made this advent calendar for her. How they pushed her lovingly to put herself out there. I loved the romance, even if it wasn't the main focus. I loved all the little bits of this book and it was perfect just around Christmas time.

This is the perfect Christmas romance for the season.

Rowan is a single mom who doesn’t want to spend another Christmas alone. Her friends come up with a advent calendar to help raise her spirits. The delivery driver is the same with a Scottish accent.

This book is a super slow burn but I loved it!! I loved reading a book about a couple in their mid thirties since it was way more relatable to me then a couple in their twenties. And Christmas in London!! I need to book a trip asap as it sounds amazing.

I was drawn into this story and loved the concept and the adventure Rowan went on not to just find love but to refined her self confidence she had lost after to split with her daughters dad.

I will be picking up more by this author.

I received a complimentary copy from Bookouture and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

This is a holiday romance perfect for fans of single parent romance . The book tells the story of Rowan who is a single mother trying to do her best for her teen daughter. If that isn't enough she has a terrible boss and cannot seem to find love even if she tried.. To give her a good Christmas her friends decide to give her gifts over several days and the icing on top is that the delivery guy (Alex) is just so perfect for her.. It's a heartwarming romance full of love, friendship, holiday cheer and of course romance. Read it and swoon!

Absolutely loved it, such a heart-warming, feel good festive romance. If advent calendars came in book form this would be it!

Let's talk Rowan for a while, she was lovely, such a realistic, relatable character and this was her journey of self rediscovery and allowing love back into her life. Alex on the other hand, he's the best book boyfriend ever and my question is, why don't we get delivery men like that where I live?

Beautifully written, well plotted and thoroughly enjoyable. I'm definitely going to be looking to read more from Ranald in the future.

Many thanks to Bookouture for my tour spot.

DNF 25%

I can't remember the last time I disliked a book's heroin this much. The entire first 20% of this book is Rowan complaining about every aspect of her life.

She also compares herself with every single woman. She comes in contact with her friends, her ex's new fiancé, even strangers, and then complains. Every woman is prettier and younger and wealthier and takes better vacations then her.

She hates her car and her job. Everyone at her job is out to get her.

Rowan continues to sleep with her ex-husband DESPITE THE FACT THAT HE'S IN A COMMITTED RELATIONSHIP.

I couldn't keep reading.

Rowan is not exactly up for Christmas. Her Ex has recently proposed to his girlfriend. Her daughter has become a two-face monster (aka teenager). She's nearly broke. And she's hoping for a break in her job any day now.

Then her friends send her an Advent Calendar that is just as enticing as the delivery man lugging it up to her 7th floor flat.

The next 24 days are going to be interesting.

I liked the MCs. I liked the plot and the story was well-written.

It's a wonderful Christmas story that makes you think that even the grinchest/scroogest of people can embrace the festive spirit (in this case with the help of her friends).

Thank you to Netgalley for a free copy in exchange for a fair review.

I love Sophie’s books and this was no different. A wonderfully festive read, lighthearted and easy to read.

It was a sweet story and I connected to Rowan and rooted for her from the start. It was relatable as the friend in a difficult situation and having the friendship group rally around her to help make a difficult time easier. Whether it is Rowan or one of her friends there’s someone to connect to. Meeting up with friends for a festive catch up and waiting for the delivery driver to knock is what we all do at this time of year but it was lovely to disconnect from that reality and live through Rowans. It also made me laugh which I always do with Sophie’s stories!

The relationship between Rowan and her teenager made me reminisce about my own teenage years and what I was like. There’s a character for everyone and all the festivities that are included it’s enough to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

The story was written really well and made me curl up with chocolate and enjoy the festivities without having to go out in the cold! The story just had the magic touch, I loved it!

If Sophie is the author you will never be disappointed she is 100% one of my favourite authors now! I definitely recommend this festive treat!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture.

Rowan a nearly 40 year old of one surely teenage daughter. Has the best friends ever, knowing Rowan is finding it hard to get into the Christmas spirit. They devise an advent Calendar where each day a new gift is delivery, what no one could count for was the blue eyed, tight arsed delivery driver.

This is a slow burn romance. What I loved most was the little snippets into Alex’s life, so many questions of who he was and what he was up too. I was rooting for him not being the bad guy which was hard when a certain female kept getting mentioned.

This book kept me laughing and agreeing with how hard life can be. Rowan’s ex and her daughters father was her biggest hurdle to climb over from him moving on and getting engaged. Rowan’s character grew as each page was turned, loved the everyday problems and the heights Rowans friends went to help her climb them .

Do I recommend this book, YES

Learning to love yourself and believing in your own strength and beauty is a tough concept for many. Rowen’s growth in this lighthearted holiday romance focuses on HER road to overcome this obstacle with the delight of an advent calendar that keeps the plot engaging and exciting - you eagerly await what the next day’s gift will bring as if it were you opening it! The added bonus of Alex is the touch of romance that won’t distract from the main post of this story. A fun, cute and cozy read just perfect for the holidays!

I really enjoyed this story. I loved the relationship with Ro and her friends, with her and her daughter, and with Alex. I even liked the work plot. It shows so much growth and character development. The relationship was sweet but very much a slow burn. This is a sweet rather than steamy story with much to recommend it.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this book!!

Santa, Please Bring Me a Boyfriend screamed Christmas romcom. Think Hallmark movie. Some parts absolutely gave off these vibes, but for the most part I felt the book fell a flat. I found all of the characters really annoying and under developed. The romance portion of the book felt awkward. The characters did not mesh well t0gether. I personally did not mesh with the writing of this book. I think it is safe to say this book was not for me by any means; however, it might be something you like.

I loved this sweet Christmas book! It was so cute, but the last chapter was so different from the rest of the book. It really threw me off! Why was all of the spice saved for the end?! Lol. I liked Rowan’s character, she was a great Mom. I loved this unexpected romance, it was perfect for the holiday season.

I truly enjoyed the story between Rowan & Alex. Their flirty interactions at the beginning were sweet and I loved the idea behind Rowan’s friends sending her random Christmas gifts to cheer her up. I loved the setting in London and reading the descriptions of the big city as residents get ready for Christmas. 🎄

This story was funny, romantic and heart warming!
