Fully Fed by This Book

I don't know about you,  but I've killed more vegetables than I've eaten from my garden.

I take that back. I didn't kill them. The weather did, or bugs got to them.

That's why hydroponics fascinates me so much. With a hydroponic garden,  you can control the process.

This book explains how hydroponics works. I didn't know why plants need oxygen,  for instance,  or how cheaply you can try it out (but how much you can sink into a hydroponic garden once you get the knack).

As I read the ample and clear theory,  I started chomping at the bit to get to how to put it into practice. Then I got to the step-by-step part of the book, and I could see it all falling together.

I almost felt as if I was reading a page-turner novel.

And the illustrations didn't just illuminate.  They inspired as I saw completed hydroponics gardens and how they were set up.

I'm very pleased with this book, and I think I'm going to read it at least two or three times to absorb it all. The writing style lends itself to rereading like that because it's well organized, encouraging, and friendly.

I recommend this book to anybody even just mildly curious about hydroponics. It could be a game changer.

Indoor or Outdoor Gardening Made Easy

Hydroponics is the way to go for gardening! Author explains in detail the ins and outs of hydroponics. I didn’t know it could be done outdoors and indoors. I was fascinated by the concept of a fish tank and fish excrement being used for nutrient rich water. Author goes on to explain about the variety of mediums that can be used for planting as well as germinating at home or cloning. I think the sand medium seemed the easiest to start out with before trying this fish tank idea I now have in my mind. There are a variety of ways of water delivery systems. There are different lighting options and wattages one can use. It is about what you are comfortable doing. There is step by step instruction to building a small scale hydroponics garden in the book. Harsh weather conditions make it difficult to grow healthy plants and this is rather simple and doable for anyone. I recommend this book for beginners and anyone who wants information.

Easy introductory steps.

This book was easy to follow. It did seem a bit repetitive at times and did not get into any yield estimates for particular crops done hydroponically vs. Traditional gardening. All in all was a good book and worth the read. I skipped through a few spots that were not anything I was looking for like commercial ventures.
