Two words pop in my mind—magnificent beast.
Ana's brand new hot sexy werewolves series is fabulous!!!! The wolf brothers are so friggin hot and drago wolf the cage fighting and male escort for hire is the essentially bad boy who has pleasured more women then he can count until he is hired by arianna's best friends to show her a good time. But the moment Drago see's and smells her scent he knows this is just more then just another hook up this could be his fated mate and that's the last thing he wants it needs. Arianna has no intention of sleeping with bad boy drago he's intense,big and way to good looking and theirs something too compelling with his eyes and voice. A Hell Ya! On the steamy scale!!! Arianna is one of the rich aristocratic residents of Darkwood Falls, a town which is highly insular, and where women are not permitted to date outsiders without the express permission of the town council. Since Arianna found her long-term boyfriend (the town’s major) cheating on her and broke things off, she hasn’t been with anyone else, so on her 30th birthday her closest friends hire Drago to be her birthday present. Drago uses cage fighting and his paid job of sleeping with women to alleviate the aggression of his wolf, none of the women mean anything more than sating his desires and easing his beast, but from the moment he sees Arianna he finds himself enthralled.
This is a pretty short read, and whilst the writing didn’t always flow well, overall it was a nice light steamy, one time read. Although not going to lie whilst some moments were hot, I didn’t find myself requiring a fan. That being said this book did make me curious enough to move on to the next book in the series.

It's obvious there will be setup for the next books with her friends and his. This is why I often only read the first book in series. Why read the next when you already know the MCs and who will end up with who...?

This was a tough read for me. The world for this series is quite complicated. It either needed to be longer or the world streamlined. Felt as facts were randomly being thrown out here and there in an “oh yeah I might should explain that” kind of way. Could not get a solid understanding of this one.
Not a fan of shifter smexiness that includes shifting during the love making ...... just doesn’t ring my bell.
Between the overly detailed to the point of being random and non flowing world build and the moderate beastiality this was a COULD NOT FINISH for me.

I have not read anything by Ana Calin before, but a stalker of her work I have now become.
You suddenly find yourself completely within the power of the wolf as you read this novel, this author has her writing abilities down to a fine art. I couldn’t put the book down even if I wanted to.
Fated Mates have been a popular theme throughout the shifter and Werewolf series from many different Author’s, and there are some superb books out there but I am going to say, this specific series is going to get a huge following as you become invested in the world of the Wolf Brothers and those of Darkwood Falls.
Supernatural creatures of different kinds are central to the dramatic action and suspense filled adventure’s you’re going to be taken into while meeting understanding and supporting those who have been waiting (both human and Werewolf) to find a life where they feel as though fate has suddenly aligned everything within their world. Now every character involved in and around this community has a chance to allow the fates to intervene as the knowledge and understanding of immortality and love opens their doors in a way they never believed possible.
I really don’t want to say to much except that you can feel the increasingly intense emotional and physical connection as Drago and Arianna meet. You cannot help but go to bat for these two independent and determined characters. You couldn’t ask for more in a paranormal romance, now I am waiting for bk 2 to come out, so if this is your genrè choice GRAB this today and get to know the brothers and their world.
Just on that note, I can see so much variety and possible spin offs from this series, the author could easily create independant developments within the world of characters from Darkwood Falls, taking us into another area that has yet to be discovered or revealed, but would definitely be one hell of a ride.

What an amazing new series by this fabulous writer. Arianna gets quite a birthday present that she didn’t expect. Her friends get her an escort and she doesn’t quite know what to do with that. Ready for more.

This was a different story and sets the stage for the Magnificent Beasts series, but I struggled to fully connect with the characters. First, for introducing the series, I expected the book to be longer than it was, and while I liked Ms. Calin's fascinating world-building, I simply felt detached from the main characters' lives. I did enjoy the j/p hero with his stalkerish tendencies, but I just couldn't grasp the heorine's blasé attitude toward his sexual profession .
I wish there was more description of the location early in the book, because at first I assumed it was in a European country but came to find out it was an isolated community in the United States near some mountains. I still don't have a feel for where it takes place exactly, but overall, I am intrigued enough to continue the series and read Nero's story in the next installment.

Magnificent sums it up!
Even though Arianna and Drago fall in love almost instantly it didn't bother me because it was explained why they did. I also like that Arianna didn't spend the whole book fighting against fate because nothing irritates me more than spending the whole book reading about why they can't fall in love just to do so at the very end. I recommend this story to anyone that likes paranormal romance, can't wait for the next one!!!!

2.5 ish stars. Honestly, there is a good story here with a complex supernatural world full of supernatural creatures. The problem was that the story was so fast paced that all of the world building and character depth, as well as explanations of the supernatural world and even the character's backstories just got lost in the way in exchange for a couple"fact dump" type explanations. To be fair the "fact dumps" were very interesting and did make the story cohesive but it still couldn't make up for the lack of connection to the characters that I had in such a short story. I really want to love it, it has great bones.. It just couldn't deliver. What it needed most was time for some character development and chemistry. While its obvious the MC and FMC have some insta mate thing going on which is explained well, they didn't have time to even get to know each other even a little. It was purely physical and I just never connected to them and their relationship. Not only did they not get to know each other but I really didn't get to know them either.. I honestly can't tell you hardly anything about either of our characters.. their likes and dislikes? hopes and dreams? goals? I got nothing here peeps...
Its just too short and rushed to really even sink into before its just over. I might try out book 2 to see if I can get a connection with the next characters in the story.. I'm hoping that now that the fact dumps are kind of out of the way that we can really get more depth and intense chemistry between whoever is up to bat..

Interesting new on mates
Arianna was one of the rich aristocratic residents of Darkwood Falls. The town is insular and no one is to date or marry outside of the community, and the aristocrats are to only marry other aristocrats. She caught her longtime boyfriend and mayor of the town cheating on her a year ago. She dumped him. Now she is celebrating her 30th birthday and her two friends got her a gigalo for a gift.
Dragon is a five hundred year old werewolf who fights in underground fights against serpent shifters. The serpents and their leader called The Reaper are responsible for killing his and his brothers' parents. He also does one night stands for money even though they are rich.
When they meet he realizes that he has imprinted on her as only fated mates can do. No werewolf has had a fated mate for hundreds of years. Drago's brother and Alpha, Nero, found out some interesting information about what the town was actually meant for.
Arianna's ex, Sullivan, decides that he wants her back and is causing trouble. The fact that he is from out of town is a big problem with the town's people. The serpents shifters also play a part in this couples' story.
I enjoyed the story but wanted more. I am looking forward to book two to find out what happens next . Looks like it is about Arianna's friend and Nero.

What do you get a girl who has everything for her birthday? A hot guy with no strings attached. Drago is a wolf, cage fighter and gigolo. He and his brothers fight sea serpents whereever they are. Arianna heads her father's medical research facility and hasn't had a man for a long while. Her last boyfriend was the town mayor and a cheater. Way beneath her standards in my opinion. Her friends being the wonderful gals they are, hired Drago for her on her birthday. Drago's always been the perfect one night of fun kinda guy, for a fee of course. So he is flustered when he finds himself craving Arianna. He's never know anyone to find their One, could he be the first? The town Arianna lives in has a deadly secret and controls who the women are permitted to date. She just wants to lead her own life, to date who she wants. When push comes to shove and the sea serpents come after Arianna, Drago will fight to save her. This book is exciting and tense with secrets all around. This was a great start to this new series.

This is the first book by this author that I have read and I will be reading more.
I enjoyed this quick read, but there were some details that just seemed superfluous to me. Like why does the h allegedly come from an abusive home, without any details of such abuse and when she clearly loves and respects her father... And it appears her father wanted what was best for her too.
It seems like this detail was only added to form some kind of connection between the H and h, which was not necessary and did not appear relevant to the rest of the story either. Weird.
Other than that, it was a decent story with descriptive language. Another first for me is the serpent shifter element.
It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger though so off to the next one I go.

Is he a beast or a man?
This is written stranger than most shifter stories. Drago is five hundred years old and doesn't know about his own shifter werewolf history until meeting Arianna, then talking to his alpha brother. At first he acts like a crude, huge out-of-control, cage fighting, wolfwhore, but then meets Arianna and 'Wham!' he's all sweetly devoted, caring, and civilized. Almost. Barely. If you have a problem with beastiality there is a couple of scenes where he's partially shifted while having sex with her because of his control issues. He shifts back immediately but she's very accepting right away which is a little jolting. Definitely insta-lust/love and a HFN ending. Cliffhanger? Not sure, is the evil bad guy gone or not? On the plus side- because a lot of the future info was left out, the plot kept me interested enough that I might get the next book about his alpha brother Nero. We'll see. ^~^

In this story there is not much delay before the "action" 😉. The hot scenes are never far away and are pretty good, as the author always gives us the female inner perspective and turmoil. As for the story, there is and interesting background story we are introduced in this first book. Still I found an unanswered thing in the plot, though I have no doubt that there will be a perfectly good reason delivered down the line.
I've read this book after reading all the Dracula's series, and the plot never disappointed. Here we are introduced in the same kind of world (same enemy at least) so I would love to see what will be their new mastermind plan (dommed to fail, eh eh).

Hmmm disappointing amateurish
It was ok at the beginning, I liked the 1st communication between Drago and his brother Nero, but then it kind of went downhill for me, Arianna describes Drago's wolf as a Lycan on two legs which I pictured like (Michael j fox - teen wolf) no thank you! What happened to four paws and a tail, it felt like it was trying really hard keep the interest peeked but yet it still failed slightly, and from what I read read of the second book it seems exactly that worse. Desperate. Thank heavens this book and the rest are free.

In one word: HOT!
Talk about falling in love at first sight. This took it to another level. Along with the level of heat coming from the pair. Want to be taken like an animal, well this story took it literally and it was hot as hell. Be prepared to feel like you’re hot as hell because this book is so steamy you’ll never want to finish it.

Really hot and dynamic story. Arianna is single, pissed on her ex and doesn't want anything with males for long time. But she gat really hot birthday present, hot and great in bed gigollo. She givew it a try and get more, than she expected and paid for. Drago doesn't believe fairy tale about werewolves mate, but when he is struck by lightning, he realises, that some fairytales are true.

Supernatural tale
Interesting story about love,control, friendships and werewolves.
Innocence lost and lust rewarded. A wonderful journey through Dark Falls is very worth the read. Waiting for June and next story in this tale.

I was so in lust with Drago that I couldn't wait to get back to my iPad! It's a fast moving sensual and sexual adventure with Drago (hmmmmm!) And Arianna. Ana Calling writes good descriptive narratives that kept me enticed. I was so excited to finish their adventures!

I was instantly drawn into the story, found the writing to be easy flowing and fun to read. Sometimes I laughed out loud, about the in my face descriptions, but at times it was worth a little bit of discomfort to get deeper into the story. Read all three so far, and I'm not into shifter stories.. 😁
