Love isn’t always simple. In fact, often it’s extremely complicated. Sometimes it’s taboo and you have to decide just how much you care what other people think. Noah and Kali fought temptation for years, but what happens when he finally sees her again? Will he be able to handle what happens when his best friend Levi decides he's tired of standing back from the forbidden Kali?

I do not think I've ever been more disappointed in a book...That ending was so predictable and made no sense to me. First of all, I usually love the asshole characters, but Noah was a giant piece of shit. He never even came close to redeeming himself, I HATED him, not in the 'I love you to hate you' kind of way either. Who in their right mind would ever want to be with that guy compared to Levi? I get it, she loved him her whole life, blah blah. But Levi was the sweetest, most amazing, best guy you could EVER ask for. He was amazing and everything you could want in a book boyfriend. I am so disappointed.
Wow! This was a great hot read. What do you do when the man you love, have loved for many years, suddenly sees you?.......or the man who has been your good friend, suddenly becomes more? Could you choose?! I sure as heck couldn't or wouldn't!!
Didn’t like Noah at all. He just came across as a self centered egotistical alphahole. It seemed he only wanted Kali once someone else did. I liked Levi way better. It was pretty fast read and predictable.
Noah's an asshole, in the irredeemable kind of way. Levi, on the other hand, is a sweetheart. 3 stars because Noah deserved 2 stars and Levi deserves 5.
Loved Taboo! If it's wrong then I don't want to be right!
A heartbreaking yet beautiful tale of unreciprocated young love, that finds a second chance has unfolded only to have more obstacles in their way .. societal taboos are only there if you allow others' versions of right and wrong and their judgmental attitudes rule you and your life. Do what makes you happy and the heck with everyone else.

This book was pretty good. I did like the characters but the story line had me skipping through some of it because it was a tad slow. Overall a pretty good read
I really liked Levi. He honestly had all the things I look for in a book boyfriend. He was sweet, protective, kind, and he CARED! He cared so hard for Kali, when he never expected to fall for a girl at all, let alone one he's known forever. He was definitely a manwhore when we first met him, but the moment his heart became invested in the time he spent with Kali, a switch turned on inside him and he realized that what he shared with her was worth more than any other one night stand he'd had. And the way he jumped to protect her. *swoon!* He was sexy, fun and lovable. I loved everything about him. Including his understanding of her situation with Noah.
Which leads me to Noah. No.. just .. NO! That man wasn't a man at all. He FINALLY comes to his senses after years of turning her away in painful and degrading ways, and ONLY because he realized he might actually lose her? Uggg.. tired and overdone. I love and I mean LOVE taboo, forbidden, out of the box romances. I thrive on them, so him being her somewhat-stepbrother didn't bother me at all. But Noah as a character? Yeah, he bugged me. As in, I didn't like him at all and couldn't find any redeeming qualities in him. He eventually grew a pair and realized he needed to be concerned about the danger Kali found herself in but he wasn't there for her like Levi. He was more interested in fighting his feelings. Then fighting his desire. Then fighting Levi to get into her pants. *insert eye roll here* We didn't get much about their childhood or their sister/brother relationship from the past, other than Kali's continual statements about him not being the same guy she once knew. However, if he was anything then, like he was when we, the reader, first met up with him, then I have no idea what Kali saw in him.
As for Kali, I really liked her honesty. She had two guys she cared a great deal for and she couldn't choose because she was getting something different she needed from each of them. She was honest about her feelings and didn't try to hide anything from either guy. She was pretty awesome in that department. However, I have to wonder about her judgement in guys. She gets on the radar of a psycho, likes a stepbrother who is a total ass and can't see the treasure that Levi is without wanting her forbidden fruit too? But whateves. She was fun and I liked her character a lot.
As for the story itself. It was lacking a lot of things. Emotion being the biggest thing. I wanted the author to dig deeper into each character so I could connect with them on a deeper level, but sadly that never happened for me. I liked Levi and Kali but I didn't connect with any of the characters. The writing felt a little choppy in places and some of the characters actions as well as some of their dialogue felt overdone. I love drama in my stories but some of the actions felt more childish than dramatic.
And that ending? Made no sense. I got no clue from any of the characters at any point in the story that they'd be okay with a threesome kind of relationship. Maybe if the author threw in Noah and Levi shared a girl sometimes or they didn't mind having threesomes in the past ... but that wasn't mentioned. In fact, they both seemed awfully jealous of the other one having any time at all with Kali and then in the end, these two alpha males are just fine with sharing her between them because it's better than losing her? I can't see that lasting long.
Real world feelings aside, it was hot and sexy to see them get to that ending, so that was pretty fun.
All in all, this one wasn't my favorite, though it had enough redeeming qualities for me to give it 2.5 stars.
So much potential here. The build up to the share was good. Both leading men had pros and cons. Noah was a bit harsh and without actual background of his role with Kali its hard to grasps the 'love' between the two. So she was his stepsister at age 8 and then she wasn't. They are in their 20's now. Need to fill in the gap of at least high school besides the QB cheating on her and a quick make out session in one paragraph. Noah's flagrant disregard of her at the party is over the top. Kali hiding in his room/closet and only coming to the party to check up on him after years of not interacting...weird. Levi, albeit a party boy and BF of Noah, doesn't help connect the dots even though he knows that Noah has had feelings for her all of these years but never acted on them... I liked Levi. Once he had Kali his whole outlook changed and he became a one-woman man, with every intent to take care of her. Nice. Noah just seems to see he missed the boat. The whole thing with the neighbor - what?! And then to leave us hanging when he shows up again at the end. Missing closure pieces as we never hear the exact story from Kali other than she may have slept with him once but what led to the insane stalking? Again, there is potential here to tighten the story. No extended epilogue needed for years into the future but maybe something more than - ok, moved back in, share a bed, and now Levi and Kali are working a party.
Instead of dwelling on the things that I didn't like. I am choosing to focus on what I did.
This is the first book that I can recall reading by Hilary Storm, but I will try her again. The emotions in this book were a living breathing thing on the page. I felt the confusion, frustrations, and love that Kali was going through and struggling with. I understood her wanting badly to just get away from both of the men instead of having to deal with possibly hurting someone, not realizing that she was hurting herself in the process. I felt Noah's struggle on rather to continue as he had been (a complete and utter jerk) or to what was truly in his heart to do. I felt Levi quickly, but steadily opening his heart to Kali.
Those men were persistent. The were both so different, but they each gave Kali something she needed. I honestly thought that I wasn't going to like Levi after getting Noah's pov from the beginning, but I actually ended up liking him the most. He gave her exactly what she needed right from the beginning, while Noah just wouldn't allow himself the option.
There's a lot going on with this book. Kali is love with her stepbrother and his best friend. The book starts off very rocky but as it progressed the writing improved. There was just way too much drama and unbelievable crap going on at the start. The guys are polar opposites which would work if Noah wasn't such an uncaring jerk. Levi is lovable, protective, and genuinely cares for Kali. Then the whole neighbor situation was not explored enough. However, as the book progressed the unnecessary drama cooled down a bit and the story began to focus more on the emotions of the characters. From the cover, I thought this book was going to be scorching but the love scenes were pretty repetitive and vanilla. There is menage but not as much as expected. I've read a lot of love triangle/and or menage so I've a lot to compare. Overall entertaining quick read but lacked the depth I was hoping for.
I have so many thoughts on this and this was my first Tik Tok made me read this. 1. The spice was there the plot not so much. 2. It seemed repetitive at times. 3. I get they aren’t blood related and this probably happens in real life but I still said ehhh sometimes. Noah grew up with Kali I don’t know it’s weird to me. (Yes I know it’s called Taboo for a reason) 4. I don’t like how this book was written. Calling girls whores all the time yet the men can do whatever and not be called anything 🤷🏻♀️. 5. In the end it just had the steamy factor going for it. Even the weird guy next door could have had a bigger storyline.
All in all this wasn’t my favorite it was my first from this author and I might give her another try.

I read this book via weekly emails from the author.
Kali has been in love with Noah since they were kids. Noah has fought his attraction just as long. Levi is Noah's best friend's brother. What do they have in common? They all are under one roof because of different circumstances and form the best trio. Levi and Noah show Kali how to love herself and love them at the same time. And who doesn't love a little taboo in life, right?
Be prepared for steamy sex scenes and with an underlying dying love and little bit of fighting along the way. Hilary knocked this one out of the park.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a little taboo and three-way.

What do you do when your in love with a man all your life and he wont give back that love? Then your in love with his roommate and gives you everything and more? Kali has known both of these men since growing up but just doesn't know who to choose. There is Noah who treats her like a big brother but not even related. Then there's Levi who has held back because he always thought Noah and Kali belong together but now he wants her to himself. You read "Taboo," by Hilary Storm to find out what happens.. Amazing story by a awesome author!
There was so much going on in this book. I think probably a bit too much, you get parts of a back story throughout but I found it a little confusing. Nate was a jerk like a huge jerk! And he didn't redeem himself at all, he just got away with it. Like he can treat people like dirt, be violent and everyone is like oh that's just the way he is... Levi was so sweet and such a great guy. Kali I'm not really sure how I feel about her. I think this story had real potential but just missed the mark.
I need men like this in my life. Peotective sexy...all consuming. He used to be her step brother but when their parents separated they only saw each other on occasion and she's always wanted Noah...Levi has always been there in the background but when Noah pushes her away Levi steps up and takes her...but when Noah sees her moving on he wants her too...to give in to what he always thought was wrong. But the they confuse her until they finally give in to what she needs.
I received this book as an email. I received each chapter weekly but didn't read it until I received the final chapter. It's a short non traditional love story. It's the story of Noah, his step sister Kali, and his best friend Levi. Noah and Kali have unresolved issues and Levi just wants Kali's happiness. The story had me hooked from the first chapter but it's not for everyone and that's okay. If you've read Hilary Storm before you're going to love this.
Noah is conflicted, he wants to do what he thinks is right by leaving his step sister alone. In reality all he wants to do is pound into her and that is what Kali wants too. His resistance breaks the minute his best friend Levi spends the night giving Kali what Noah won't. When he finally gives in to his desire it might be too late because Kali has feelings for Levi. After much confusion the guys decide to offer her a real taboo offer. This is a quick, very hot and good read.
This story got a little frustrating. The back in forth on who Kali wanted to be with, Levi or Noah, was annoying. I did like the story. I wished it have more of a plot about her neighbor. That was the reason she had to stay with the guys. If the story line had more to it then her wanting both of them. It would have made the book a little bit better.
I liked the characters and the chemistry was there for a great menage relationship but the way it came about didn't really work for me. There is so much angst and so much back and forth with Noah that when the guys decide that the triangle they have caused would be better for everyone as a menage that it just doesn't quite ring true and long term for me. I would call this more of a happy for now than a happy ever after.
Kali and Noah are ex-stepsiblings. They always felt this pull but it was off limits in all ways for Noah. Levi is Noah's best friend and roommate. Kali hasn't been around in years and now she's back to see if Noah has changed his mind. With the twist of Levi having feelings for Kali and Noah decided maybe he can go there with Kali. What Will happen when both men show they want Kali? Will Kali get the man she always loved? Or will she have a new love? Who will get a HEA?
I enjoyed it as a mindless escape. I grabbed it while it was free and the cover drew me in. While I had a list of other books I needed to read first I jumped right into this one. I was not disappointed in the least. BUT the reasoning behind it being only 3 stars is that it wasn't anything special. It wasn't bad, but it's not something that will stick with me for very long either. It was a pretty quick read, meaning I couldn't put it down until I finished.
What can I say? I loved it. It was angsty, sexy, and gave me a very happily ever after. Levi and Noah were written so well and so opposite each other. Kali was the confused girl in the middle who had just the right amount of 'should I or shouldn't I' with the menage relationship. I definitely found a new author to read!Hilary Storm
Noah Levi and Kali have known each other since high school but drifted apart ... Until Levi invites Kali to a party he's throwing at Noahs place... Instead of the welcome she was wanting Kali got a cold shoulder and the arms of an unexpected friend.... Great reading
If you want a book that will have you yelling at the characters, read this, you will love and hate them at the same time. Taboo is a perfect book curl up on the couch and read when you want to feel for someone who will drive you insane, but make you love them all the same. I highly recommend this book. Flove it!
Levi, Kali and Noah have known each other almost their entire lives. Noah has loved Kali, but tried to deny it. Kali has always loved Noah. When Noah pushes Kali away AGAIN, she ends up in Levi's arms and bed. He shows her how it should be when someone loves you and ends up falling for Kali himself. She can't choose one man over the other, but will she have to?
This book had an ok storyline, I just felt like the book could have gone into more depth with the neighbour and the chemistry between the characters could have been more raunchy especially with Karli’s point of view. I was disappointed with how predictable the ending was. I usually enjoy Hilary’s books but this one didn’t get me wrapped up in the storyline.
I wanted to like this book, but was disappointed that Levi was the first character Kali slept with. I believed the author when she told us of Kali great love for Noah. I'm disappointed Noah inability to express his feelings for Kali in living ways until she slept with Levi. I thought Kali and Noah was going to be the main Characters but he seem like a after thought in character development.
