"If you want to be a student at VIP College, get used to rubbing shoulders with royalty, rockstars and billionaires."

As a non-wealthy, non-celebrity scholarship recipient, VIP College freshman Aubrey is intent on joining the college's Literary Society. As a budding romance writer, she hopes to find a group of like-minded bookworms.

Instead, she is confronted with the VIP Lit executive committee:

Luka, the prince, elegant and refined. Has he ever dropped that genial smile and shown someone his true self?

Jaeson, the billionaire, handsome and alluring. With such a commanding presence, does he have a not-so-secret dominant side?

Riot, the rockstar, guarded and aloof. He writes such passionate lyrics, surely there must be more to him than his prickly exterior?

With the literary club in danger of being disbanded due to low readership, Aubrey’s anonymous romantic stories may be the only thing that can save them. There’s only one problem: Aubrey's experience with romance and love is limited, but her readers keep asking for more.

Can Luka, Jaeson and Riot help Aubrey find the inspiration she's yearning for?

Accepted is the first book in the VIP College Reverse Harem Romance series. A portion of this novel was originally published in the now out-of-print Royalty, Rockstars and Billionaires.

Aubrey Ellis is accepted to VIP College on a very exclusive scholarship. In the history of the literary College not many have ever been given out. It is a very elite school catering to the rich & famous. She is excited to be going to VIP College & immediately seeks out the VIP Lit Club. It is the campus club that produces the weekly college magazine. What Aubrey finds is a magazine in crisis & three very handsome men she calls The Golden Trio. The VIP Lit Club is in serious trouble & may be shut down by the college dean. After learning about the shut down threat, Aubrey offers to submit her romance novel she has been working on as long as the magazine publishes it anonymously. With the executive committee's (the Golden Trio) approval the first chapter is published. No one was prepared for the overwhelming positive response the story generates. Unfortunately, with every good turn a bad one or several seem to come. The story installments bring in the dean who believes that the story itself is a 'moral' clause breaker. So a fight to keep the magazine going becomes the focus for all involved. Meanwhile, Aubrey finds herself attracted to all three men of The Golden Trio & wants all of them. They admit their attraction to her & jockey to be the chosen best man for the job. But Aubrey has a few surprises of her own to share with the three men.

This was a departure from most of the Athena Wright books I've read (I am a junkie for her rock star series) & is co-authored with Vivi Clarke. I was pleasantly surprised by this duo, the writing was seamless & the story was good. If you enjoy a good love quad this is a great book to read & I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. This book is meant for mature readers.

I have to be honest and say that I wasn't expecting a lot from this book other than for it to be a quick and easy feel good read. I was actually wrong to pre judge it so quickly and pleasantly surprised at what a good story it had running through it.
I thought that it had a great story line with some good, in depth knowledge and research done. The characters weren't bland and one dimensional but were varied and interesting. I particularly like Riot as I think he's got a hidden heart of gold in there. The characters are some of the most important parts of a book and even the side characters had depth to them.
I did think it was a good read and more than I was obviously expecting at first. It's nice to be surprised and proved wrong in my initial assessment of a book. I'm definitely looking forward to reading book two when it's out.

This is an interesting read, but enjoyable. It felt more YA at first. Then the story started progressing and we get into the sex scenes. The characters are great, although I would have liked to have been in the men's mind just a couple times throughout the book.
Good story and am waiting for the next installment. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

Just didn't click with me

The connections between the characters seemed superficial at best, the whole premise of the book was odd and the "blackmail" plot was super thin and forced. The book just felt lacking.

I received a copy from the author, in exchange for an honest review.

Royalty, Rockstars & Billionaires: VIP College (Semester One) is not a horrible book. However, I didn't love it either. I personally think it's just an okay story that had a few significant problems.

Things I liked:
1) Aubrey's friends. They seriously rock and they were honestly there for her when she needed them the most.

2) I loved how it was split up into many mini stories. I thought that was really creative and unique.

3) I loved how there was someone sending Aubrey cryptic texts. It made the book intriguing and got me curious as to who the person was. I was also really happy when I found out who it was that it wasn't the person I predicted. Reminds me of Pretty Little Liars.

Problems I had with it:
1) I liked that Aubrey's story was included so that the readers could read what exactly what she writing. However, at the same time I also had big problems with it. For example, at the beginning of the novel I was legitimately confused why the story started off with Noah and Emma instead of Aubrey.

I do understand that Aubrey's story was in a different font from the actual story but it would have helped if it was noted that it was her story (like a title or something of that variety).

2) Lack of character development. I like Luka, Jaeson, and Riot but I truly wish that they could have all been developed more. All I honestly know about them is that Luka is a Prince, Jaeson is a billionare, and Riot is a rockstar that knows his way with words. I would have loved knowing their histories (where they came from, do they have a traumatic past or a good one, favorite activities, favorite food, dream and desires, etc.)

3) I wanted to yell at Aubrey at so many points in the story. I get that she's naive and wanted to gain inspiration for her writing but I just felt that she did so in the wrong way. Maybe if she knew the guys a little better I would have understood a tad more but since she didn't it made me cringe. I also hated that Aubrey just allowed the guys to do whatever they wanted. I honestly thought 'Aubrey don't you seriously have your own opinion".

Overall, I give this book 2.5 stars.

Ehhh I wanted to love this book....It ended up just ok.

I loved the synopsis and thought the VIP college for famous & rich people was a interesting & fresh new idea.

But...

Aubrey and her three guys are pretty Instalove.
They barely speak or have any interaction and are already doing sexual things together. She only goes on an actual date with one of the guys. She knows them for a a super short time and they are deciding to share her even without really having had a decent conversation with her.

I really don’t know how to feel about the guys. I didn’t love them cause I didn’t get to know them.
There wasn’t any depth to them. You don’t learn much about them except basic things like one a prince and is sweet but has another side (he’s the one you know the most).
One is a rock star who barely says anything or shows any emotion on his face and seems like a robot.
The last is a billionaire who is a dom.
That is about the gist of all you find out about them.
You find out nothing about their background, family, dreams, true personality’s, etc.
The only things they really talk about with the MC is her writing and needing help sexually. There is no substance.

The sex scene was like woah where did that come from. Riot had barely said anything to her in the few times they were around each other and then they are getting it on. She didn’t even know he liked her at all cause he barely said anything to her and his facial expression had never changed the times she saw him or talked to him.

And I was confused on whether she was a virgin or not. It was never mentioned either way.
Most of the time it seemed she was cause she was constantly going on in her head and to the guys about how she had no experience and couldn’t write about what she didn’t have experience with. But there were a few times where you thought maybe she had just been with one guy. But then she had sex and didn’t act like it was her first time. No talk about being a virgin, no blood or super bad pain.

Also she comes out and suggests her romance writing for the school magazine yet complains the whole time afterwards about not being able to write it and not having the experience needed to write it. Why offer to write something you know you can’t write?!?

There just wasn’t much depth to this book. Everything was very superficial and barely even scratched the surface.

I’m hoping book two is better and goes beyond the surface and has more depth.

This is First attempt of this autors in RH gener. It was Good one.
I had few issues: insta-love is a thing That should be only in books with Magic element; inexpiriencend MC That behaved Like she was folder and far more expirienced.
Guys were average as they seemed to be too similar in The end.
Not a reread book but a Good premise in RH gener.

Ladies, I'm super excited to introduce you to Accepted!!! It is well-known that I like to read a variety of different romantic stories. From sweet romance to explicit erotica, these are my guilty pleasure. Accepted fits perfectly to explicit erotica even if the topic is closer to New Adult genre. I still can't believe this unexpected writing turn of Athena's Wright yet I totally like and approve it!

So, let's make a small sum about what is going on in the story. I promise you not to reveal much. The synopsis of Accepted is crystal clear as for what is going to happen first in the story. Aubrey Ellis has to find the inspiration she so desperately needs, helping her write the continue of her anonymous romantic stories for VIP Lit magazine. The help comes from the three men who constitute the executive committee of VIP Lit; Luka (the Prince), Jaeson (the billionaire) and Riot (the rockstar). Each one of them is a different personality, each one of them has different tastes but they want the same pray, Aubrey.

As the story unfolds, the reader watch Aubrey's fight to control her inner fervor for both three men and at the same time to fit with the rest of the VIP College students. When both three men shown their interest to Aubrey, she got into a roller coaster full of desire, lust and forbidden passion with them. However, she was secretly breaking the rules and that was coming close to blow in her face.... Cliffhanger!!!

At first I was a bit sceptical while reading Accepted. However, the plot was interesting and refreshing! The authors joined their talents and created a beautiful, well written story that despite its explicit content it didn't felt provocative. They do a great job of encompassing mystery, suspense and hot sex scenes. Just like I loved the plot, I also loved the main heroes. I loved how intelligently the authors created each one's character, how naturally they connected to each other and how fierce this connection was. For me, Accepted is a forbidden, seductive, alluring story with the perfect dose of dominance. Will you handle reading it?

I hope I intrigued your imagination a little and make you grab the book, finding out what's really happening because there is no way to tell you myself.

Until next time, enjoy your free time reading great books with the most unforgettable stories.

The Golden Trio and The Scholarship Girl. Aubrey Ellis may be the only scholarship recipient in the history of VIP College. As the four-year editor-in-chief of her high school paper, she is determined to be the first freshman accepted into the school's Literary Society. What she doesn't realize when she joins is that the club is on the verge of being shut down due to a low interest in their journal by the student body. Aubrey takes a chance and offers up an idea to the Club's Executive Board; Luca, a real-life prince, Jaeson, the son of a business mogul, and Riot, a rock star. Aubrey spent the summer dabbling in the romance genre and she offers the story up as a serial for the journal. When the men accept, Aubrey, under a pseudonym becomes a published author and the journal garners more viewers than it's had in over a year. Her story is a viral success. It also causes campus drama and once again the club is in danger of being closed down. Plus, writing romance is hard when you don't have any experience. Lucky for Aubrey, Luca, Jaeson, and Riot all offer to be her 'inspiration'. In less than one month on campus, Aubrey has caused quite a stir and attracted the attention of someone who wants her gone. She starts receiving threats. She's found success with her writing, she's developed feelings for all three men but her time at VIP College may not last.

This is an unusual RH. Aubrey was a typical lead female; smart, pretty, talented, focused. However, I didn't know exactly how to take the guys. I wasn't sure of their feelings or true intentions for most of the book. Were they seriously taken with Aubrey, were they more invested in their journal and quickly realized she was the key to its success, was she a competition or maybe all of the above. The final scene in the book went a long way towards reassuring me. I really would have liked more insight into the guy's viewpoints throughout the book. I loved the scenes between the three of them. Having said this, the chemistry between each guy and Aubrey was intense. Romantic, risky Luca, Domineering Jaeson, and passionate Riot. Yum. I admit, I generally don't pick favorites (or try not to) but I love Riot. I want more.

This was a solid start to a new series. I loved the idea of a college of "celebrities". The rich and famous; it's a fun backdrop. I look forward to book two. I hope that it's longer and goes into more detail. I want more time with Aubrey and the guys, individually and as a group. I want more scenes with the guys talking, a history of their friendship, more insight into each man. I look forward to more time at VIP College!

Boy do I want to go back to school.... This book keeps your attention, that's for sure. I love that Aubrey has such a strong personality that she actually speaks up for her ideas/desires. And I love that the author doesn't tease us with a weak "oh should I, shouldn't I " character but actually delivers and *smirk* satisfies us by following through. That being said, as an older reader, I tried to ignore that the characters, Luka, Jaeson & Riot, were in college - they seemed too "mature" for the setting. (I really don't recall there being such sexy, competent, mature, panty melting...ahem... hotties in my school:) If you have read the Darkest Days Series by Athena Wright, you will be more than happy with this book. Don't let the cover fool you into thinking this is a YA book. And though there IS somewhat of a cliffhanger, please don't let this stop you from reading this. For me, Accepted (VIP College #1) is an insta-click.

I totally enjoyed this book, the writing, the characters, and the whole premise. I didn't realize it was going to be a "cliffhanger" when I started, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. And I put cliffhanger in quotes, because it wasn't a typical cliffhanger; things definitely weren't resolved, but it wasn't like everybody was left in terrible peril. Since I'm not a fan of duets or cliffhangers, I liked this way of dealing with it much better.

I loved the heroine and all three heroes. They were very different men, which was interesting and exciting as a reader. Easy to tell them apart, true characters and not just different versions of the same guy. They were all hot, and I can't wait for a (hoped for) scene of all of them together!

It was a fun, fairly quick read, and I can't wait for more.

What a great book by Athena Wright!! The story was extremely entertaining and sexy as hell. The characters were written in such detail that they were easily visualized and so I could hear them talking as I read. I always feel as if I am a part of the story and that I am there watching what's going on while I read her books. For me, this is what make’s a book great. That’s why I love Athena Wright’s writing so much. She writes all her books like this without fail. Her writing never ceases to amaze me. You will not be able to put this book down. This is a MUST READ book. I cannot wait to see what is to come of this series.

Mini-Review:

I read the blurb and had to see if I was right. Yup. This story is like a nerd fantasy. It starts off well enough but dives into lala land when sex starts. I'll probably read the next one just for grins, eyerolls and giggles. It's high drama NA romance with mildly interesting characters. I'm not sure why there has to be a 'threat' tossed into the wobbly mix.

This book was a great start to an interesting RH series! I absolutely love the boys and can’t wait to see how their relationship with Aubrey progresses. Aubrey is a bookworm & aspiring romance author and she has a great personality that is so personable. And the scenes with her boys? HOT! It’s great to have a book that has steamy scenes as well as a captivating storyline. There are some unresolved problems in this book which will leave you waiting for the next one to see how everything plays out! Great read!

There was something about the environment of this college that really reminded me of some of the anime series that started the anime trend. Every character has a distinct persona, the smooth prince, the bad boy rockstar, and the powerful Future CEO. That being said, this was fun and hot and I would like be to see more of this fun romance!

This book was compilation of Royalty, Rockstars & Billionaires: VIP College #1 Royalty, Rockstars & Billionaires: VIP College #2 Royalty, Rockstars & Billionaires: VIP College #3 Royalty, Rockstars & Billionaires: VIP College #4 Royalty, Rockstars & Billionaires and The Reunion: Emma & Noah #1, a VIP College Side Story.
Each book individually was hot and pulled you in so that you wanted to jump right to the next book, so if you are like me you will LOVE this book because it is the entire serial and the reunion book all together.

Aubrey was a sweet and innocent girl that worked hard and received a scholarship to attend VIP College where Royalty, Billionaires, and Rock stars, attended. Aubrey joins the VIP Literary Society and writes Erotica for the school magazine. Lots of controversy arise when the school decides it wants to close down the Literary Society because it has poor readership and then when the Erotica stories become a hit they want to shut it down because of it violates the school code of conduct. Jaeson, Riot, and Luka all take a interest in helping Aubrey with her stories when she gets writers block, these are three very HOT guys and one very Lucky girl!

This book contains sexual scenes that include, M/F, M/F/M, M/F/M/M along with some light BDSM (impact play, light bondage, and some D/s)

+1 star for the naive freshman + 3 upperclassmen concept
-1 star for the disjointed, muddled, and nonsensical "plot"
-1 star for the absurdity of the "blackmail" plot thread
+2 stars for the heat in some steamy scenes
-1 star for how abrupt they were in the context of the story
-1 star for the idiot name (VIP College? Really?)
+2 more stars for how steamy some scenes were
-1 star for a prince, billionaire, and rockstar...STUDENTS

Awww, hell. My math is irrelevant here. It was terribly written and quite absurd, but it handled the romantic tension nicely and there were some hot scenes. I can't quite bring myself to 1 star it, despite the math above. So 2 stars. Maybe.

But it really wasn't good. So why am I reading book 2? LOL *shrug*

Accepted was the perfect start to this series! It was my first foray into the world of reverse harem and I have to tell you, Athena made it an exceptional experience. I wasn't sure what to expect, but once I began reading Aubrey's story and meeting the three men in her life, I was both intrigued and hanging on to every word.

I think I made it about 50% through this book before I was ready to give up, however, pure stubbornness from the hours I had already wasted made me continue right to the end. Sitting back and thinking about it, I find it hard to pinpoint exactly what it is that makes this book so cringe worthy… maybe it’s the utter lack of depth, lack of personality, lack of progress and growth, I’m not sure which reason to go with. What I am sure about is, that this seems very much like a rough draft that shouldn’t have been published yet!

description

Plot: A girl gets a free scholarship ride into the world of the rich and famous, and she starts writing a romantic novel (anonymously) for the school paper, in order to gain more readers and thus, save them all (how very fairy tale ish). Upon working on the paper she’s introduced to the billionaire kid, the prince and the rock star and thanks to instant chemistry they all 3 want her, and she wants them too. Upon interacting with each different guy she gains more experience in the world of romance which she can adjust and use for her story.

description

Personally I feel that this girl is a joke to women everywhere! No, I’m not some hard core or semi core feminist, but when you get into an elite school but know literally NOTHING about pop culture, real life or it’s students, that’s just a bit hard to sell. On top of that, that would then also mean that she was only accepted due to either her looks or her writing. I’m sorry but show me an elite school anywhere, that allows you to focus only on one thing. The US elite universities (Harvard, Yale etc.) all require you have back up plans and a very broad knowledge of different things, same with Cambridge and Oxford in the UK. Yet, here we have a girl that writes about what she doesn’t know, and doesn’t know who “Dylan” is when music references are made. I’m sorry, but that just reeks of bad writing and imagination. But wait, it gets better. So the 3 powerful boys all stand in line to be the one to inspire her for her story, and when our bad-boy rock star decides to give her a private lesson in the art of articulation, she doesn’t know the word “c***” until she reads it in an erotic classic – yet, with his fingers buried between her legs she all of a sudden knows a lot of things.

description

Maybe it would create better personality flow, progress and personal growth to have had chapters from the guys POV. That way it wouldn’t just seem like she’s going from one guy in one room, to the next in the other room. But all we hear is they’re interested and want to inspire her. Why? Is she stunningly beautiful? Is she shy? What makes them tick? What got their interest? How’s the chemistry?

description

I could continue for days, but instead I’ll leave what very much seems like a teenage girls diary and move on to more solid books and plots!

Athena’s writing is impeccable, as always, and there are no distractions from errors or confusion. The story itself is innovative and different. It has a young adult suspense soapy tv show quality to it (Veronica Mars maybe) but with much more superlicous steam – I’m not doing it justice but…. If you’re looking for her normal angsty bad boy rockers, this isn’t it. It’s different and it’s good in its own right! Though Aubrey is inexperienced, once we get the steam it is wow!!! The relationships and teasing start quickly but it takes a minute to get to the actual action. The characters are different and we’re definitely left with wanting to know more about them and their world. The MFC Aubrey is at times meek and innocence yet strong and honest when needed. She’s overwhelmed and unsure of this new world and it comes across in many ways. I’m hoping she comes into herself a little more as the story progresses. I love that the guys are the very stereotype of alpha male romance in an overtly blatant way. Luka, prince, Jaeson, the billionaire, and Riot, the rockstar, are what we expect them to be. I can’t wait to watch who they are become more apparent and see these stereotypes shattered. I loved the interaction between the three of them and individually with Aubrey. This is not a standalone and setting up and establishing relationships and characters along with establishing the basic storyline are needed. I feel Athena did a good job of doing this with this book. Knowing her evil creative writing genius, we have much to get excited about, going forward. I’m beyond excited for the next book and to see what our Aubrey and her boys find and how they evolve individually and together. Overall a great read with the promise of much much more!

*Let me start out with I love Athena Wright’s writing. I’m pretty sure I’ve read most, if not all, things available that she’s written. That being said, I wasn’t sure I loved this book the first read, though I really liked and enjoyed it. After a second read, I found I was definitely ready to go steady and anticipate love shortly after the beginning of the next installment. I learned a lesson in remembering to allow each book to be about that book and not a comparison to the author’s previous work or any other books for that matter. Stepping back and reminding myself this is not a stand-alone and therefore can not be judged as one changed my perspective considerably.

I requested and received an arc copy of this book. This is my voluntary, honest, and true opinion.
