Before this week I was unaware of Morley Baer even though he was a contemporary of some of California's most famous photographers and later a member of Group f.64. After a quick intro from what I could find on the internet I ordered his "Light Years" and I love it. It's typical of much of the Bay Area landscape photographers and maybe that's what I appreciate the most. All B&W, no grandiose, sweeping, heroic landscapes; just simple, uncluttered beauty. An art book as much as it is a photography book.
