He’s a good cop, but a very BAD BOY.

When gorgeous Officer Carlisle pulled me over for speeding, I told him how sorry I was. That didn’t stop him from telling me to step out of the car for a full body search so he could check me for offensive weapons.

I wanted to ask him if a hungry kitty constituted an offensive weapon, because damn, mine just wanted to eat him all up!

Those eyes should have been enough to get him arrested, forget those cheekbones and delicious full lips that stayed serious, even when I was sassing him.

And his hands. When he ran those rough palms against my thighs, I actually moaned.

Then he pulled out his handcuffs and...

Okay, that last bit only happened in my fantasies later that night, and pretty much every night since Officer Carlisle told me what a bad girl I was. I thought I was never going to see him again, then Mom tells me she’s getting engaged to her boyfriend and you guessed it, Officer Carlisle just happens to be my sexy new stepbrother!

That should make me think twice about being a naughty girl, shouldn’t it? Except, now my past is coming back to haunt me and Officer Carlisle might just be the only man who can turn this bad girl good.

Officer Carlisle knows exactly how to use his equipment. Read on if you like your cops a whole lot dirty in the bedroom!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review, and here it is: 4 stars.

This is not the first novella I've read by Ms. Brother, and it shows a vast improvement in both style, grammar and plotting than the previous title I'd read.

Arrested is an erotic romantic suspense novella, and it deals with topics that some may take issue with, domestic abuse, stalking, BDSM, role play, abduction and the use of restraints, so it's definitely for the 18+ reader.

The heroine, Allyson, is a sexually adventurous college student, who, when we first meet her, is speeding away from her ex-boyfriend, Drew, when she's pulled over by the very hunky Officer Carlisle, with whom she attempts a flirtation as a means of avoiding a speeding ticket, and he lets her off with just a warning. By the time she returns home, she's already spinning explicit sexual fantasies about the handsome officer, just as he's doing in his own bed.

The next morning, Allyson meets her mother for coffee at a local mall, when her mother tells her that the man she's been dating, Jeff, a police Captain, has proposed marriage and that she's accepted. Although we never learn anything about Allyson's father, a missed opportunity in my opinion, Allyson is happy for her mother and looking forward to meeting Jeff's son at dinner the following evening. Allyson has always wanted a sibling, and when we learn that Jeff's son, Cory, is also a police officer, it's easy to see where this is heading. When they do officially meet the next night, the heat between them is palpable, and they soon act upon it. We learn too that BDSM is a mutual preference, and that's were some of the suspense part of the story kicks in.

Allyson has been having a problem with her ex-boyfriend, Drew, with whom she'd shared similar sexual acts, but Drew had become extremely possessive and controlling and Allyson dumped him. Drew hasn't taken the break-up well, and when the police are called to break up a rowdy campus party, Cory is one of the officers on the scene and witnesses Drew attempting to force Allyson upstairs against her will. Drew apparently also has photos and video of some of the acts he and Allyson engaged in and has been threatening to upload them on-line if she doesn't come back to him, something that will no doubt end Allyson's dreams of ever having a teaching career. She's so embarrassed by this that she never shares the information with Cory, and when she suddenly disappears from her dorm room, with the room in disarray, it's obvious that she's been abducted the chase is on.

I liked the relationship between Cory and Allyson, but I wish the author had turned this into a full-length novel. I'd have liked to know more about Allyson and Corey's history, and why both are so attracted to the BDSM lifestyle. In Allyson's case, it's alluded to and then abandoned. Additionally, it would have improved and strengthened this novella to show some relationship building between the two main characters beyond just their sexual attraction. The suspense of the abduction worked for me, and I hope it also serves as a cautionary tale to those in their late teens and early twenties who see nothing wrong with taking and posting these types of photos and videos on social media. I wish the author had explained, perhaps in an afterword, that cyber-crimes, such as the one depicted in this novella, are becoming increasingly common and dangerous.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion or the content of my review.

I want to know where I can get myself one hot, good man but bad boy like Officer Drew Carlisle????? Yummy!

Officer Drew Carlisle was on duty responding to the call about a car speeding. What he did not realize at the moment he was pulling over this car that was going very fast, was how this was going to change his life. He gets to the car window and asks for id and registration - all very routine, right? Well maybe....this young lady behind the wheel has the face and eyes of someone who is scared and/or drunk, maybe both. He proceeds with his job as this girl flirts. She thinks this will help, what does Officer Carlisle do? Warning ticket. Something is off, but what? He can't quite put his finger on it ----- yet!

Allyson is running scared, her ex-boyfriend has threatened her. What kind of threats is he making? Why is he not just leaving her alone? They were both unhappy, or at least she believes this to be the case. Now the ex (who is an ass plain and simple) has something on her. He is threatening her with this. What is it that he wants? She does everything she knows to do to diffuse this volatile situation with no luck.

There is a college house party and the typical loud music, booze, and the ex.....of course things are going fantastically smooth for poor Allyson. She is trying to keep herself from his threats becoming a reality. Police were called to the party to break it up, and who is one of the officers on duty and at the raid??.... yes you guessed it, Allyson's Officer Carlisle.

A little spoiler here, Allyson's mom has met someone whom she has fallen in love with and wishes for Allyson to meet him, did someone mention he has a son? Yes and both of these men are police officers. Allyson is not really wanting to meet them, but loves her mom very much and wants nothing more than her to be happy. So she goes to this restaurant for the "family" get together. Surprises happen....what kind of fun and excitement happens and a meeting of two families coming together?? A lot and all very delicious things begin there and move forward.

This book is light-hearted at times, at other times a little tense, and a whole lot of chemistry between Officer Drew Carlisle (the hot cop and he knows how to use it) and Allyson (the speeder who flirts herself out of a ticket and into his sites) You really need to read this book to find out the delicious details that transpire between these two....you will not be able to put this book down. LOVE this book.

A hot good cop/step-brother romance!!

This not the first book I've read by Ms Brother's but I would have to say Officer Carlisle is definitely one of my favorite heroes/bad boys. I also liked Allyson's mother who is not a typically portrayed b****, but a mother who is so caring and not judgemental.

Allyson, is a sexually adventurous college student, who, when we first meet her, is speeding away from her ex-boyfriend, Drew, when she's pulled over by the very hunky Officer Carlisle, with whom she attempts a flirtation as a means of avoiding a speeding ticket, and he lets her off with just a warning. By the time she returns home, she's already spinning explicit sexual fantasies about the handsome officer.

Officer Carlisle is the sweet, yet very alpha male cop. He has just pulled over a woman for speeding, though lets her off with a warning because he can see she’s running from something. He finds her attractive, and wonders when he will see her again. He is surprised when he sees her in the parking lot at a restaurant and even more surprised when she sits at his table with his dad and he realizes that she is his new stepsister. It doesn’t stop him from kissing her near the bathroom or him wanting to help her with her troubles

This story follows through with Allyson's troubles with her ex-boyfriend who just can not take a clue and thinks she is just playing her role and really means the opposite of what she says. He threatens her with exposing revealing photos of their BSDM play to everyone she knows (and those she doesn't know) if she doesn't get back together with him. Allyson is so embarrassed and does not feel that she has anyone to help her, not even her mother or best friend. That is until she meets Officer Carlisle/soon-to-be-step-brother Cory, but when she calls him for assistance, and is waiting for him to come over, she half chickens out and states the issue is about a friend.

What will happen with her mother's happiness, her budding "friendship" with Officer Carlisle and the career of her dreams if her ex's threats come to fruition? What will happen to our hero and heroine? As I said, I love Officer Carlisle's characterization, though I wouldn't really say he is a bad boy.

I would recommend this story to any one who loves a good step- brother romance where the issues do not come from within the family.

College student Allyson is pulled over for speeding as she escapes a party where her ex-boyfriend was harassing her. The young hunk of a police officer who stops Allyson does a search and the two can’t stop thinking about one another following the incident. The officer doesn’t ticket Allyson because he senses she was trying to escape someone or something. Within the week, lo and behold, it turns out that Allyson’s mother is newly engaged – to the cop’s dad! Imagine that. The promise that the two will soon be related by marriage doesn’t quell their mutual attraction, however, and when Allyson’s ex-boyfriend threatens to distribute promiscuous pictures he took while they were going out, she realizes that Officer Carlisle may be her only option for help. When he stops by after work to follow up on her call to him to discuss what’s been happening, one thing leads to another, and…. This book touches on the issue of domestic violence in the college co-ed community. Allyson’s ex-boyfriend refuses to let her go after she wants to break up. What started out as angry behavior and jealousy – and the distribution of the pictures – escalates into a kidnapping.

The cons (or ‘huh?’ parts) for me in this story were the numerous editorial-type errors and the assumptive jump from seeing the handcuffs in the drawer to knowing exactly how to act out the intimate role play scene during the couple’s first sexual encounter (maybe there’s a BDSM manual?)…their chemistry was easy to ascertain, but it seemed easier to embrace that Cory (Officer Carlisle) was indeed a sweet guy deep down from an earlier point in the story than it was for me to assume the same for Allyson. (For me, I started to like her more once the scenes came about with her mom at the dress store and eventual follow-ups at the police station.) I may have wanted the HEA to be a bit more developed since it seemed pretty boom-bam and that’s that. This couple clicks and a bit more relationship-developing would have deepened the story, but then probably this wasn’t meant to be a story to overthink (at least not their personal relationship). I did think the storyline was believable and the author did a good job of broaching the issue of dating violence, Cory was a very likable character (and steamy and dreamy) and that he didn’t automatically judge Allyson for the indiscretion with the pictures was laudable.

Cory and Allyson!
Cory is a cop. And Allyson is well, the damsel in distress. Not really but it seems like it. Her exboyfriend is the WAYBEYOND controlling type and he still wants to be with her so things go to the extreme when it comes to Drew [her ex]
Cory is the sweet, alpha male cop. He has a pair of handcuffs and he knows how to use it. [sorry] yeah no im really not] But anywho, he meets Allyson when she leaves a frat party and shes speeding so he pulls her over of course, Things are funny at this scene. This scene could really be a book its self, or well a fun short story anyways<3
Allyson, is like i said, the woman who is trying to get away from her controlling ex. He has some leverage on her during a 'weak moment' in her life. So things are a little hard to 'stay away'. but ever since she got pulled over by the hot officer she can not stop thinking about him, she starts having fantasies and well, things are tough to forger. And then one night she goes to dinner with her mother to meet her future stepfather, and guess who shows up as his son, youve guessed it, Cory.
What happens after that dinner?! I mean its the first time they've seen each other since that night she was speeding, flirting, weapon search. So yeah it gets busy in that scene [my favorite scene in the book!]
So this book, its different. it is a fast read. It gets your attention from the beginning and well, you're hooked in the book until you finish it.
It ended much sooner than i thought it would be [didnt expect it to come with another book] so when i did reach the epilogue, i was a little disappointed but thats only because i couldnt prepare myself 'hey the book is about to end' ritual.
So. would i reread this book?! thats really a maybe, kinda yes, kinda no. The way it ended was great, it left me with wanting more of the characters.
Do i recommend this book?! I say yes. there is a kidnapping scene in this book. but its not over the top. Its doable thou.
I recieved a copy of this book for my honest review!!!

allyson is speeding to get home, trying to escape her troubles. when she gets pulled over she can't help the butterflies that start wreaking havoc in her tummy when officer carlisle tells her to step outside and assume the position. his search is thorough and to the point. deep down she hoped he'd do a more in depth search!
luck was on her side because he let her go with just a verbal warning.
now imagine her surprise when her mother calls her up the day after asking to meet up for dinner, that she has some news to share. even bigger is her surprise when she meets officer carlisle outside of the restaurant, the shock is even bigger when it turns out her mothers new fiancé is officers carlisle father.
the feelings that were growing inside of her were now completely forbidden, not with their parents being together.
but real life has a bad habit of making bad things turn out even badder, or hotter?
alyson is having trouble with her ex boyfriend, drew, who's tring to win her back, he'll result to anything from hurting to blackmailing her and eventually even kidnapping her.
by then her relations with cory carlisle has changed big time too and cory is doing everything he can to rescue her!

thrilling on so many levels, good and bad! the sizzles between cory and alyson are electrifying! the drama following alyson is all to real and nobody should ever be in such a position! this was a ride filled with danger, lust , fear and love. if you like complicated romances with a hard edge this is one to pick up and add to your list

While I love a good stepbrother romance, when you make the stepbrother a cop, I love it much more. Our H is Cory Carlisle, a hot cop. Our h is Allyson, a college student having trouble with an ex.

Allyson is running, or really speeding, away from her ex when she is pulled over by Officer Carlisle. There is some definite flirting from Allyson to avoid a ticket and when she gets home her fantasies are all about Officer Carlisle. Allyson meets her mom for coffee the next day and learns she is getting married to the Police Captain, Jeff, that she has been dating. Allyson and her mom make plans to have dinner with Jeff and his son, Cory for everyone to get to know each other. When Allyson sees Officer Carlisle in the parking lot, the sparks are shooting, until she gets inside and realizes that hottie Officer Carlisle is her new step brother.

I don't want to give anything away but I really enjoyed this book. The bdsm and problems with Allyson's ex kept me on the edge of my seat. Of course, I love love loved Officer Cory Carlisle.

I have been pulled over for speeding, but unfortunately, not by Officer Carlisle, or anyone even close. I knew that the book would be a sexy read, but the further I read, I began to realize that it is much more than that. This book also is a well written suspenseful, romance. I was also impressed with the way Stephanie Brother handled a topic that is happening more and more with the Internet and social media, boyfriends taking naked pictures and/or videos of their girlfriends and then releasing then out on the Internet when they breakup. She also puts out there and does a great job of abuse, obsession, sexual roleplay, and love, and does so through a well written book, that is also steamy, hot when Officer Carlisle and Allyson get together. I received this book from the author in return for an honest review, and I really loved reading it.

Cory and Allyson meet when he pulls her over for a routine traffic stop. There is instant attraction but she is confused and panicked by the actions of an ex boyfriend. To make matters more complicated, Allyson learns the hunky cop is going to be her new step brother. Beautiful plot with interesting challenges. Aside from the forbidden but strong pull to each other, there is the delusional state of the ex and his actions for control that triggers deep, personal self evaluation. Very entertaining in how it all played out with passion, excitement, mystery and suspense. I was given an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review. Well written. Five stars.

This was a well written , hot, sexy, suspenseful, strong female lead, even stronger alpha male. I enjoyed they didn't get hung up on the whole step-siblings thing. It was like , well we are going to be but......we aren't right now.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my review.

While I'm not one for a lot of kinky sex, I found this romance to be well-written in terms of both plot line & grammar. The story held my attention from the first page on to the end. I read the entire thing in a few hours. The suspense was well-coordinated into the story and didn't feel too rushed or overdone.

I'm definitely keeping Stephanie Brother on my list!

A totally thrilling story. I really got into the cop fantasy. I have a weakness for men in uniform, so this book was everything that I love. Allyson and Corey were an exciting couple, as well as step siblings (another weakness of mine). I could not get enough of these 2 and cannot wait for the next captivating read by this author

I think that this might just be one of my favourite Stephanie Brothers story. Cory & Allyson. Cop & college student. Both appreciate a slightly kinky sex play. They meet & it's sexy, passionate, then they find out they are going to be related. As always a great plot twisted with passion, intrigue and reader satisfaction.

Wow

This story was sad and happy. A girl in college has some link she's ashamed of but attempts to be truthful to herself. Her ex uses it against her but he was already crazy. Meets a hot cop who has same sexual desires, hits it off but some things get in the way. It's a good story with a HEA.

Sensitive Yet Still Paraphilia-ambivalent

I love these shorter novels but sometimes the story suffers. The characters are well-done, drawn as people with complex motivations. With the plot moving so fast, however, the characters' desires come across almost apologetically. Still, this is a story to recommend.

Allyson is racing through the unlit streets, trying to outrun the devil behind her, at least she thinks he's behind her. She finally broke up with her cruel, abusive boyfriend, Drew, and to say he didn't take it well would be the understatement of the year. Allyson needs to stay one step ahead of him because he has a vicious temper and won't think twice about taking it out on her. When she sees the red and blue lights flashing in her rearview mirror, she hangs her head and prays that the ticket doesn't cost her a fortune. Officer Cory Carlisle has given out his share of speeding tickets, but something about this speeding woman didn't sit quite right. She had a far-off stare with a bit of sadness on her face and he had to wonder what she was running from. He gave her a warning and she was free to go, but she couldn't stop thinking about Officer Carlisle and how he made her feel. There is a bit of danger emanating from Cory that draws Allyson to him. The next morning, Allyson's mother is surprised to see that she's home but she's happy to see her. Allyson can't help but worry because her mother is acting so uncomfortable or, perhaps, flustered in her presence but the reason is a happy one. Her boyfriend, Jeff, proposed and she has a beautiful new diamond ring to prove it. Jeff wants to introduce his son to the two most important women in his life so they plan for a "family dinner" together. Cory and Allyson can't believe it when they find themselves together again and it appears that they are off limits to each other, if you believe in the taboo of step-siblings, that is. They do spend time together, learning each other's proclivities, but not yet the full extent of their desires. Allyson's ex isn't done with her, refuses to let her go and he's become even more threatening and delusional than ever. Unless she comes back to him, he's going to post the pictures he took of her when they were in bed together. She's completely humiliated and is losing faith in her self-worth because she didn't stand up to him. When she disappears, it's going to be up to Cory to get her back before Drew can hurt her. I really enjoyed this story and Cory definitely qualifies as a first class book boyfriend. Stacy Hinkle does a wonderful job with the narration. Her voice is clear, well-modulated and is able to do the male and female voices with equal perfection!

Four Hot Cory’s and Alyson’s Stars

It’s very strange that I finished this book. Not because it wasn’t good, but because at some point around the middle it started getting too angsty for me, and I didn’t know if I could handle it. I told myself that if it gets to be too much, I will stop. Let me tell you, it did get too much, but I still kept reading. I wanted to know.

This book also surprised me. Having read similar books about step-siblings’ romance, I had an idea in my mind how the story was going to unravel. Boy, was I wrong. It didn’t go according to my expectations at all, which is a good thing. I like to be pleasantly surprised and for once not to be able to guess the end of the story after reading the first few chapters.

Safety
I think some things in the book may be triggering for people. It wasn’t the case for me. I can usually read anything, as long as it’s not a horror story or it doesn’t involve cheating. Then in most cases I usually cannot read it.

Potential triggers: revenge pornography, abuse, domestic violence, kidnaping, attempted rape, kinky sex scenes with restrains & sexual play (both consensual). I’d think that maybe just unconsensual sex things (that don’t happen in this book) would be a problem, but maybe there are people who are triggered by such things even if they are consensual, so I decided to mention it just in case.

One more thing. Is it wrong for me to want a longer epilogue? I would really like to see the main characters not in a year, but a few years down the road.

Favourite Quote

A smile turns the corner of his lips up and his eyes sparkle.

“I’ve got you, babe,” he says, kissing the tip of my nose.

And I know that he has, in all the ways that count.
