The sudden closure in 1999 of two greyhound race tracks in Spain placed the lives of hundreds of young greyhounds in jeopardy. The essays and poems in this volume tell the story of this dramatic rescue from a variety of perspectives. Writers from around the world reflect, movingly on how greyhounds have changed their lives, while the stories of individual greyhounds reveal the resilience and forgiving natures of these wonderful dogs.
